[p]I am back with your regulary scheduled gone fishing update (smaller one this time)[/p][p][/p][p]Changed starting gold from 25->30. No more dying day 1 guys come on now[/p][p]Fixed a bug that could cause cpu to go brrr[/p][p]Fixed a bug that would cause fishing rods to disapear on being dropped[/p][p]Fixed a bug where the little fish eater guy whos got like 3 eyes would hang around even after feeding him a fish. Also fixed a bug where he would be removed from the server but still present for clients
Changed peaceful mode so that quota is met regardless of fish being in the altar or not (idk if i like this much peace)[/p][p]Removed the snake creature from the swamp map until it can be reworked [/p][p]Some network optimizations[/p][p][/p][p]working on some new tech rn that will cause heavily fished areas of the lake to become "overfished" making bite times take longer, and the caught fish from the given location will be smaller on average.[/p][p]other new stuff coming soon aswell[/p][p][/p][p]thanks for playing gone fishing!![/p][p][/p][p][/p]

QOL and Fixes

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Hello everyone! Got an update that addresses some of the recent bugs and qol features people have been asking for[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Increased the range of which voip can be heard[/p]
  • [p]Made so bait go mute when they are placed into the baitcage[/p]
  • [p]Added new fog particle effect during heavy rain[/p]

  • [p]Fixed a bug where the dog could block players[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where using the chat feature could cause the player to get stuck in ui mode (and not be able to play the game)[/p]
  • [p]Nessie hat not unlocking bug should be fixed[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where client tick rate would sometimes not be synced with the host[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where on game start, if max players was set to a value greater than 4, the lake monster would have invalid attack points, causing him to glitch out when grabbing a player from bed[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where picking up two fish of the same species could cause the second fish picked up to obtain the value of the first fish or be reset back to the default point value. There is still an edge case I am working on fixing but it is proving to be very difficult. This edge case happens when a player rapidly pick up and drops fish (like super spams)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where if a player played a hardcore enabled save (or new game) then left and played a hardcore disabled save (not a new game), the save file would be deleted when it was not supposed to be

Water spooks and fixes

[p]Quick update for yall before I get some sleep lol
[/p][p]Added a new event where some rather unfriendly creatures will be visible in the water
[/p][p][/p][p]Made so the minnow trap does not need to be picked up to get more bait from it[/p][p]Made the cabin grill larger so it will be easier to cook those fishies[/p][p]Removed collision between players and bait (there may be a couple of bait left that do still have collision with the players, if you find one please comment it below and I will fix it asap.[/p][p]Reduced amount of cpu being used by the host to help improve performance.[/p][p]Fixed a bug that would make sprinting jittery for clients when they swap slots while sprinting.[/p][p]Fixed a bug where clients would sometimes not be able to see the bait cage[/p][p]Fixed a bug where bait could become desynced in multiplayer when placing it into the bait cage[/p][p]Fixed a bug where the game would end unexpectedly[/p][p]Fixed a bug where anytime you would swap an inventory slot your movement would get reset to walking

The Performance Patch + New item + Fixes

[h3]Hello everyone! This patch adds a new item, fixes a few bugs, and adds much needed optimzation to the game. If you run into any issues or notice anything weird, please let me know so I can get it fixed asap for you, thanks!!![/h3][p][/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Added a new item, the Bait Cage. When purchased, you can store bait in this cage, and they will be saved overnight for as long as you keep them in the bait cage or until your game starts to lag too much[/p]

  • [p]Added two crucial optimizations that will help with ping and network slowdowns. It will also decrease cpu usage for the host of a lobby so the random drop to 20 fps should be fixed aswell[/p]
  • [p]Added custom draw distance and tick profiles for each bait ai to help with performance[/p]
  • [p]Remade the endgame cutscene to have logs fly around and some other stuff as well.[/p]
  • [p]Cant 100% confirm due to me not being able to replicate this bug in the first place, BUT I am pretty sure that I got the UI bug with the Fishing Strike System solved. It was putting 2 strike systems on the screen at once, pretty weird.[/p]
  • [p]Shark attack now kills on JW difficulty only.[/p]
  • [p]Made the crab's pathing a bit smarter so that the crab can now chase/grab players in more complex area,s like on the dock[/p]
  • [p]Increased the time the crab will seek players from 11->15 seconds[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Increased the spawn chance of the stalker creature; however, there is now a 5-day cooldown for it to spawn again

  • [p]Fixed an edge case that caused your inventory slot to be a white slot after pressing left click to detach a fish from your line.[/p]

Floating cats, Disappearing monkeys, and MORE

[p]Hello everyone! Got a nice lil update for ya to help make your experience better while playing gone fishing. Thanks for playing Gone Fishing!!

  • [p]Players now drop items on death and on exiting the game (not bait tho, there's got to be some sort of punishment)[/p]
  • [p]Reworked the nav mesh for each map to greatly improve how ai navigate the world and reduce glitchy pathing (like the cat on the light in the cabin, thanks yumi)[/p]
  • [p]Reworked the jungle spider monster so that when players go into the cabin they will roam away[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the number of spider monsters that spawn on the jungle map[/p]
  • [p]Removed trees blocking the jungle bridge[/p]
  • [p]Arm and Leg are now displayed on a hook when caught. (The leg was just dangling in the air before lol)[/p]
  • [p]INCREASED ALCOHOL TOLERANCE LETS GO (y'all gonna have to find out how much more you can drink before you die)[/p]
