Besmirch Christmas Patch!

[h3]Merry Christmas y'all![/h3][p][/p][p]Got out a pretty big update! I am excited to show you what's new and the direction we are going in.[/p][p][/p][p]I am sure there will be many issues, so your playing and comments are very much appreciated![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]New Features:[/h3]
  1. [p]Mail box outside of house[/p]
  2. [p]Besmirch Bank and Loan office[/p]
  3. [p]Carpentry Shop. (Not finished, but accessible)[/p]
  4. [p]Supply box changes. Now you will have to choose if crops are sold or for feeding town.[/p]
  5. [p]Supply screen! Once finished Loan, you will have to feed town. (Starvation/negative effects not finished).[/p]
  6. [p]Slight GUI Updates. A little prettier settings UI.[/p]
  7. [p]Borderless Fullscreen.[/p]
  8. [p]Multiple Font options.[/p]

  1. [p]Dead plants no longer disappear feat.[/p]

  5. [p]Hay around cottage wasn't saving/loading properly.[/p]
  6. [p]Tutorial bug fixes (made order of "tilling"/"planting"/"watering" more forgiving)[/p]
  7. [p]Cooking food with full inventory didn't give item[/p]
  8. [p]Full screen not automatically setting screen ratio to 1920x1080[/p]
  9. [p]Sprite inconsistencies (Baron monocle on wrong eye)[/p]
  10. [p]Tree depth problem. Appears over fence when it should be behind[/p]
  11. [p]Occasional "screen fog" due to lightning strikes in Rain storm.[/p]
  12. [p]Paused rain drops on room save/load.[/p]
  13. [p]Sneak not working during some cutscenes.[/p]
  14. [p]Chest save file duplication issue. This one was hard but really important![/p]
  15. [p]Some better button logic, hovering effects added on sleep screen.[/p]
  16. [p]Saving/Loading during initial tutorial no longer breaks tutorial.[/p]
  17. [p]Loading empty file no longer possible.[/p]
  18. [p]Crafting tab "Craft" button was not clickable occasionally. Now it's more consistent.[/p]
  19. [p]Moved "Beet Festival" to Saturday. Instead of 2nd thursday. It was too confusing.[/p]

  1. [p]Town Starvation! I have to get this one right. I don't want it to "kill" NPC's, as that may be too demoralizing. Instead, I will probably add a "Depraved state"[/p]
  2. [p]Depraved state. Where NPC's become hostile until subdued/captured or fed.[/p]
  3. [p]Building Houses upgrades[/p]
  4. [p]Building Town Decor/Functionality (Bridges, Forge, Market, etc)[/p]
  5. [p]More consistent Town homes.[/p]
[p][/p][p]With so much being done, I am sure I introduced double the bugs.[/p][p]That's just how game development goes sometimes though! Upcoming Besmirch Demo Patch

[h3]One week until Christmas![/h3][p][/p][p]I really was pushing to get an update out this week. However, some stuff is taking longer than expected. I will list what's upcoming and I'll try my best to get it out before the Holidays.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Upcoming Changes:[/h3]

  2. [p]Baron Loan Office.[/p]
  3. [p]Carpentry Shop.[/p]
  4. [p]Repair Town buildings.[/p]
  5. [p]Upgrading Houses.[/p]

[p][/p][p]The real delay is getting house upgrades and all these different things "pretty" in the UI.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]
  1. [p]Kikimora spawned during cutscenes.[/p]
  2. [p]Baron boss fight wouldn't occur some times. Due to Baron "dying" before fight. I can't make this stuff up...[/p]
  3. [p]Adjusted text spacing in Dialogue. May have more issues to fix.[/p]

Besmirch Demo Patch

[h3]Hello everyone![/h3][p][/p][p]It's been a while since I've posted any update news. There have been lots of changes happening quietly, I thought this would be a good time to compile all those new things.[/p][p]With the release coming up quick (May 11th). I need to start focusing on Full release changes. That still won't stop me from working on the existing demo that always is in need of TLC.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Major Demo Changes:[/h3]
  1. [p]New enemies. Kikimora, Wraith, Shadow Hands, Beholder Boss.[/p]
  2. [p]Wards (Crucifixes) are needed to sleep peacefully. Monsters have a chance to spawn if you don't place a ward on your table every night.[/p]
  3. [p]Time of demo content extended from 1 in-game week, to 2 in-game weeks.[/p]
  4. [p]Kikimora[/p]
  5. [p]Beet Festival event on the Thursday of the 2nd week. (The date is "12th" in-game).[/p]
  6. [p]UI updates, new clock, cleaned up notifications, more reactive Inventory/UI.[/p]
  7. [p]More difficult/fun "3 Days of Darkness" on the date of "13th" in-game. New Dark Day Enemies.[/p]
  8. [p]Final boss that occurs after "3 Days of Darkness". Still needs some work, but close enough.[/p]
  9. [p]Kikimora[/p]
  10. [p]New town homes and areas to the left and right of the Town Square.[/p]
  11. [p]Bridges.[/p]
  12. [p]A Graveyard outside of town, has diggable Graves and entrance to "Crypt".[/p]

Changing Launch Date

[p]Forgive me! I had really 3 options[/p]
  1. [p]Release a smaller project and just get it out there by end of October.[/p]
  2. [p]Early Access. I am not a fan of that and will try my best to avoid this option. As it's not good for the customer/my own motivation.[/p]
  3. [p]Delay the release and add a lot more exciting features.[/p]
I want to add a lot more, So I chose #3.
[p][/p][p]As exciting as it is to have more to add, it also is really time consuming. Especially these darned rotoscopes:[/p][p][/p][p]Here are some exciting new features I plan on adding that will can be expected soon.[/p]
  1. [p]Mansion exploration. Randomly generated corridors that reload upon entering. When food runs low you'll have no choice but to scavenge these cursed halls...[/p]
  2. [p]Hunger management. I'm adding a screen to choose how much each NPC gets to eat each day. Resources are limited. Who deserves to eat today? Who can survive another day without water?[/p]
  3. [p]Magic items. Many items that will mutate the player and playstyle. Masks that turn you grotesque and clothing that melts to your skin. Not very pretty, but definitely personalizes your character.[/p]
  4. [p]Winter. It'll be much more cold/frigid. Not as "cozy" as your average farming simulator.[/p][p][/p]
  5. [p]More "Apocalyptic". after the 3 days of darkness.[/p]
  6. [p]Multiplayer?[/p]
  7. [p]Voice chat?[/p]
  8. [p]Multiple endings[/p]
  9. [p]Supply/Demand based markets and stock markets.[/p]
  10. [p]Fishing[/p]
  11. [p]More cities[/p]
  12. [p]Much more[/p]
[p]So a lot... I think this would be worth a small day? Let me know what you think. I'm open to any options you all think are better or features you think are more important.
