Two Fallout: London mod developers have been offered jobs at Bethesda

Bethesda has offered jobs to two developers that have been working on the incredibly impressive looking Fallout London mod.

Earlier this week (June 30), the Fallout London Twitter account had some news to share regarding the Fallout 4 mod. Specifically, that one of the developers working on the mod, Ryan Johnson, was leaving the team to go work at Bethesda as an associate level designer.

Johnson had served as the lead technical advisor on the mod, where he gave advice (as the name suggests) to the team's level designers. The announcement noted that the Fallout London team had known about the move for a while, so Johnson has apparently prepared some design documentation to help the rest of the team progress without any problems.

This Fallout 4 mod looks so good Bethesda just hired one of its designers

I imagine the dream for many modders, who largely work as volunteer developers, is to catch the eye of a big game studio and get a job there. It's happened with Valve in particular (it hired the modders who created Counter-Strike, Dota, and Team Fortress, just to name a few). Modder Brendan Greene was hired by Bluehole to create PUBG, Dean Hall went from contract worker to project lead at Bohemia based on his DayZ mod, Riot hired CS:GO pro and map-maker Sal Garazzo, who's now co-lead game designer for Valorant… the list goes on...

The Fallout TV show has cast David Lynch's muse Kyle MacLachlan as a regular

Amazon’s upcoming TV adaptation of post-apocalyptic RPG series Fallout has cast veteran sci-fi actor Kyle MacLachlan in an undisclosed role as a series regular. You may remember him from such roles as future emperor of the universe Paul Atriedes in David Lynch’s Dune, cafficionado Special Agent Dale Cooper in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, and for his turn in David Lynch's Oscar-nominated Blue Velvet. Please tell me David Lynch will at least direct the pilot.

Dismayed at the prospect of Fallout 5 not appearing for another decade or so? We feel your pain, but at least there's something Fallout-related to look forward to in the near future. Hidden Fallout 76 message claims Todd Howard is "amazing"

Fallout 76 and Fallout 4, Bethesda's vast, open-world games, are teeming with secrets to uncover. There's no telling what kind of stupefying wonders you might encounter in the Wasteland - Deathclaws, Assaultrons, and now a secret message claiming that studio head and director of the upcoming Starfield, Todd Howard, is "amazing".

That's right. In both Fallout 76 and Fallout 4, if you can find a poster of the periodic table of elements, use a scoped weapon to zoom in, and then maybe squint your eyes a little, you can just about make out a lovingly worded dedication to Todd Howard and his videogame-making prowess. This is the message in full:

"Todd Howard is amazing in everything his hands touch - no kidding".

You can find this poster, and its hidden tribute, in a few locations. In Fallout 76, it's on the Nukashine, in the basement of Big Al's Tattoo Parlour in Morgantown. You can also find it in the Overseer's home in Sutton, and in Foundation, inside the trailer belonging to Ward.
