[p][/p][p]Hey scouts, we have another patch live now on the Beta branch of the game! This patch has POLISH AND TURKISH translations as well as many heavily-requested bugfixes.
[/p][p]Visit discord.gg/peakgame for instructions on how to opt-in to the beta. As always, the beta branch is not guaranteed to be stable but your bug reports help us guarantee stability for when the update is live for real.[/p][p][/p][h2]Patch Notes[/h2][p][/p][p]FEATURES:[/p]

[p]OPTIONS:[/p]
  • [p]Polish and Turkish translations are in![/p][p][/p]
  • [p]New Setting: "Climbing Extra Field Of View". This lets you adjust how the FOV changes while climbing.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]New Setting: PUSH TO MUTE. This works the opposite way of "Push To Talk." No more having to listen to your streamer friend talk to chat.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Settings that were previously hidden outside of the Main Menu will now show up but be disabled. Hopefully this reduces some confusion![/p][p][/p]
[p]BALANCE CHANGES:[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Trail Mix, Granola Bar, Medicinal Root, and Airline Food would not give extra hunger reduction after cooked. [/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where cooking something Well-Done and then stashing it would remove the buffs. For reference, the intended behavior is that Well-Done items give the same bonus as Cooked items. It's your warning before it burns :)[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Remedy Fungus now also cures poison, because it seems like it would.[/p]
[p][/p][p] MAJOR FIXES:[/p]
  • [p]We have a temporary solution to the FALL DAMAGE BUG where you would take a signifcant amount of fall damage when falling a short distance, often from spamming the climb and lunge buttons.

    I say temporary because, well, time zones are tricky between Team Aggro Crab and Team Landfall and sometimes we need to put a bandaid on an issue that someone on the other side of the world is better equipped for. Please let us know if this improves things or if its still bad! [/p][p][/p]
  • [p]THE NAPBERRY PLANT IS TEMPORARILY DISABLED. Some folks were having issues with lag and crashes due to our implementation of the Napberry Plant. Trust me its a weird one. While we work on a better implementation asap, the Napberry Plant won't show up in the level.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Performance at the PEAK is greatly improved. It was the dang wildflowers.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where an item would get stuck in your "Hands" Item Slot. This issue happens when the server can't keep up with items that are swapped too rapidly, so a tiny delay has been added after swapping items before you're able to pick up a new item.[/p][p][/p]
[p]MINOR FIXES:[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where pausing and un-pausing in Offline Play would cause you to fall off a vine.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]You can no longer get the Bookworm Badge by simply reading the final page without the others.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where reading the guidebook pages out of order could result in inconsistent stat tracking for the Bookworm Badge.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Removed an un-spatialized sound effect that would play when players landed from a fall.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Ticks counted as berries toward the Foraging Badge, lol.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where an item in the temporary slot would display the wrong amount of Cooked.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where eating a Scorchberry wouldn't contribute toward the Forager Badge,[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where getting an Anti-Rope Cannon wouldn't get you the Esoterica Badge.
    [/p]
  • [p]You can no longer obtain progress achievements (such as Beachcomber Badge) while you are a ghost. Reaching a new area while alive should grant you achievements for all the areas completed that run.

HOTFIX 1.9.a

[p]Hey scouts! A change we made to item weight when falling unconscious turned out to have Unintended Consequences!! Here's a patch to prevent your game from being soft locked once in a while, and a few other bug fixes while we're at it.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where reducing your status on the same frame you passed out could put the player in an immobile state forever. This already existed before the last patch, but changes made to dropping items when falling unconscious made it occur much more regularly.[/p]
  • [p]Added a failsafe that will return a dropped backpack to its original position if it moves too far away too quickly (unless thrown). Also attempted to improve backpack stability generally.[/p][p]It's time to take drastic measures on this backpack. Hopefully this helps - trust me, this is pissing us off just as much as it is you.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where backpacks could disappear after a lengthy pause in Offline Mode.[/p]
  • [p]Undid a change to Fullscreen Windowed mode.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where backpack UI wouldn't repond to pressing the button to hold your backpack.[/p]
  • [p]Using a Scout Effigy will now count towards completion of the Clutch Badge.[/p]

PATCH v1.8 is out!

[h2]Patch v1.8[/h2][p]Hey scouts! We got another update for ya. This one is mostly targeted at stability and quality of life, but we did throw in a little morsel of content with the "Flying Disc" and Binoculars you can find at the crash site. Thank you to the beta testers for helping us get this patch out quickly!
[/p][h2]What about larger content updates?[/h2][p]As for larger content updates...we're still working on it! Stay tuned because we've got some REALLY cool stuff on the way. Some of you meddling dataminers already have a clue of what it is ;)

  • [p]REDUCE CAMERA BOBBING OPTION - You can now go into the settings (ON THE MAIN MENU) to enable this option to reduce camera bobbing...[/p][p]Please note that since this game is entirely physics-based, we had to do a workaround solution that’s not entirely perfect. Hopefully this is enough to make the game more playable for those with motion sickness, so please try it out and give us your feedback!

  • [p]Anti-Rope Cannon now has a weight of 0, has no gravity at all, and the art/icon is updated.[/p][p]We just felt like it.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Guidebook Scrolls now spawn in chronological order, no matter where you are on the mountain. This should make the Bookworm Badge significantly less exhausting to get. Also, they now have a chance to spawn every time you play, instead of being determined by the daily seed.[/p][p]Sorry to everyone who did it the hard way...[/p]

MAJOR FIXES:[/p]
  • [p]YOU NO LONGER WIN IF YOU DIE.[/p][p]So, literally the code that checked if players PEAKED just checked for whether or not you were past the PEAK on the forward axis. It did not check for whether you were alive. This will now prevent players from doing the thing where, by throwing themselves off the cliff or glitching into the void, they would mysteriously win the game.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]We've improved performance in the Caldera and Kiln. To folks noting the abnormally low framerate in these areas, please let us know if it's still happening. (We don't have access to a big variety of computer specs!)[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Total run time is now synced to the host’s time, making sure everyone either does or does not get the Speedrun achievement together.[/p][p]I saw a reddit post where one player got 1;00;00 and another got 1;00;01 and it made me sad.
    [/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where you could not reconnect properly from the top of the Alpine onwards.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]You can no longer get multiple ticks on you at once.[/p][p]See we're not that evil.

  • [p]The Napberry Plant should function properly again.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Yet another potential fix for rare cases where the campfire was unable to be lit. Hopefully it really works this time.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Further reduced the intensity of the explosive spore visual effect to hopefully fix crashes related to explosions.[/p][p]Please tell us if this still happens.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the screen could turn black permanently if revived while swapping spectate targets.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the chain launcher would sometimes spawn as a broken version that didn't launch a chain when used.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where being fed an item by a friend would instead count as them eating it for achievement purposes. (Affected Mycology, Forager, and Gourmand badges)

  • [p]Fixed an issue where, rarely, achievements might fail to trigger for no apparent reason.

  • [p]The Gourmand badge now properly requires the items to be cooked first before eating. Be careful!

[p]MINOR FIXES:[/p]
  • [p]Removed access to the cinematic camera we use for recording trailers. Oops. [/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the guidebook wouldn't disappear on your back in first-person if you put it in a backpack.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where your weight on the stamina bar didn't update after placing a piton while climbing.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where your controls could get soft-locked if a held Rope Spool was incinerated by lava while you tried to tie it off.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]PUSH-TO-TALK has been added to the Controls page so you can know what it is on gamepad.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Weight will now properly update when dropping all your items after passing out.[/p]
