Gameplay Improvements & Winter Event Update

[p]We’ve just pushed a new update focused on clarity, tutorials, and balance, based directly on recent feedback. A lot of this is aimed at making systems easier to understand without hand-holding, especially around spells and spicy techniques.

[/p][h2]Changes:[/h2][p][/p][h3] Clarity, Tutorials & Accessibility[/h3]
  • [p]Added a tutorial for Enemy Techniques.[/p]
  • [p]Added legends for Spicy Enemy Techniques.[/p]
  • [p]Added legends for Ron’s Spicy Techniques.[/p]
  • [p]Added a Battle Legend (small question mark at the bottom of the screen) that opens a quick-reference popup.[/p]
  • [p]Added “Coming Soon” labels to all locked spells that are not yet implemented, to make spell progression clearer.[/p]
[h3]Critical Fixes & Frustration Reduction[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed a softlock where deflecting S’Oozella’s fireball could cause it to fly indefinitely and freeze combat. Projectiles now safely resolve after a short time if no obstacle is hit. This fix applies to all enemy projectile spells.[/p]
  • [p]Improved Foxy's affection progression: after 8 unsuccessful attempts, the Talk option activates and Foxy rewards affection.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced Wishing Well event re-encounter chance from 50% to 25% after donating initial coin.[/p]
  • [p]Rebalanced Suctus Mammarum to prevent excessive HP recovery and keep it in line with other techniques.[/p]
[h3]Bug Fixes & Polish[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the Snowman could be clicked through the equipped spells tab.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Shield equip after using an item in combat. Shields now equip correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a Fairy Technique name typo.[/p]
[p][/p][h3]❄️ Winter Event[/h3][p]The Winter Event is still live and will remain available for approximately one more week, so there’s still time to collect festive items and unlock the winter memory.

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the feedback, bug reports, and discussions over the past weeks. We’ve been reading everything carefully, and it’s been incredibly helpful in highlighting where systems need more clarity, better balance, or less friction.
[/p][p]Right now, we’re putting together the next update, focused on refining progression, smoothing out RNG-heavy areas, and improving overall readability and accessibility. This update is planned for early next year, once it’s properly tested.

Small Update: Playback Speed & Winter Event Tweaks

[p]We’ve pushed a small QoL update based on player feedback during the Winter Event.

Changes:

  • [p]Increased maximum playback speed in Memories from x2 → x3
    Some players wanted faster scene playback, so we’ve expanded the speed limit.[/p]
  • [p]Increased drop rates for Winter Ornaments and the Winter Wonder memory shards by ~30–40%
    After testing and feedback, collecting winter memories felt a bit too tedious. This should make progression smoother and more enjoyable.[/p]

Winter Event Update: Festive Content & Fixes

[p]We wanted to take a moment to celebrate the winter season and its quiet beauty, so we put together a small festive event for everyone to enjoy. Snow has started falling across the forest, familiar faces dressed up for the season, and a few winter-themed surprises await those who wander through Twiwood during this time.

    Damage and notify timing adjusted for better clarity and balance.[/p]

    HP bar now disappears during techniques (fixes visual interference with technique bars).[/p]
  • [p]Enemy HP display fixed
    HP values are now shown as whole numbers (no more decimals like [c]127.25[/c]).[/p]
  • [p]Buffs cleared correctly on death
    Cabin buffs no longer persist unintentionally after a defeat.[/p]
  • [p]Twitrunk coin reward adjusted
    Subsequent coin rewards reduced from 10 → 3 to better match progression pacing.[/p]

This one focuses on expanding exploration, adding a new combat mechanic, and fleshing out the world with additional notes and events.[/p][h2]

[/h2][h3]• 2 New Events[/h3][p]Explore the forest to uncover two new encounters. One of them leads to a brand-new technique.[/p][h3]• New Technique[/h3][p]Unlockable through the new event. This technique introduces a new flow option in combat and ties into the item below.[/p][h3]• New Item: Tempo Trigger[/h3][p]A mysterious, time-touched device found through the well event chain. Grants access to the new combat mechanic.[/p][h3]• New Combat Mechanic: Trigger[/h3][p]A timing-based mechanic allowing skilled players to chain attacks when used properly. Improved via Techniques Tab.[/p][h3]• 5 New Memory Notes[/h3][p]Additional lore notes added to the pool to expand the world and its stories.[/p][hr][/hr][h2]
