Caverns And Dryads News

The first early release is coming in the next days! What I've added here

EXCITING NEWS!!!!
Caverns and Dryads will be available for you to download as early release in the next days!

BUT THERE'S MORE! I've implemented the chapters engine. So now I'll populate the game with interactive stories that may reward you with stats raise, gold, spells, keys to places, and more.

So in the next release, you will have all that and I will also be adding more features easier. It was the piece I was massing to build most of what is left.
Here below there's a devlog entry of what is new in that future release for now.

Note: For many people it will be the first downloaded version for Windows, because I will post it shortly after the game is published in the next days. You can check your version on the top right of the menu screen. After that expect frequent updates!

-------------------------------
Version 1.0.14 - May, 2025
-------------------------------
- Bug fix: player states like poisoned or paralyzed, etc may be added several times and didn't were removed by the spell cure on one attempt. Now it's fixed and states won't be duplicated.
- Optimization: Added methods to deal with several parameters of the player in a more solid way.
- Created the details of the game that register the relationship between the heroes and their milestones in the game.
- Fixed a typo in French.
- Added description of the relationship of the heroes in the Heart screen.
- Now the game has support for growing the relationship through the stories.
- The inventory of object has been implemented to add support for keys, objects on quests, and other objects. Inventory will have an apple, that has 2 uses and give you 5 life points each time. It's a test object. You will find more other objects as you play and as I add them.
- On combat, the real life points of monsters are displayed, so when I add the boss monsters you feel more frightened by the difficulty of beating them.
- Added color to the number to guess in doors, so you see more clearly if the max is 10 or 50.
- Added back button in tutorial so you can re-read it easier without going to menu.
- Tutorial stories appear now before you enter some situations for first time (only), like combat and on others. This way you can learn as you play, although the tutorial is recommended too.
- Added functions to the story engine to get armors, keys, weapons, story milestones, and more.
- Added the possibility of confronting a special enemy in the middle of a story.
- Message when game starts that reminds you to play the intro story on the menu.
- Tutorial chapter on the first combat that tells you some strategy.
- Tutorial chapters for city, sanctuary, magic screens, and world map.

Thank you! What I'm doing now, and new features suggestions

Hi dear adventurers!
This is just a post to quickly tell you:

- Caverns and Dryads is getting wishlists and some people already joined the Hub Community, so I am incredibly happy and grateful for you to come into my world!

- I am now in the thinking phase of the next features of the game. I found that many of them need the story framework (same that the intro story uses) to be developed in more depth. Why? Because it opens the gate to add the boss monsters, keys, inventory, relationship milestones between the protagonists, drama... SO MANY things. All of them need it to some degree.

- I will start implementing the story framework from simple to complex features, so we see new features soon, and then go adding more complex ones. I think it's the best way for me to do and for you to start enjoying the possibilities it opens.

- Suggest your features in the Discussions of the Hub! Here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3634870/discussions/

For example: things that you may love to be added to stories so they can happen. But there are several threads open where you can suggest things. In the way I find they fit the game, I will add them at some point.

Remember that there is also an Artwork section where I will post some image, but you can post too, sending images you do of fanart of the game (all arts welcome: generative / AI / traditional / digital...).

Thanks again for joining! :) Seeing people enjoy this journey fills me with joy and makes me feel very encouraged to give the best of me! :)

- Louis.
