With an announcement trailer that opens with a big ol' lightning bolt in a stormy sky, we are excited to show you a little preview of Lost Rift's real-time, dynamic weather system.



The weather in Pioneer’s Landing can be intense, with massive storm clouds rolling in to bring rain, wind, and more.



As the poor weather rolls in, your local environment will change dramatically. Within minutes, clear visibility and a good line of sight can be replaced by thick fog or a storm with frequent lightning strikes.



It’s not just your perception that can be hampered by the weather or time of day - PvE threats have dynamic hearing and sight that are also impacted, with the sound detection of AI being lowered by environmental noise such as wind and heavy rain.



Whether you retreat to the relative safety of your makeshift shelter and camps during the worst storms or venture out as a brave survivalist, use your eyes and ears to sense the threats around you.



In a future news post, we will explore how our other game systems work with the weather to reshape the environment and force you to think twice about where to set up camp and where to start your campfire.
