Achievements and Japanese Language Support Added!

Achievements have been added along with Japanese language support. You may need to reinstall the game if you haven't received this update. The current version is 1.2 and can be checked in the game's folder.

Also, this is probably annoying but while this game now has a Japanese translation, I'm currently unable to properly translate everything on the store page. This is due to this game not having any text displayed outside of the menus and loading screens, so I only needed to translate those to make a Japanese version of this game. I will translate the store page when I'm able to.

Thank you for all of your patience and support!

Hinedere Beat - Now Available

My latest game is now available on Steam!

Since it is possible that this post may be read in places where the above widget wouldn't be displayed, Hinedere Beat is a pseudo 8-bit, quasi-cinematic platformer with minor stealth elements and visual novel-style storytelling. Much of the platforming is parkour-influenced, progression is linear, and its story is one of cynicism.

Adding additional information that would probably be more obnoxiously unnecessary to post anywhere else, I created all of the artwork using the NES/Famicom color palette with the two alterations I made to it. I composed a chiphop soundtrack for it as well. Also, new concepts I’ve never used before are used in this game and I’ve put focus into creating levels that make use of them. The difficulty level is also a bit lower than most of my previous games. Like all of my previous games, I developed it entirely by myself.

Gameplay itself is influenced by the original Prince of Persia, earlier Castlevania games, as well as other 8-bit platformers and to a lesser extent, older Metal Gear titles. For nearly everything outside of gameplay, I was influenced by anime such as the Monogatari series, The Tatami Galaxy, Penguindrum, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Oregairu. Just about every SHAFT-produced anime that I’ve seen had also influenced me in one way or another.

Please do take a look at it if any of that interests you.

HIKIBYOU2 - Vote on Greenlight!

My newest game, HIKIBYOU2, is currently on Greenlight for voting. Please do take a look at it through here.

HIKIBYOU2 is an action/adventure platfomer with puzzle and stealth elements. A bit of what differentiates itself from the first title in the series, Hikikomori No Chuunibyou, is this successor's less realistic approach and more atmospheric vibe. Levels are once again open-ended with the story directing the player.

Like all of my other games, I developed it in its entirety on my own.
