Death Kid Demo Update 1.0.2

Hi!

A little update for the demo so you won't break the game as easily.

  • fixed audio bug when pausing after screen fades to load next stage
  • fixed spider enemy being briefly hittable after being destroyed by a scorpion enemy
  • fixed shadows not disabling after enemy kill
  • fixed bug where mashing the charge button on start of the stage prevented it from starting
  • audio and sfx minor update

Hi!

I’ve updated the demo with some small fixes and adjustments:

  • fixed dash effects layer sorting
  • fixed charging enabling after quitting the pause screen on gamepad
  • fixed angry face sprite (was ugly)
  • fixed sound settings for the nightmare cutscene (audio now plays even if music is set to 0)
  • fixed enemy shadows sometimes not appearing
  • removed red color indicator for death form readiness
  • increased base energy ball damage
  • changed white flash in the title screen to be gentler on the eyes
  • set shorter wait time in the tutorial to trigger the 3-minute cutscene sooner
  • title screen animation now reacts faster when any button is pressed
  • fixed piercing energy ball hitting throwable enemies after defeat

Demo Available Now!

I'm thrilled to announce that the demo for Death Kid is now live on Steam.

The demo covers the very beginning of the game, about half an hour of gameplay. You can play couple of runs, unlock some abilities and reach the third level. Demo will end with... a strange encounter. Progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game via your save file.
