Version 1.0.1
25.12.07 Update
[p]There was a rare bug we missed that was introduced by the previous patch, so we went and hotfixed it.[/p]
Changelog
[p][/p]
25.12.06
[p]Hi everyone![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all so much for the warm reception so far! It's been very rewarding getting to read reviews and see people enjoying the game.[/p][p]We haven't been resting on our laurels too hard though, and have been keeping track of bug reports and working on fixing some of the more urgent ones as well as a handful of the easier ones. We've done some internal testing on these, but our team is pretty small, so if we've missed anything, don't hesitate to report things. There are still some known bugs (reported both externally and internally), so we're hoping to address a few more in the coming weeks.[/p][p]This patch should fix a number of the bugs relating to the wrong yaku appearing (or not appearing) at the end of rounds, since they were mostly caused by issues in transferring and parsing hand data correctly.[/p][p]For anyone who either runs into issues with this new version, or who wants to downpatch for any reason, there is now a beta branch available containing the old 1.0.0 version.[/p][p][/p]
Changelog

Achievements
[p][/p][p]We have a release date![/p][p][/p][p]dirtbag MAHJONG will be out in a little under a month. Only four weeks to go until you can throw tiles every which way and hurt other people around like the mahjong table like you've always wanted to![/p][p][/p][p]We'll be updating the store copy and images in the next couple weeks to more accurately reflect what the game will look like at launch, given that it's come a long way since this February.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all for your interest so far![/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[version a3.20] Small demo update

Thank you everyone for the warm reception so far! We hope you've enjoyed your time with dirtbag MAHJONG!

While most major changes will come with the full release, we've already made a couple small updates based on easily actionable feedback, as well as some bug fixes.

Bug fixes:
 • Fixed an issue where if you mashed calls fast enough at specific times you could make the game softlock or crash (or on ron/tsumo, get an ungodly amount of points)
 • Fixed an issue with fu calculation that would lead to sometimes incorrectly detecting or failing to detect pinfu
 • Fixed an issue where using R1/RB/R on gamepad to tab to the right end of the hand would sometimes fail to do anything
 • Fixed an issue where sometimes the wrong tiles would display in some yaku examples in the text guide
 • Fixed an issue where you could use the "end game" button to quit out of the interactive tutorial before the tutorial was actually over
 • Fixed an issue where controller prompts would sometimes appear in the interactive tutorial when playing with a mouse
 • Fixed an issue where somehow no one on the team caught that 224m was a complex wait during the interactive tutorial (it's 225m now)

Interface changes:
 • Added pages to the dirtbag guide to make the information for all the characters and their kits always available from the main menu regardless of which character was randomly selected for free play
 • Added an extra screen between the end of the story intro and the start of the first game to explain Vren's kit

Known Issues:
 • Swap calling is currently allowed and shouldn't be
 • The shanten counter sometimes fails to display the correct number (typically at 3+ shanten)
 • No one on the dev team knows how to play mahjong

 • A preview of Vren's first playable story chapter
 • Dirtbag mode free play with a random character

The demo is not limited-time, but there is a restriction in how many full East games you can play before it ends, since the free play mode covers a significant amount of the game.

dirtbag MAHJONG demo for Steam Next Fest on Feb. 24th!

We're excited to announce that dirtbag MAHJONG has been accepted for the February 2025 Steam Next Fest!

Starting February 24th, players will be able to get a feel for the gameplay and the tone of the game with a demo chapter and limited free play mode. Follow Vren's first chapter as he angers a vengeful mahjong ghost and learns what a yaku is.

Until then, keep wishlisting the game and telling your people about it! The demo is going to include a comprehensive tutorial for newer players, so this is the perfect opportunity to get your non-mahjong friends playing.
