Firefly Simulations, which we introduced previously in the November roadmap, are entering the scene with the Medway Valley Line for Train Sim World 6! Speaking on behalf of Firefly, MVL aficionado DTG James will take you through the highlights:[/p][p]James: "Anyone who knows me would be aware I’m a Medway Valley local and I’ve long been an advocate for getting the Medway Valley Line into Train Sim World, and I was delighted when Firefly Simulations approached us with their plan! I’ve assisted with research and reference since, and now, I get the privilege of sharing it with you all on today of all days, it’s my birthday!"[/p][p][/p][p]"The Medway Valley Line takes you on a tranquil journey through the Garden of England from Strood, which you may know from Southeastern Highspeed, and down via Maidstone to Paddock Wood & onward to Tonbridge. It’s something of a journey that time forgot, with many historical and natural features, grade-listed buildings and signal boxes which are still staffed to this day. Also included from Southeastern Highspeed is the stretch from Gravesend to Rainham, enabling gameplay to the likes of Hoo Junction and Gillingham depot - this section has seen significant uplifts compared to SEHS, and brings the route to a total of 26 new and 13 updated miles."[/p][p][/p][p]"Firefly have gone above and beyond at every turn, capturing the route to almost picture-perfect detail, it’s a wonder to explore. For PC players, all the level of quality you’re used to in the Fife Circle and WCML enhancement mods is present but dialled to 11 with the team having full control by making the route from scratch, which is now something Gen 9 console players can enjoy too!"[/p][p]"The Class 375/3 is the primary traction on the Medway Valley Line and has been a key area of focus for the team, going the distance by implementing a more in-depth simulation of UK GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications - Railway)!"[/p][p][/p][p]"This allows you to both key in your headcode at the start of every service, and have a simulated conversation with the signaller when contacting them - you’ll even hear different voices based on the nearest local signal box. Alongside this, the 375/3 is getting a new sound set, full guard mode functionality, proper suspension support and of course on-board passenger announcements. All this can be enjoyed on the Class 375/6 which is also included, meaning both 3 and 4-car versions of the 375 with the old Adtranz-style headlights are available."[/p][p][/p][p]"Between Strood and Paddock Wood, one can look forward to a steady stream of half-hourly services based on the 2025 WTT, as well as extended Tonbridge runs and other alternative movements throughout the day. The Class 395 from SEHS, as well as the 465, play considerable roles to add life around North Kent, but also visit the MVL on occasions. The lineside industry in Aylesford, as well as Tonbridge West Yard and Hoo Junction, are sure to see plenty of freight action, and I for one am looking forward to the odd railtour or two!"[/p][p][/p][p]"From myself, who’s elated with the progress so far, and the Firefly team themselves who continue to work hard, we hope you’re just as excited as I am when their debut route, the Medway Valley Line: Strood - Tonbridge, comes to Train Sim World in 2026 (which just so happens to be the line’s 170th anniversary)!"[/p][p]
[/p][p]Thank you James, we'll aim to share more updates in the new year from their team as they continue to progress with development, and as as a bonus, please enjoy a route map diagram to help showcase what you can expect![/p]
Announcing: DB BR 147 from Dovetail Games
[p][/p][p]Get ready for more German traction arriving to Train Sim World 6 from the Dovetail Games team with the DB BR 147 locomotive, with a base timetable to support the upcoming Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn release and an additional alternative 2010 era timetable.[/p][p] [/p][p]Enjoy current-day passenger services using the DB BR 147 from a modern cab, with a mixture of Dostos, n-Wagens and the WiKo.[/p][p]
These initial WIP screenshots are taken from our art teams as they continue to work on the modelling intricacies, and we'll be bringing you more updates, details and on-route screenshots as development continues in the coming months.[/p][p]Next up, let's find our more on another project in-development from the Dovetail team![/p]
First Screenshots for NEC New York – Stamford from Dovetail Games
[p][/p][p]Let's check back in on our new Metro North US route, where you'll be hopping abord the Metro North M8 EMU and exploring the Northeast Corridor - from Grand Central or New York Penn to Stamford![/p][p]We're exicted to show you all some of the first development screenshots now that track-laying is complete, and environment work is ongoing. Please understand that images shown here are very WIP, and may contain unfinished lighting or temporary floating development assets (looking at you, yellow triangle UFO!).[/p][p][/p][p]You'll be able to experience passenger services to both of New York's major railway stations, with Metro-North trains headed to Grand Central Terminal, and Amtrak trains heading to Penn Station, diverging at New Rochelle.[/p][p]
This route offers a huge range of variety, including local, express, and several semi-express patterns, trains which short-turn at New Rochelle or Harrison, and deadhead positioning moves.[/p][p]
Your next US adventure will come with 54 miles of track and 24 stations to explore as you travel, as well as additional Metro-North services playable on the Harlem Line and Hudson Line![/p][p]
And in case you missed it, here's our route map we shared alongside the announce in our Dovetail Direct 2025 show![/p][p]
Expect more updates and information from our development progress in the new year.[/p]
More Information on the BR Class 90 from Alan Thomson Simulations
[p][/p][p]Announced back in October, the ATS team have been keen to keep us updated with new screenshots and information for their highly anticipated UK freight loco coming soon to TSW6![/p][p]The upcoming BR Class 90 will operate on the West Coast Main Line: London Euston to Milton Keynes route, with a new timetable and a range of five authentic liveries.[/p][p][/p][p]ATS: "We've developed deep simulation features for the Class 90, including a fully operational BIS, Working Datacord entry panel, and realistic Neutral Section functionality. UK Safety Systems are fully modeled, including TPWS/AWS/DSD, the new Working Speed Set feature, and Intractable GSMR radio."[/p][p]
"Additionally, we've also introduced Multiple Working capabilities, allowing for heavy-haul operations with other Class 90 locomotives."[/p][p]
We know many of you are exicted to see more and get your hands on this mixed-traffic locomotive, and we'll be sure to keep bringing you regular updates from the ATS team![/p][p]
We've only showcased a limited selection of liveries in our screenshots, despite the ATS team working on 5 different variations for the Class 90 whilst our team confirm approval for licensed brands being shown. For an un-branded preview, take a look at what you can expect from this below overview image shared in our November Roadmap:[/p][p]
The ATS team also wanted to extend their support for the IMBUE group, who’ve delivered these liveries that complement the pack’s service mode, which was also made in collaboration teams at AND Games.[/p]
Gameplay Showcase for Liberec - Stará Paka from Vector Simulations
[p][/p][p]Finally, one last reveal for today - get ready for a beautifully crafted showcase video made by the Vector Simulations team, to get you all the latest development highlights for the first ever Czech route in TSW![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]As a recap, hear more from the team on their October development details:[/p][p]Vector Simulations: "Czech Safety systems - our locomotives come with LVZ and LS90 safety systems. Both of those look similar and in theory are, as LS90 is a newer version of LVZ. As this route in reality doesn’t use any code transmission systems, You will mostly use only vigilance features of those. But, we have also implemented outside forces, which can interfere with older LVZ even if there isn’t any code transmitted. So don’t be surprised when a red light on the repeater will flash for a second while You are driving near high voltage power lines."[/p][p][/p][p]"Demanding scenarios - this route will come with 7 scenarios varying from easy to really demanding. You will need to operate radios, couple trains together at Liberec yard, encounter multiple signalling and level crossing failures and even drive diverted container train."[/p][p]
Additional included with the release, you'll be able to dive into mutliple liveries for both the Class 750 and Class 843.[/p][p]If you fancy catching up on our previous information shared from the Vector Simulation team, why not dive through our latest roadmap updates:[/p][p]And that wraps up our second weekly drop, so stay excited, and get ready for a final drop coming next week on Monday, December 15th 2025.[/p]

It will cover your thoughts on Train Sim World 6 features, recent Add-ons releases, and then we'll look ahead to get your input for the type of content you want to see in the future![/p][p]This lets us build an understanding of every type of player who plays Train Sim World, and how we can make the best experience with features you want most. We've also spent time this year to localise our survey into German too, so that it better supports our german-speaking audiences when submitting answers to questions.[/p][p][/p][p]Head into the Train Sim World Winter 2025 Survey[/p][p][/p][p]Please note, everything asked in our survey above is designed to gauge how players feel about new content, and about our games as a whole - it is worth nothing that the inclusion of content/features in the survey is not confirmation that we are developing these, or if it'll happen in the future - this is why we're asking you first how you feel about it.[/p][p]Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts, the survey should take around 30 minutes to complete in total and will close on midnight, December 14th 2025.[/p][p]As part of this survey, we are also offering 20 lucky entrants a chance to win a TSW Add-on of their choice. We will contact the winners based on information submitted when completing the survey as an optional final step as a thank you for helping us build the future of Train Sim World. Stuttgart - Heilbronn: Release Date & Timetable Info

[p]Mark your calendars, Frankenbahn: Stuttgart - Heilbronn is coming on 9th December, featuring the new BR 140 and Wittenberger cab car![/p][p]In this article we provide more information about the Audio for the BR 140 locomotive and outline the full list of layered content for the timetable, relevant for the year 2000 setting.[/p][p][/p]
Route and Content Summary
[p][/p][p][/p][p]We gave an initial overview of the first German route Add-on to come to Train Sim World 6 in our previous article.[/p][p]This 51 km route, set in the year 2000, brings classic traction to freight services and adds another cab car to Train Sim World's German railway roster, in the form of the Wittenberger Steuerwagen.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]A pre-refurbishment Stuttgart Hbf, trackside vineyards and military structures make for a distinct journey, with unique railway infrastructure also making appearance in flyovers, underpasses and the massive Kornwestheim freight yard.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Hauling this freight will be the new BR 140, a classic locomotive built between the 1950s and 1970s. Tap changer power and single release brakes will provide a challenge for players, as will the included toggleable Train Faults as part of the Train Sim World 6 core feature.[/p][p][/p]
BR 140: Audio
[p][/p][p]A real-world audio recording reference trip was undertaken by the Audio Team to implement authentic BR 140 sounds into this Add-on. Sounds captured reflect what was available to record during this trip.[/p][p]The sounds that came from that recording include:[/p]
 • [p]Whistle (Internal & External)[/p]
 • [p]Compressor (Internal & External)[/p]
 • [p]Traction blower[/p]
 • [p]Tap changer wheel[/p]
 • [p]Internal running[/p]
 • [p]Internal joints[/p]
 • [p]Internal flange rumble[/p]
 • [p]Brake rub (Internal & External)[/p]
 • [p]Cab deactivation buzzer[/p]
 • [p]SIFA Alarm[/p]
 • [p]PZB Alarm[/p]
 • [p]Transformer Buzz[/p]
[p]During the mixing phase, some of the external sounds we weren't able to get were synthesised from our existing collection.[/p][p][/p]
Wittenberger Cab Car: Compatibility
[p][/p][p]In addition to Train Faults and Passenger Announcements the new cab car will be compatible with locomotives from previous Train Sim World Add-ons.[/p][p]These include:[/p]
 • [p]BR 111 (included in Stuttgart-Heilbronn)[/p]
 • [p]BR 112[/p]
 • [p]BR 114[/p]
 • [p]BR 143[/p]
 • [p]BR 146[/p]
 • [p]Original BR 101[/p]
[p][/p]
Further Timetable Information

More layers to be added
[p][/p][p][/p][p]A comprehensive timetable, outlined in our previous article, focuses on the SE and RE services of the era, along with the freight services hauled by the BR 140 and shunting services operated by the included BR 363.[/p][p]We also confirmed the following additional layers:[/p]
 • [p]BR 111 Dosto services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn[/p]
 • [p]BR 425 services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn[/p]
 • [p]Mixed freight services from Ruhr Sieg Nord[/p]
 • [p]Shunting substitutions using the BR 294 locomotive from Train Sim World 6: Deluxe and Special Editions[/p]
[p]In addition to these, following feedback and further work by the Gameplay Team, we can confirm more layers which will be added in a post-release patch.[/p][p][/p]
ICE and IC Traffic
[p][/p][p]AI ICE traffic will feature the ICE 1 and ICE 3 from Kassel-Würzburg. The ICE 1 handles most of the ICE traffic, including filling in for a few ICE 2 services. The ICE 3 runs Expo Express trains (1 each way) out of the map to Hannover.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The original DB BR 101 Add-on will add IC AI traffic with two playable services that run halfway along the route, as well as some shunting services in and out of Stuttgart.[/p][p][/p][p]All ICE and IC services, apart from those playable, will run off the route at the Schnellfahrstrecke to Mannheim.[/p][p][/p][p]Frankfurt-Fulda brings some additional AI for the ICE-T at Stuttgart, focusing on the trains that ran to Switzerland via Singen.[/p][p][/p]
Auto and Nachtzug Trains
[p][/p][p][/p][p]The BR 110 from Bremen-Oldenburg, Linke Rheinstrecke coaches, Laaers and BR 363 make up an interesting layer representing the Auto and Nachtzug, or car and night trains![/p][p]These are long distance sleeper trains that travel through the night with coaches and car carriers. Back in the year 2000, Kortwestheim had two platforms specifically for handling these services. They're a mix of short passenger runs and a bunch of little shunting services for the 363 at both Kornwestheim and Stuttgart Hbf.[/p][p]The platforms and loading ramp at Kornwestheim are still there today but no longer used.[/p][p][/p]
Other Services
[p][/p][p]The DB BR 218 Add-on will add services that pull some coaches from Linke Rheinstrecke on an IRE train to/from Erfurt, fully playable between Stuttgart and Heilbronn.[/p][p]The BR 628 from Niddertalbahn runs mostly AI services at Heilbronn Hbf but also represents a withdrawn service that ran to Stuttgart Feuerbach. It's a very short playable service that runs only in the rush hour.[/p][p]Semmeringbahn also adds some ÖBB EC AI traffic to the Stuttgart area.[/p][p][/p][p]We can also confirm as part of this that ONE shipping containers will no longer appear in freight consists.[/p][p][/p]
S-Bahn Services
[p][/p][p]Finally, we previously stated that gaps would be left to accommodate the future release of the BR 420 Add-on, by TSG. Further details about this release, including impact on timetables for route Add-ons, will be given over the course of future Roadmaps or closer to release.[/p][p]In the meantime, we can confirm that the BR 423 from Frankfurt S-Bahn will occupy these services instead.[/p][p][/p]
Known UI Issue on Release:
[p]Finally, we wanted to make players aware of a Known Issue that some players may encounter on release.[/p][p]Some players may notice that the n-Wagen cab car (DB Bnrdzf 463) erroneously appears in the train selection screen, instead of the Wittenberger Cab car (DB Bnrdzf 483). Selecting the n-Wagen will show the correct Wittenberger cab car option as a listed variant.[/p][p]The Wittenberger cab car is playable, if this variant is selected.[/p][p]A fix for this issue has been submitted, with affected players receiving a post-release update to rectify it.[/p][p][/p]
Preview Livestream
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Join both the RFTV Team for the Preview of Stuttgart - Heilbronn, now taking place on Friday 5th December, over on YouTube and Twitch.[/p][p][/p][p]Find out more about Train Sim World 6 by following @trainsimworld on Twitter/X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.[/p]
