Beta Update 0.7.6
[p]Hello everyone, [/p][p][/p][h2]Beta Update 0.7.6 has arrived[/h2][p]The Conquest area is here and with it the level cap is expanded to 60. Full patch notes for the update can be found below.[/p][p][/p][h3]Update availability[/h3][p]This update is still under active development. As such, it is only available if you switch to the beta branch of Vanguard Galaxy to test out these new changes. Instruction on how to install the beta updates can be found at the bottom of this post.[/p][p][/p][h3]Conquest[/h3][p]You can now perform missions for a faction of your choice in the Conquest area. Your efforts are rewarded with reinforcements for that faction, which it will use in its efforts to gain control over the Conquest area. Who will you support?[/p][p]
[/p][h3]Mercenaries[/h3][p]You can find the new Omnitac Agency in the Conquest area. They represent mercenaries for hire. These will accompany you for an hour before they say their goodbye. If you improve your reputation with Omnitac you will get better options.[/p][p]Mercenaries are the first step towards gathering a whole fleet of ships to fly around with! While proper fleet control is still a way off in the future, we hope you enjoy this first introduction of NPC followers.[/p][p]
[/p][h3]Destroyers[/h3][p]Ships are getting bigger and bigger as we go along. So naturally you will be able to get your hands on destroyers now. [/p][p]
[/p][h3]New Skills[/h3][p]With the new level cap we're expanding the skill trees as well. You will have a whole new set of choices for each of the skill trees that have been available up to now.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]And of course there's a lot of other improvements. Honorable mention to the faster travel possibility. Go check out your nearest Intertrade Network space station for a mission to unlock faster travel over bigger distances. [/p][p]We hope you will all enjoy these new features. Aid your favorite faction in capturing the entire sector![/p][p]- Added new skill icons[/p][p]- Added more salvage scrap and changed spawn chances[/p][p]- Added more skills to the skilltrees[/p][p]- Camera can pan further away from the player ship[/p][p]- Added the ability to attack friendly space ships (only in the new Quadrant, for now)[/p][p]- When visiting a spacestation after the first time the spacestation UI will open when arriving in the POI when ECHO is off[/p][p]- Added a sidequest to unlock Fast Lane Travel (discover it at your nearest Intertrade Network Space Station to find out what it does :)[/p][p]- Increased the size of combat POI's to allow for more movement[/p][p]- Changed item slot triangle in the corner to now represent size (S, M, L)[/p][p]- Large Turrets and Large modules[/p][p][/p][p]Balance[/p][p]- Changed the way items are generated above the player's current level (may reduce item level of drops to prevent runaway scaling)[/p][p]- Reduced the sell value of high level ores in order to encourage refining them and crafting them into items for sale instead.[/p][p]- Doubled the value of low value salvage scrap (but also applied the new sell value scaling above)[/p][p]- Spaceships now have a top speed[/p][p]- Bouncy bouncy mechanic (when you fly past the POI border) will now push units back into the POI with limited speed[/p][p]- Attacking friendly ships gives a huge reputation loss - be careful![/p][p]- Dynamic missions picked up in a hostile (Embassy) space station now grant significantly more reputation, but no other rewards.[/p][p][/p][p]Fixes[/p][p]- Changed the way jumpgate environment is stored (to reduce save game size)[/p][p]- Fixed faction shop discount also being applied to item sell value[/p][p]- Fixed the game slowly being dragged down by junk data if you stay in the same place for a long time[/p][p]- Map POIs should never be deleted if they're still relevant for a currently active mission[/p][p]- Fixed some mission types not showing an exclamation mark at the mission location[/p][p]- Driller drones now properly show as being on top of the asteroid they're attached to (space ship no longer passes in between)[/p][p][/p][p]Our next priorities[/p][p]- Mercenaries for mining and salvage and overall improvements for usability[/p][p]- Map rework to support panning and zoom better and to work better when using it in transparent mode. And better visibility of where each (sub)faction is[/p][p]- Working torpedo bays[/p][p]- Adding more skills and there will be a mission to unlock the next tier of skills[/p][p]- Overall balance of the conquest area progression and how quickly factions can acquire new systems vs player influence[/p][p]- Docking for Destroyers will change to a tube / tunnel[/p][p]- More ships (large miner/salvagers especially)[/p][p]- A way to acquire legendary item blueprints[/p][p]- Skill loadouts[/p][p][/p][p]If you find anything that should not happen or just want to give your opinion. We always make sure that your save games will keep working, but as long as the beta is ahead of the release, the beta save game won't work on the release version until it catches up.[/p][p]To take part go to Manage and select Properties for Vanguard Galaxy in Steam:[/p][p]
