Major updates coming soon!

[p]The recent playtest gave so much helpful feedback and ideas! I've implemented almost all of it; here's what's been done so far that you can expect to see in version 12 in the next playtest:[/p][p]- Complete overhaul of alien civilization behavior[/p][p]- Completely new random event/happiness system[/p][p]- Colony shuttles: claim planets in the same system as your existing colonies[/p][p]- Build queues[/p][p]- Rally points[/p][p]- Techs added to demo: Starbases, Hyper-thrusters, Colony shuttles[/p][p]- Destroyed structures can be repaired[/p][p]- Show the route of the selected fleet in a different color[/p][p]- Removed nexus techs; nexuses are available by default[/p][p]- Play/pause button for game-over graph[/p][p]- Increased missile damage[/p][p]- Changed ancestral virtues available to demo[/p][p]- Added cheat codes for playtesting[/p][p]- Fixed many bugs and crashes[/p][p][/p]

New turn-based combat system

[p]I'm excited to announce a complete overhaul of the combat system. Space combat is now turn-based and gives you much greater control over your fleets! I will start a public playtest soon to get feedback.[/p]

Challenge Settings

[p]Do you like intense, challenging strategy? Or do you prefer a more relaxed game? I'm thrilled to announce that Vega Chronicle now has adjustable difficulty settings:[/p]
  • [p]Casual: Alien civilizations are friendly unless you attack first.[/p]
  • [p]Normal: Alien civilizations try to win.[/p]
  • [p]Impossible: Alien civilizations have more resources than you.[/p]
[p]Other improvements over the last month include an entirely new fleet combat system, new prosperity and disaster events, and more technologies to research![/p][p]Stay tuned for a playtest around the end of the month to try out these new systems.[/p]
