Dev Diary #2 From Systems to City Life

[p]Hey Tamers![/p][p]Today we are showcasing our current progress and revealing the roadmap for the future of Tamer Town. Let's get started![/p]

[p]What’s new in Tamer Town? [/p][p]Development of Tamer Town is moving forward according to plan. Right now, we’re focused on preparing a demo that will be available to players in the future. For now, we’re playing the game ourselves a lot of testing mechanics, balance, and checking what works well and what still needs improvement. The game is also starting to look better visually. [/p][p][/p][p]

We already have our first building models and assets, and the city is slowly beginning to feel alive. We’ve added the first foundations of relationships with other towns, so the world doesn’t feel empty or isolated.[/p]

[p]At the same time, we’re working on the combat system. Our goal is to make it interesting and deep on its own, while still fitting naturally into a city builder - supporting the experience rather than taking it over.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Mokitons have elements and they’re not just cosmetic. Each element affects:[/p]
 • [p]a Mokiton’s needs,[/p]
 • [p]its behavior,[/p]
 • [p]and how it can help the city function.[/p]
[p]Importantly, elements will be visible not only in the Mokitons themselves, but also in how the city operates. Examples from the game:[/p]
 • [p]Electric Mokitons help power plants, supplying energy to most buildings.[/p]
 • [p]Water Mokitons work in wells. [/p]
 • [p]Fire Mokitons: produce food, cook in kitchens, and appear in processing buildings.[/p]
 • [p]Stone Mokitons help out on farms. [/p]
 • [p]Toxic Mokitons? Yes, they exist, but they will appear later in the game. They are rarer, harder to obtain, and intentionally absent from the early stages. [/p]

[p]Buildings are ready. Mokitons are ready. Now it’s time to connect them.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]At the moment:[/p]
 • [p]buildings are functional,[/p]
 • [p]Mokitons exist as a separate system,[/p]
 • [p]and we already have some early models (like the power plant and the well) that look solid in-game.[/p]
[p]The next step is to connect Mokitons and buildings both visually and mechanically, so it’s clear who works where and why it makes sense. [/p][p]See you in the next devlog![/p][p][/p][p]Best,[/p][p]The Tamer Town Dev Team
