new update with bug fixes & improvements

I have been getting tons of great feedback from folks in the community, thanks so much everyone for playing and giving input, it has been super helpful and feels nice to have people other than myself assessing the game. here is a list of some of the things I've added to the latest update

[h3]NEW STUFF [/h3]

*New boss music added
*jump now has more weight to it.
*adjust jump attack so it doesn't go as high, so hopefully people can't cheat past the breaker puzzle.
*if you are aiming you won't interact with objects if you press the action button.
*you can now switch movement to D-pad, when on you can also use D-pad in the pause/options menu. 
*you can toggle tabs in the pause menu with shoulder buttons.
*options screen now has "return to main menu" option
*adjusted the climb up animation some and also adjusted the camera movement when pulling up so hopefully it looks slightly less janky, I will continue to fine tune it :) 
*Gas station and Plasmadine office/loading dock area cameras improved, I am building out how the room cameras will work within Vongarland Castle and I am using those cam systems in those spots now.
*holding down/up in costume select menu will now scroll quickly
*fixed bug that was causing fence to lock on wrong side at the final boss battle (fixed it for real this time)
*added a better SFX for jumping into water

getting some help from the super talented jake harding he is lent his voice skills to help with new audio for the ship Captain and with the Richard Bentley cut scene (it sounds much better than what I had there, sorry for all those who had to hear my version lol) should have some need voice work for Bloody Mouth very soon as well.

added welcome/goodbye SFX to the captain when you go to the shop.



****************DEMO SPOILERS**********
I have built out the skill tree, in later chapters after Ransom is infected she will be able to trigger Vampire Powers, there are 4 main skills you will unlock, but you can also upgrade them further via the skill tree, things like walking through water at full speed, using waypoints, etc. these will all be optional powers you can unlock

Auto Sprint added + more changes


hi all, more bug fixes and changes, trying to get the demo tightened up, if you find anything you think needs changing or adjusting please feel free to post in the comments


[h2]NEW STUFF [/h2]

*when you aim at explosive barrels the now show their blast range so you can stand at a safe distance

*you can now toggle auto sprint from the options menu, if on then Ransom will start sprinting automatically if you keep moving 

*Crank is now found in the Plasmadine office, you can no longer access the lighthouse in the first chapter/demo, I did this to tighten up both the main game and demo, and make the pacing better (hopefully).
lighthouse + boss will now be in a later chapter and I am making the lighthouse much bigger/more complex

*you can now activated what will be the waypoints / fast travel in the main game, you can't actually use them until later in the game tho, so you can just turn them on right now

*it is now possible (in the demo) to find the fabric store key and unlock the costume that is a obvious nod to RE2 Claire


*gas station boss now shows HP triggers boss music

*if you pause while Steve is talking to you the dialogue will pause

*made the office puzzle cabinet a bit easier, when you press left or right it spins in set amounts now, I think it was not forgiving enough the way I had it before.

*little bug fixes

*new musics added, the game has a base track and when you enter some areas or get near enemies other layers of the music trigger in on top of the base layer

Another Demo Update

Got some new stuff into the main game / demo

* new music has been added, the basic level track is new and when you enter a puzzle screen there is a new track. more new music tracks for enemies/safe areas/bosses are coming soon.
* customize your control layout! ABXY LB LT RB BT buttons can now be mapped (button mapping is in the options menu on the title screen or by pressing select when in game)
*when you get larger guns like the shotgun or machine gun they can be seen on Ransom's back in game.
* map regions can be found in the game, and when viewing the map from the pause screen areas now have names and you can zoom in and out on the map with LB RB.
*general bug fixes typo fixes
*files full text should show on all screens now
*files names should show in pause menu now

and as mentioned in the last post

*Added drowning & air supply - now when you are under water you have an air meter and if it runs out you die.
*the Captain now is out on the ship deck when the game starts and will talk if you get near him.
I saw/heard from some players that they were missing that you could enter the ship so hopefully this will fix anyone missing that at the game start.


if loading a old save file all buttons might do the same thing, I THINK i made a failsafe that won't let this happen, but if it does it is because of the new controller mapping, you'll just need to go into the options screen a map them.

small update and other progress

[h2]Just put up a new version of the demo [/h2]

*small Bug Fixes
*Added drowning & air supply - now when you are under water you have an air meter and if it runs out you die.
*the Captain now is out on the ship deck when the game starts and will talk if you get near him.
I saw/heard from some players that they were missing that you could enter the ship so hopefully this will fix anyone missing that at the game start.

* you can sit on benches

*add a extra crank point on the ship
*you now acquire map regions but finding / checking maps when exploring



working on making the enemies in the first chapter stay dead, that should be in the next update.
and working on chapter I and II

there will be some new NPCs including some that will follow you / need to be escorted to locations like Ashley in RE4 :)

next post I'll try to give some more details on some new bosses and some of the extra powers you'll be getting later on in the game.

Demo update bug fixes localization and more!

A new demo update is now live


[h3]You should start a new file with this version, loading an old file may causes some issues, I am not 100% sure. so I would just start with a new save file.[/h3]



Things added after getting feedback :


[h3]*added an extra crate in the lighthouse.
*when you get a new jacket there is now a "NEW JACKET" alert in the pause menu to remind you to check it out
*added extra save point to the office.
*added some pop up guides on how to block, sprint, slide and do different attacks.
*you can now block some of Bloody Mouth's attacks.
*the map now works (kinda) I will be adding more to the map soon + pick ups the give you maps for other regions
*the chapter end now gives your play time, I am working on a ranking system, so you will actually get a rank at the end of the chapter soon
*Language support for German, Japanese, Russian, Chinese & Portuguese [/h3]

Reminder I am a solo dev so I was only able to localize using google translate, there are undoubtedly issues with some of the translations, if you speak one of the above languages and find issues please post in the community and I will get them corrected


[h2]Big bug fixes[/h2]
*moving weapons from inventory into crate or dropping them should now un-equip them.
*Lighthouse boss should always trigger now.
*glitch with ransoms body moving off her legs shouldn't happen anymore
*lots of other little fixes
