Patch #1 - Save Game Rework
[p]Thank you for all the messages and everyone that played Game With Balls already! Obviously there are things that I didn't thought about when releasing the game and one of the things is how the game saves locally. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Patch Notes:[/p]
[/p]
- [p]Savegame is now tied to SteamID locally and in Steam Cloud. This makes it that it first looks who is logged into Steam and then loads the save associated with that account. [/p]
- [p]The old savegame (if exists) will be copied to the new savegame. At the moment I am not removing the old save from the folder so it will copy to any account that opens the game. In a future patch I will make sure to also remove this file, but just don't want to risk peoples progress yet! [/p]
- [p]Steam Cloud is now activated. New Steam Deck? Old save will be there![/p]
- [p]Not using same devices for Family Sharing? Then everything should work as is. [/p]
- [p]Using the same devices and never opened the game before this patch? Everything should work as intended.[/p]
- [p]Using the same device for Family Sharing and played the game before? Open the game with the account that you want the old scores and progress to show first. Then go to the save folder on the Steam Deck:[/p][p][c]/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3745250/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BallGame/Saved/SaveGames/
[/c]Make sure that you see save.sav and a .sav file with a number in front of it (this is your SteamID). Then move or delete the save.sav file. If you now open the game it will use the new save file and if another account on the same device plays the game it will create a separate save for that account.
This method also works if you play on Windows, but then the save games are in [c]C:\\Users\\\[USERNAME]\\AppData\\Local\\BallGame\\Saved\\SaveGames
[/c]If you use multiple devices together with Game With Balls? Make sure to not have the save.sav synced in the Cloud after the new save game is created. When logged into Steam you can check HERE if the file is synced with Steam Cloud. [/p]
