Rainbow is Magic skins are back in Siege for April Fool's

The bedazzled pink Rainbow is Magic skins are back in the Rainbow Six Siege shop today, strongly suggesting that leaks about the popular April Fool's Day limited time mode added in 2019 will be returning this year. The leaks happen to be the official Xbox and PlayStation YouTube channels, which seem to have posted the trailer for the event ahead of Ubisoft's official announcement.

According to the trailers, the Rainbow is Magic event is set to run March 30 - April 5, and it features a return to the same kid's bedroom version of the plane map. In Rainbow is Magic, operators are turned into toy soldiers and have to either guard or rescue someone dressed as a teddy bear, all while moving around a version of the presidential plane that's been shrunk down and redone in pinks and neons.

If you missed out on the Rainbow is Magic skin collection last time around, you've got another chance to pick up some of the most attention-grabbing uniforms and weapon wraps ever seen in Siege. Blackbeard, Montange, Smoke, and Tachanka all have skin packs available that look like something out of a Yakuza karaoke dance sequence. Of course, Tachanka has been reworked since we first played this event, so you can now get a beautiful pink skin for his new primary, the DP27.

Rainbow Six Siege devs explain (and fix) the recoil bug

Many Rainbow Six Siege players have been complaining of a bizarre set of changes to recoil ever since Crimson Heist went live - though many others have insisted that those changes never actually happened. Ubisoft put that part of the issue to rest when the devs released a TTS patch addressing recoil, and now that the update is hitting live servers, the studio has finally explained what the problem was in the first place.

The devs describe the issues as such: "vertical recoil stops/drop down sometimes when a player tries to compensate it." That's not exactly a robust description of the issue, but it's at least more consistent than the community's attempts to figure out why recoil suddenly felt weird. Either way, it's been fixed, so there's no longer a need to be concerned.

This patch also introduces the first round of streamer mode options, and fixes a nasty exploit players could use to peek more quickly than they should.

Rainbow Six Siege's Zofia gets an elite Resident Evil Jill Valentine skin

Resident Evil turns a whopping 25 years old this very week, and to celebrate the horror games series' new milestone, Capcom has a bunch of celebrations planned for the coming months. And, it seems these celebrations are extending beyond Resident Evil itself, as other games, like Rainbow Six Siege, are getting in on the action.

Following a tease earlier this year, the FPS game's French Twitter channel has revealed a brand-new Elite skin for attacking Rainbow Six Siege operator Zofia which is the ultimate celebration of Resident Evil, styling her after one of the survival games series' original characters, Jill Valentine. As you can see in the skin's preview below, the RE Elite skin includes a set based on the series' Raccoon City Police Department's elite special forces unit, S.T.A.R.S. - the outfit she wears in the first Resident Evil (and its remake).

In this, you get Jill's S.T.A.R.S. uniform, headgear, victory animation, weapon and gadget skins, and an exclusive pendant for Zofia - and, kitted out, she looks just the part. According to the tweet, the skin is now available, but it doesn't appear to have been posted on the 'main' Siege Twitter feed just yet, so it might not have come to the multiplayer game's store in all regions just yet.
