Midwinter Eve 2025 Patch Notes
New Gameplay Mechanic - Prospecting
[p]You can think of prospecting as a mini treasure hunt to find a special resource. On its surface it's simple but it's very versatile for being used in many profession and skill gameplay. With the addition of this mechanic we'll be adding content for it to several professions, for example:[/p]
 • [p]Prospecting for argent ore (Mining)[/p]
 • [p]Searching for rare berserker mushrooms (Foraging)[/p]
 • [p]Hunting for ancient relics (Scholar)[/p]
[p]This content becomes accessible through the abilities window once the level requirement is reached. But don’t worry, we’ll also be adding one with no level requirements as a part of the holiday content![/p][p][/p][p]Prospecting was designed with cooperation in mind, and can benefit slightly from doing it in a group. The resources found through prospecting can only be interacted with by those who participated in the hunt. [/p][p]We’re planning to add more quality of life and visual polish to this in the future so let us know what you think.

Midwinter Begins 2025 Patch Notes!
Midwinter Begins!

[p]A Starfell tradition occurring during the coldest time of year where the ancient civilization once celebrated the changing of seasons and warmed chilled and damp spirits with vibrant decor and thoughtful acts. Now, the automata carry on the important task of brightening your friends' and neighbors' moods through the winter months![/p][p][/p][p]Cooler atmospheric conditions in Starfell have caused snow flurries to pop up all over the regions!
[/p][p]In the colder biomes (Snowy Peaks, Pine Forest, Tundra), this light snow has begun to stick to the ground, spawning snow drift resources that can be collected to obtain winter snow!
[/p][p]This packed snow can be used to craft various icy decorations like ice block walls, snowy patch pavement, polished ice pavement, and a festive little snow-automata sculpture!
[/p][p]Warm more than just your spirits with a new premium Festive Sweater cosmetic! Coming in six vibrant colors, you're sure to look your best this Midwinter's Eve!
[/p][p]Keep an eye out over on Twitch for a random Beanie Gift box and the new Cheery Mask, coming in a Twitch Drop as a small gift from us to you![/p][p][/p][p]As Midwinter's Eve approaches, even more exciting traditions and goodies will be revealed next week!

Founding a Fortress - New Large Walls, Action Bar and More!

[p]Large Town Walls,[/p][p]With this update we've added a new class of Large settlement walls. These are huge and look awesome, but be prepared for a heavy investment if you want to wall in your town with these. There are 5 tiers of large walls beginning from T6 and going to T10. The ability to build all tiers of large walls is unlocked from a T6 Settlement Research, after which the walls can be construction using construction materials cargo of that tier. We designed these to be a large project for towns to work on and a sort of status symbol that sets well established towns above the rest.
[/p][p]Gilded Pavements,[/p][p]This week also brings a new set of premium pavings, the Gilded Pavings, which can be constructed using the new Gilded Tile premium item from the shop. A set of 100 Tile items can be bough for 2500 Shards and with those you can pave the new premium pavings for anywhere from 4-20 tiles depending on the pattern. As with all pavings, these are not refunded when removed and can be removed by anyone when not on a claim so be sure to place your shiny new pavings somewhere protected.[/p][p]As a part of our journey towards the game being F2P we are continuing to add premium cosmetics to both refine our offering and test their impact on the game. From here we are planning to focus on some Character customization to give you access to some elegant fashion.
[/p][p]Ability Bar Foundations,[/p][p]The last major addition of this week is the introduction of the first version of the ability bar. This should feel familiar if you've played other MMOs, and we'll be adding support for many more common logic such as swapping equipment and using deployables or even emoting. Currently the Ability bar supports binding combat abilities and binding consumables like food or potions.[/p][p]The motivation behind this is in service of our plan to add a lot of new character scale gameplay. The Ability bar provides a simply way for us to add many new ways to interact with the world without needing bespoke UI for each case. Over the next few weeks we plan to add more logic to the ability bar based on things you can already do in the game, and following that we plan to begin using it to introduce new gameplay.
