Project DINOZ: 2026 Roadmap

[p]Happy New Year, Survivors![/p][p]As we step into 2026, we are thrilled to share the future of Project DINOZ. Our goal for this year is to increase the frequency of content while deepening the survival horror mechanics that keep you on the edge of your seat.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
The Monthly Incident Schedule
[p]Starting this month, we are committing to a new content cadence. You can expect a new Incident Log on the 25th of every month, starting January 25th. Each log will expand the lore and introduce new prehistoric threats.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
Next Up: Incident Log
[p]On January 25th, the forest becomes a death trap. This Incident Log features a deadly encounter with a pack of Allosaurus. These predators hunt with terrifying coordination—you aren't just being tracked; you're being herded.[/p][p]To survive the pack, you’ll need to master our new stealth features:[/p]
  • [p]The Peek Mechanic: You can now lean and peek around corners or cover. This allows you to scout the pack’s positions without fully exposing yourself to a charge.[/p]
  • [p]Stealth Refinement: With the Allosaurus's keen senses, every movement counts. Use the environment to stay out of their collective line of sight.[/p]
[p][/p]
New Systems & Utility Items
[p]We are evolving how you survive through a brand-new Crafting System. Scavenge the environment for materials to create life-saving utility items:[/p]
  • [p]The Smoke Bomb (Coming Jan 25th): Specifically designed for this update, the Smoke Bomb is your best friend when the pack corners you. Deploy it to break their line of sight and vanish.[/p]
  • [p]The Noisemaker (Retroactive Update): We have slightly redesigned the Velociraptor Incident level to introduce this tool. Use it to lure predators away from your path or lead them into a distraction.[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]
Technical Overhaul & Improvements
[p]Behind the scenes, Project DINOZ has undergone a massive technical transformation:[/p]
  • [p]C++ Transition: We have migrated the codebase from Blueprints to C++. This provides a smoother experience and a noticeable performance boost across the board.[/p]
  • [p]Modular Level Design: We are moving to a modular workflow for interiors, ensuring more consistent, high-quality environments.[/p]
  • [p]Enhanced AI & Animations: Significant polish has been added to dinosaur behaviors and player movement to make every encounter feel more visceral.[/p]
  • [p]Major Bug Fixes: We’ve eliminated the keypad code glitch, fixed dinosaurs grabbing players through thin walls, and resolved the map-loading issues on the second level of the Raptor Incident.[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]
Long-Term Goal: Survivor Mode
[p]While the monthly Incident Logs focus on narrative encounters, we know you want more ways to play. We are excited to announce that we are targeting the release of Survivor Mode toward the end of the first half of the year (June/July 2026).[/p][p]This mode will be a true test of your skills, forcing you to utilize the crafting and utility systems to their fullest potential in a more open-ended, high-stakes environment.[/p][p][/p]
[p]Final Note: We are also working on a full Audio Track Redesign, currently slated for the February update, to further immerse you in the horror.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you for your continued support as we build the ultimate dinosaur horror experience. See you in the habitat on January 25th.[/p][p]

Update: Incident Logs, Development Roadmap & 2026 Vision

[p]Hello, Survivors![/p][p]Today we are pivoting the development of Project Dinoz to provide you with a more consistent, high-quality horror experience. We want to be transparent about how we are building this world and what you can expect over the next 12 months.

New Game Mode: The Incident Logs[/p][p]We are introducing Incident Logs—a series of intense, narrative-driven experiences that put you in the shoes of the facility's staff during the initial outbreak. Each log is designed as a standalone "found-footage" style survival mission.
[/p]
  • [p]Now Available: — Power Drain: Step into the boots of a security officer, navigate a dark sub-level and try to send a distress signal while being hunted by a pack of lethal Velociraptors.[/p]
  • [p]Coming Soon: We are committed to a Monthly Release Schedule. Each new Log will feature a new dinosaur, a new character, and unique survival mechanics.[/p][p]
    [/p]
[p][/p][p]Survivor Mode & Story Mode: The 2026 Goal[/p][p]We have temporarily deactivated Survivor Mode. We want this mode to be a robust, stable, and endlessly replayable experience, and the current version doesn't meet our standards for fun or performance.[/p]
  • [p]Parallel Development: Our team is now working on three tracks simultaneously:[/p]
    1. [p]Monthly Incident Logs (Immediate episodic content).[/p]
    2. [p]Survivor Mode (Rebuilding for stability and high-stakes gameplay).[/p]
    3. [p]Full Story Mode (The complete narrative arc of the recon squad sent in to uncover the truth).[/p]
  • [p]Target Release: Both the finalized Survivor Mode and the Full Story Mode are targeted for release within 2026.[/p]
[p]Thank you for supporting the hunt.[/p][p]— The Kroksy Media Team
