Book of Vengeance Weekly Update

  • [p]Overhaul of the character creation panel. Each character's "persona" (portrait, name, gender and voice) can be saved and loaded.[/p]

[p]Sheets have been spread, numbers have been crunched. Some significant alterations have been made to the balance of the game. I'm changing up the format of the patch notes a little to better explain my thought process.[/p]
  • [p]Early in the playtest phase I removed a passive +1 to all stats on level up. I've since realized this compromised other areas of the design so.. it's back. This makes a big difference to weapon types that scale with more than one stat (most of them).[/p]
  • [p]Weapon damage stat-scaling numbers have also been changed in many cases (with the above in mind). The aim here was to make the choice between weapon types a bit more interesting.[/p]
  • [p]Skills that scale with stats (instead of weapon damage) have had their damage increased across the board.[/p]
  • [p]Slight increase to the scale rate of enemy damage (since players now have more health with passive Endurance gain) with a small additional boost in mid- and late-game.[/p]
  • [p]Slight decrease to the scale rate of enemy health, but with an additional boost in mid- and late-game.[/p]
  • [p]Monster scaling now uses different curves in the 'No Experience' mode. The expected level of player characters on each floor is lower in this mode, so the normal scaling is too punishing.[/p]
  • [p]Nature's 'Rebirth' now targets all dead allies and has a strong initiative bonus.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a missing line break in the list of granted abilities.[/p]

  • [p]Added the 'Boon' system. Characters can now choose new bonuses each time they level up. You won't always get what you want, so try to work with what you get! Options can be re-rolled with Renown.[/p]

  • [p]Added Trait tooltips when inspecting an item in a shop that has traits (This is the use case where it is most required. This is not universally enabled to avoid situations where up to 6 different trait tooltips could be required at once)[/p]
