BETA Patch 0.28.d
[p][/p][p]Hey scouts, we have another patch live now on the Beta branch of the game!
[/p][p]Visit discord.gg/peakgame for instructions on how to opt-in to the beta. As always, the beta branch is not guaranteed to be stable but your bug reports help us guarantee stability for when the update is live for real.[/p][p][/p]
Patch Notes
[p]FEATURES[/p]
• [p]Color Blindness Mode! This adds patterns to differently-colored berries to further differentiate them.[/p]
[p]BALANCE[/p]
• [p]Reduced the maximum time before the first tornado can spawn.[/p]
• [p]Slightly increased the minimum time before a tornado can spawn again.[/p]
• [p]Slightly reduced the commonness of the "Tornado Hell" biome variant,[/p]
• [p]It is now wayy less likely that the maze is blocked after entering the TOMB.
[/p]
[p]MAJOR FIXES[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where players would be unable to obtain the Endurance Badge![/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where Scrolls and Berrynanas and other objects that change form when used would drop the new item instead of putting it in your hands.[/p]
• [p]Fixed a potential issue where playing a vanilla game after previously having visual mods installed (or playing with a modded player while not having their same mods installed) could cause a variety of visual and functionality issues. This could include, but was not limited to, players permanently showing up as a default skin in the endgame screen even if not wearing modded cosmetics, as well as the endgame report breaking entirely and preventing certain achievements from being obtained.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where, rarely, getting caught in a tornado would cause the game to freeze on the loading screen upon failing a run.[/p]
• [p]We gave the backpack new physics that should prevent more cases where people would lose their backpack.
[/p]
[p]MINOR FIXES[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where the Magic Bugle and Scoutmaster's Bugle play at a strangely low volume. (its not too loud now I promise)[/p]
• [p]The Guidebook renders at a higher resolution if you set the Render Scale to low.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where placing a Scout Cannon atop a jellyfish could cause a softlock.[/p]
• [p]A missing treetop has been added to a branch on the giant tree.[/p]
• [p]Removed the annoying flicker on the end game countdown.[/p]
• [p]Removed Scoutmaster grain effect in Photosensitive Mode.[/p]
• [p]Rainbow stamina bar is now slower in Photosensitive Mode.[/p]

Patch 1.27.a

[p]Greetings scouts! Do I have good news for you!

This patch comes with some much-requested features for players with low-end hardware or previously unsupported graphics cards. Namely the Texture Quality setting and the DX11 Graphics API option. If you've experienced low framerate, missing graphics, or crashes, please try these options out!

Additionally, we've added Photosensitive Mode for players averse to flashing lights and dramatic screen effects. This mode has a handful of changes to visuals listed below, but if we missed something that you'd find helpful please let us know!

Finally, the MESA and ALPINE will now alternate every day. When we patch and rotate the maps, you might still see two in a row. Keep in mind that if-and-when we add new replacement biomes, we’ll have to update this with a more sophisticated randomizer.

Happy climbing!
[/p]
PATCH NOTES:

OPTIONS
• [p]NEW GRAPHICS SETTING: Texture Quality[/p]
• [p]This is actually huge. You can now lower the texture quality across the game, which is important for players with low VRAM. This can resolve issues with low framerate, missing graphics, and even crashes. Also it doesn’t even look much worse. Check it out![/p][p][/p]
• [p]NEW GRAPHICS API: DX11[/p]
• [p]The game can now be launched in DX11 in addition to our DX12 and Vulkan options. For players who have had trouble with our previous two options, give this a try. It might be better, it might be worse. We can’t really confirm which exact configurations of graphics cards this will work better with, but if it can improve it for some of you that’s fantastic![/p][p][/p]
• [p]Render Scale options are now more dramatic, you should see higher performance gains if you play on Medium or Low.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]NEW ACCESSIBILITY SETTING: Photosensitive Mode. [/p]
• [p]This mode changes the following:[/p]
• [p]Dynamite, Flare, and Scout Cannon lit fuse effects are less flashy[/p]
• [p]Screenshake is lessened.[/p]
• [p]Bright lights from the dynamite explosion are disabled.[/p]
• [p]Fullscreen VFX from taking various sources of damage are less intense and more gradual.[/p]
• [p]Fullscreen VFX from the Energy Drink, Lollipop, and Heat Pack are less intense.
[/p]
FEATURES
• [p]You can now change your sash in the Passport to any you’ve unlocked via ascents![/p][p][/p]
MAPS
• [p]The ALPINE and the MESA will now alternate every other day.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]A secret entrance in the MESA is now open 50% of the time instead of 25%. Feels fair considering the MESA itself is now open 50% of the time as well.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]The Lava Rises again in THE KILN. Admittedly, we didn't fix the issue with it--but since we weren't able to reproduce the issue on our end, we figured it would be helpful to put it back up and get more reports in. If the lava becomes desynced for you, please send us a video or logs![/p][p][/p]
BALANCE
• [p]Wait time until the lava rises increased by 1 minute.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]The time for the lava to reach the top once it starts is increased by 3 minutes.[/p]
[p][/p]
MINOR FIXES
• [p]Fixed an issue where you could pocket unpocketable items while climbing.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]Replaced bees sounds in Bug Phobia Mode.[/p][p][/p]
• [p]Fog walls raised in height again because apparently you could still do Cannon exploit if you did it just right.[/p]
