A quick look at the departure board:[/p]
  • 3,859 players played the demo during Next Fest
  • 971 of them played and wishlisted the game right away
  • In total, more than 7,000 (!!) players now have our game on their wishlist.

[p]Those are fantastic numbers and we're thrilled! On top of that, we also received tons of new suggestions and ideas on how to make the game better – on Discord, in the Steam Community and through our feedback form. We're currently going through all of it and taking it as inspiration for the ongoing game design. Thank you for that![/p]

[h2]🛫 So What's Next? 🛬[/h2][p]
Once the design is finalized and we've estimated the remaining development time, we'll announce the exact release date. We can already confidently say that the release is still on track for Q2 of this year – no delays in sight :)

[h3]🧽 Automation for Airline Stickers[/h3]
[p]A new sorter with two outputs: one for suitcases with a valid airline sticker and one for suitcases with an invalid sticker.[/p]


[h3]🤖 Automation for Baggage Carts and Green Scanner Machine[/h3]
[p]An automatic scanner for validating baggage (green) as well as a baggage thrower that can automatically load baggage carts.[/p]

[p]Starting now, you can unlock Jumbo suitcases, which earn you significantly higher income per piece than conventional baggage.[/p]


[h3]🛫 New Upgrade for the Airport Sorter[/h3]
[p]You can now unlock an upgrade for the Airport Sorter that allows you to filter by two destination airports.[/p]


[h3]🚧 Faster Automation 🚧[/h3][p]We increased the base speed of all conveyor belts and machines. To illustrate, here's a conveyor line with one upgrade each before and after the changes.[/p]
  • Sorting machines now work faster, especially at the beginning of the game.
  • Straight conveyor belts and large conveyor-belt curves are now 33% faster.
  • Turntables now rotate within one second instead of 1.5 seconds.
  • Suitcases now cross bridges within 3.5 instead of 4.5 seconds.

[h3]🌻 Improvements for Plants🌻[/h3]

  • Giving plants love (upgrading them) now also improves their contribution to the decor level.
  • Plant upgrades now go up to level 7 instead of only up to level 4.

[h3]🎨 New Colors for Conveyor Belts🎨[/h3]

  • There are two new colors: Pink and Yellow.
  • The railings of straight conveyor belts and large curves are now colored as well.
  • It is now possible to color the conveyor belt of the substance sniffer.

[h3]🧹 New Skill: Janitor 🧹[/h3]
[p]For every skill point you invest in Janitor, you will receive +50 XP and +$10 whenever you dispose of trash or mop the floor (two points were invested in the clip below).[/p]


[h3]🕶️ Improvements for Rolf 🕶️[/h3][p]Rolf has "recalculated" his payouts once again. We improved his quality upgrade: per upgrade rank, you now get at least $10 more than before. In the image above, the upgrade is at Rank 3.[/p]

[h3]🐞 Bug Fixes🐞[/h3]

  • Package delivery can now be automated: If a conveyor belt is placed on the X on the floor, packages are caught out of the air and placed onto the belt, and Horst waits with the next throw until there's free space. (Previously, the problem was that the packages wouldn't stay on the belt or would knock each other off.)
  • Packages thrown into a baggage exit are no longer destroyed; instead, they reappear directly above the player's head and fall down.
  • In languages without latin letters, text that should have been readable on some of the TV screens, was invisible.
  • The elevated conveyor belt that could be unlocked through an upgrade at the dog was often the reason suitcases got stuck on what seemed like a straight conveyor-belt section.
  • It was possible to rotate the camera view while the feedback form was open.
  • Sometimes Rolf would examine suitcases in his absence and grant extra money.
  • It was possible to draw on whiteboards while the menu was open.
  • It is no longer possible to accidentally draw on whiteboards while holding the mouse button and walking by, for example while carrying baggage.
  • It could happen that the quest to find illegal substances with the sniffer could not be completed if the automation for the dog was unlocked beforehand.
  • After closing the feedback form the game was in a bugged state until the menu was opened and closed again.
  • It is no longer possible to build an endless UP farm. A machine now only grants UP progress once per suitcase, not over and over again.
  • Scanning a baggage item no longer grants XP multiple times.
  • Flipped conveyor belts no longer reverse direction after being upgraded.
  • Fixed city name labels overflowing on the Terminal 2 receiver in languages with longer names (e.g., Portuguese).
  • Fixed baggage occasionally not being picked up by storage.
[h3]✨ Quality of Life ✨[/h3]

  • To better distinguish packed building parts, there is now a hint showing the part's name while you carry it around in a package.
  • When you look at a sorter or any other building part that isn't a conveyor belt, a hint with the part's name is now displayed as well.
  • When suitcases are placed onto a table by a machine, the tag is now automatically rotated to match the table's orientation.
  • The default mouse speed has been reduced by 40%.
  • You can now use the mouse wheel to rotate buildings while placing them.
  • Suitcases can now be rotated both with the R key and with C.
  • It is now possible to interact with doors when you carry parcels or baggage.
  • XP & UP popups have subtler sounds, better-formatted text, and a subtler presentation when many popups appear within a short time or at a large distance from the player.
  • Build quests now include explained quest steps for clearer guidance.


[h3]⚙️ Miscellaneous ⚙️[/h3]

  • The plant "Rüdiger" has been improved and now provides 10 XP instead of 1 XP per upgrade level every 60 seconds.
  • Another plant "Kevin" that gives you a money bonus can now be bought after being promoted to trainee.
  • The number of invalid suitcases per flight is no longer always one, but now varies randomly to make things more interesting.
  • Additional suitcases now arrive between flights: starting at one every 15 seconds. The interval between suitcases decreases by 3 seconds for each promotion you've unlocked.
  • The trash can has been given a fresh coat of paint and now indicates that you get money back for disposing of packages.
  • Removing columns is much cheaper at the beginning and gets more expensive the farther back the column is in the hall.
  • For every skill point invested in Merchant you now get back 6% of the money instead of 2%.
  • For every skill point invested in Technician you now get reduce the price of upgrades by 8% instead of 4%.
  • The cost of the second upgrade of all sorter machines was reduced by $200.
  • Deko-Denise's email now points out that plants can be improved.
  • We have reduced the amount of upgrades for conveyors from 5 to 3, but increased the speed boost each individual upgrade unlocks.
  • The joke of the day has been added in Japanese with voice acting.
  • When a machine's output ends on a table, suitcases are rotated so that their front faces the front of the table, making them as easy as possible to process further.
  • New quest for substance sniffer automation, helping players discover this feature more reliably.
  • Airport Baggage Simulator now has, in addition to English, its own logo and title translation in the following languages: German, Japanese, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, Czech, Russian, Spanish, and Italian.
  • Special thanks to Rusty Champaign, the YouTuber with the most-viewed video about the 0.2 update. To honor that, we added Champaign (CMI) as a new destination airport for Terminal 2.

[p]This is Günther Gewinn speaking. Thank you for your positive and numerous reactions to Version 0.2! We have been carefully gathering feedback and decided to roll out one more update before Christmas![/p]

[h3]📉 Balancing & Upgrades📉[/h3]
[p]To make getting started with automation easier and more interesting, we have reduced the cost of upgrades and significantly increased the speed at which UP is earned in the beginning. Additionally, storage is now more affordable.[/p]
  • The first 36 UP points are now easier to earn
  • UP costs for machine upgrades have been reduced (halved for upgrades 2 and 3)
  • Price for storage reduced from 650 to 350


[h3]📦 The Dispenser 📦[/h3]
[p]We have added a new machine: The Dispenser. This machine places items onto workbenches in a controlled manner.[/p]


[h3]🧳 Workflow Improvement 🧳[/h3]
[p]We have adjusted the orientation of suitcases as they exit machines to allow for a smoother workflow.[/p]
  • Baggage is now rotated by default when leaving machines so that the tag points 90 degrees to the right, which in most cases means it faces the player
  • Exception: At the red exit of the Lost & Found machine, the rotation was deliberately inverted because it is more practical for the common setup at the start of the game (see below)


[h3]⚙️ System & UI ⚙️[/h3]
[p]Minor adjustments to the gameplay and user interface.[/p]
  • The game now pauses completely while the pause menu is open
  • New Demo Key Art integrated into the start screen
  • Additional tips added to the pause menu, e.g., recommending the use of a distributor to balance the load and generate more UP.

[h3]⚙️ Machines ⚙️[/h3]
[p]We’ve given the machines a fresh coat of paint and added several new ones to automate tasks such as load balancing, baggage sorting, and scanning.[/p]
  • New sorters for baggage type, label color, destination airport, and illegal substances
  • Load balancing with splitter and merger machines for parallel conveyor belts
  • Machines now show a status light and progress bars on multiple sides while working
  • Machine speed can now be upgraded
  • We improved the build preview for machines
  • There are now machines that let you automate baggage scanning

[h3]🚧 Conveyor Belts and Bridges 🚧[/h3]
[p]We’ve replaced the bridge and the 1m curve with sturdier variants. In addition, we added a taller bridge variant as well as a larger 2m radius curve.[/p]
  • Bridge and 1m curve replaced with sturdier versions (suitcases get stuck or roll off less often)
  • New taller bridge variant you can walk underneath
  • New 2m radius curve for more varied designs
  • Conveyor belts can now be colored
  • We fixed conveyor belts running slower on high-end PCs with unlimited FPS (they are now FPS-independent and always run at the same speed)

[h3]🐕 Substance Sniffer 🐕[/h3]
[p]The substance sniffer can now be integrated into the automation system and has a new resting spot, plus a few small interactions.[/p]
  • Baggage is now marked with red or green paw stickers while being sniffed, indicating whether a substance is inside
  • A separate machine can then sort incoming baggage by these paw stickers
  • Automation upgrade enables direct connection to conveyor belts
  • You can now pet the dog
  • The dog bowl can now be refilled once per day
  • The doghouse is gone; instead there’s a nice big mat so you can see and pet the good boy from all sides

[h3]🕶️ Rolf – Improvements and Upgrades 🕶️[/h3]
[p]We’ve given Rolf a selection of general improvements with the goal of enabling automation of suitcase hand-ins to Rolf and ensuring that money earned from substance suitcases remains meaningful later in the game.[/p]
  • New upgrade system with speed, quality (shows payout range), and daily capacity upgrades
  • Rolf now also appears on Tuesdays
  • Rolf now has a daily limit of baggage he can process (upgradeable)
  • Room connection between delivery room and main hall unlockable via upgrade
  • Rolf keeps working and collects money from multiple suitcases when you present him with a stack of baggage

[h3]🛫 Airport Fantasy and Control Exits 🛫[/h3]
[p]We’ve introduced gates with animated baggage carts and rolling doors, as well as new baggage exits for the different controls. The goal is to create a stronger sense of real airport work.[/p]
  • New gates with animated rolling doors and baggage carts driven into the hall by airport staff
  • View of the outside area with runway and more airport atmosphere
  • Incoming baggage now always belongs to a specific flight at a gate and no longer appears endlessly on the conveyor belt
  • Each invalid baggage type—i.e., each control you use to sort out baggage—now has its own exit from the terminal
  • Each flight has a scheduled time; at that time the baggage cart departs automatically
  • “Last flight of the day” system ensures you can finish the remaining work before the day ends
  • Gates can be upgraded to receive more baggage per flight

[h3]🔼 Upgrades 🔼[/h3]
[p]We’ve introduced a new upgrade system. Running machines generate Upgrade Points (UP), which you can spend on these upgrades.[/p]
  • New upgrade system for machines, conveyor belts, upgrades at Rolf, and some environment objects (for example, remove the pillars in the center of the room via an upgrade to gain more space)
  • New currency: Upgrade Points (UP), generated by running machines
  • Upgrade UI shows available upgrades when you look at upgradeable objects

[h3]🌿 Decoration 🌿[/h3]
[p]You can visit Denise, the decoration lady, to buy plants, wall textures, and floorings. Decoration not only gives the terminal a fresh look, but also provides progression.[/p]
  • New decoration room with Denise, comes with the third room expansion
  • Denise sells plants, wall textures, and floorings
  • The more decoration you place, the higher your “Deco Level” becomes. Each Deco Level increases your income by 5%
  • Different plants also grant XP, UP, and money bonuses (1-minute cooldown)
  • Plants can be improved with upgrades

[h3]📈 Skills / Progress 📈[/h3]
[p]We added new skills. Also, there is now a bouncing arrow and a friendly sound when you level up.[/p]
  • New skill: UP bonus
  • New skill: Reduced upgrade costs
  • New skill: Refund on shop deliveries
  • Bouncing arrow in the skill panel indicates available skill points
  • XP is now granted immediately upon confirming a delivery, not only after the cart departs

[h3]📦 Baggage & Physics 📦[/h3]
[p]We focused on automation stability and fixed many issues where baggage got stuck, was lost, or blocked machines. You can now also throw baggage and packages, and there are a few improvements to make handling baggage easier![/p]
  • You can now throw baggage and packages
  • Baggage snaps into free slots in the baggage cart
  • Baggage rotates in the expected direction when leaving machines
  • Numerous edge cases with triggers, deactivation, and baggage getting stuck between machines fixed
  • Issues with baggage spawning and persistence after loading save games fixed

[h3]🔨 Building, Terminal & Workbenches 🔨[/h3]
[p]Once you’ve completed the work instruction, you can now freely move your workbenches! We also added placement validation and worked to make building feel better overall.[/p]
  • Workbenches can be moved once the work instruction is completed
  • Validation prevents placement in invalid positions
  • Preview is now visible when looking straight ahead and snaps to the grid at maximum distance
  • Direction arrows for corners and other direction-dependent buildings
  • Green and red scanner tables are now two separate objects
  • Scanner tables snap correctly to the grid and can be cleanly placed against walls
  • Green scanner table displays valid destination airports on a screen
  • Various edge cases with outlines, upgrades, and controls fixed

[h3]🎮 UI, Quests & Extras 🎮[/h3]
[p]We redesigned the UI and added full controller support. There’s also a streamlined tutorial and, fitting with promotions that unlock new things, you now have milestone quests. In addition to many other small improvements, we also added a screenshot mode.[/p]
  • The game is now fully playable with a controller
  • UI redesign with improved colors, fonts, layout, and overlay canvas
  • Screenshot mode added (usable with [F6])
  • New milestone quests with multiple objectives
  • Streamlined tutorial with better pacing and fewer interruptions
  • Shop UI reorganized with tabs and newly arranged items in the order they are unlocked
  • Additional music tracks added that you can switch between on the radio
  • 20 voice-acted “jokes of the day” in German, English, and French
  • Rolf, Horst, and Denise are temporarily wearing festive Christmas hats
  • In the pause menu you can now read useful gameplay tips

[h3]🟣 Twitch Integration 🟣[/h3]
[p]We added a Twitch integration for streamers. With the chat command “!baggage,” chatters can register their names on incoming baggage, and with “!jump” they can make their baggage jump for entertainment—without significantly disrupting the streamer’s gameplay.[/p]
  • Twitch chat usernames are displayed on baggage
  • Chat can make its baggage jump
  • Streamer mode and individual Twitch integration features can be enabled or disabled in the settings

[h3]🧹 Mop 🧹[/h3]
[p]We added a mop to loosen up the core gameplay a bit and give you a nice way to earn extra XP.[/p]
  • You can pick up the mop at one of the two cleaning stations and wipe away dirt in the terminal
  • Cleaning grants a considerable amount of XP
  • More dirt appears depending on your expansion progress

[h3]🏢 Environment & Trash 🏢[/h3]
[p]We made many small changes to the environment and collision physics so things look better and are less annoying while walking around and handling suitcases. We also distributed collectible trash throughout the entire terminal for variety and as another small source of XP and money.[/p]
  • Collectible trash distributed throughout the entire terminal (one-time cleanup rewards)
  • Improved colliders throughout the terminal to prevent baggage from getting stuck or lost
  • A total of four room expansions to unlock in the demo
  • Various visual fixes to walls, room connections, and other objects

[h3]🖊️ Whiteboard 🖊️[/h3]
[p]We added whiteboards where you can doodle and get creative.[/p]
  • Whiteboards placed near Lost & Found and in the hallway
  • You can draw with a black marker and also clean the whiteboard again
    (If you’ve created a particularly nice masterpiece, feel free to take a picture of it (Screenshot mode with F6!) and share it on Discord. When you close the game, your artworks will be wiped away by the cleaning staff—so immortalize them beforehand! :D)

[h3]✨ Quality of Life ✨[/h3]
[p]We made many small improvements.[/p]
  • Hand scanner range increased from two to four meters
  • Doors now always open away from you
  • Shifts can be paused and resumed. While paused, no new flights arrive or depart and time stands still
  • A yellow marker reminds you at 9:00 AM to start your shift
  • Money popups now only appear for manual deliveries, not automated ones, to reduce UI clutter (you still get the money, of course)
  • TVs above invalid baggage conveyor belts display simplified content from a distance for better readability
  • Ambient sounds and UI sounds have been revised in many places
