DBD adds second map to kill switch list after new exploits discovered

It seems the scariest thing in Dead by Daylight isn't the Entity or the gaggle of killers hunting for your blood, it's the issues that seem to be falling over each other to appear following the most recent patch and associated game engine upgrade. As if by magic, another problem has hit DBD, this time ensuring that the Garden of Joy map has had to be temporarily disabled.

  • The tentative fix is now live on Windows Store, PS4, PS5, Switch and Xbox.

  • Tentatively fixed an issue causing strobing / flashing white lights.
  • This fix is applied to Steam and Epic Game Store initially.


Please advise if you continue to encounter the flashing lights after downloading the hotfix in the Steam discussion thread.

New DBD patch causes photosensitivity problems for players

The latest Dead by Daylight patch has launched and it's probably one of the most impactful updates the game has ever seen. That's not so much for the introduction of new twists on killers like The Twins or The Blight or various perks receiving changes, but due to the game engine being updated to Unreal Engine 5. Despite promises that the technical update wouldn't change the game experience, DBD is currently looking a little ragged around the edges with a few issues, and one big one in particular, causing problems for players.
