Your Final Fantasy XIV inventory is full. Chocobo saddlebags? Full. Armoury chest? Full. Retainer inventories? Full. There's no escaping it. Once you've played FFXIV long enough, every inventory option you've got will be stuffed to bursting. The devs are making some changes to help address that for Endwalker, so say goodbye to a whole lot of HQ item types.

As of the 6.0 patch for Endwalker, you will no longer get HQ versions of gathered items, enemy drops, token exchange materials, and certain non-craftable materials. (You'll still be able to craft HQ items and collect HQ gear, however.) That naturally means that quests, challenges, and achievements will be adjusted for the new item distribution.

This also means that certain actions and attributes will be adjusted for gathering classes, since you'll no longer need to worry about gathering HQ materials. Instead, those actions will allow you to gather more of the items in question. Fishers will have a "different parameter" for these abilities to effect, as the devs say in the recent Live Letter - it seems they're still deciding what to do here, but it may affect the size of your catches.

There's a new PvP mode coming to Final Fantasy XIV as part of this year's upcoming Endwalker expansion, and nothing is really known about it as it hasn't yet been shown off. Well, Square Enix has confirmed that the new Endwalker PvP mode will finally be revealed in the next Letter to the Producer stream.

When the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion was revealed in February this year during a special showcase stream, game director Naoki Yoshida briefly mentioned that it would be introducing a brand new PvP mode. As noted by Nova Crystallis, this would be a smaller-scale mode than Final Fantasy XIV's main Frontline PvP mode - although larger than Feast - and is going to be more casual-orientated.

This mode will remove role restrictions so it'll make matchmaking easier, and while a bit more straightforward and casual Square Enix still hopes to keep the gameplay immersive and addictive. It'll also feature a new type of reward system that won't just revolve around gear, and might not revolve around only killing opponents.

In the latest Letter to the Producer stream for Final Fantasy XIV, as promised director/producer Naoki Yoshida has detailed all the job changes coming in this year's Endwalker expansion - including the first proper gameplay and details for the new Reaper and Sage classes.

The Reaper is a scythe-wielding melee class that's a lot darker and more sinister than the other job classes, as it can summon a demon to aid them in battle. The Sage is a lot nicer by comparison - a barrier healer class similar to the Scholar, and the fourth healing character in the game. However, fans haven't heard too much about these classes so - other than the Sage's icon causing phobic attacks.

The new Letter to the Producer stream (chronicled by Nova Crystallis) went into detail on all the changes to the various job classes coming in the Endwalker expansion, but also showed the first proper gameplay look at both the Reaper and Sage classes in action.
