[p]Hello and welcome to the Tower Unite Dev Log for October 21st, 2025![/p][p]It’s been a while since the last dev log, so we hope you all have been doing well.[/p][p]Since the last Dev Log, we started the Halloween events for this year, started our Suki plush campaign, have been working on adjustments to unit payouts, and other fixes![/p][p]We’ve also been still making progress on our outside-of-Tower project and hope to have an announcement for that soon![/p][p][/p]
Halloween Events
[p][/p][p]Halloween events are ongoing in Tower, so hop in if you want to enjoy the seasonal festivities![/p][p]There are new items to celebrate the season including additions to the Victorian furniture set, spooky cosmetics, and much more![/p][p]We’ve also adjusted some pricing at the Ghoulcery story after player feedback, so enjoy discounted prices on profile backgrounds![/p][p]Check out the event details here![/p][p][/p]

Makeship Suki Plush Campaign Started
[p][/p][p][/p][p]The Suki plush is available to order from Makeship![/p][p]It’ll be available for a limited time so be sure to check it out if you’re interested![/p][p]Sales of the plush directly help the continued development of the game, so we greatly appreciate all the help funding the plush that we can get![/p][p][/p][h2]Early Access Player Rewards[/h2][p][/p][p]Early Access Player Items have been made to thank you players who have been with us from early on! [p]The catsack, when squeezed, will swing its pickaxe like the image it’s based on![/p][p]When the items are ready (which we’ll announce), these rewards will be automatically distributed to anyone who played before the Early Access release.[/p][p][/p][h2]Optimizations[/h2][p]Lots of various optimizations were completed in regard to Arcade leaderboard screens, textures and skeletal meshes, lighting, and other areas of the Plaza![/p][p]We’ve made changes to reduce shadow calculation costs by adding a shadow proxy system.[/p][p]As for Condos, we’ve gone through a lot of various and commonly used items and IO logic items and optimized them. We’re also working on a full Condo IO optimization pass behind the scenes, which we hope will reduce overall IO expenses in Condos.[/p][p][/p][h2]Leaderboard Improvements[/h2][p]Behind the scenes, Sabrina has been working on a new way to load and display Leaderboards in-game to help improve performance in the Arcade and Boardwalk. This new leaderboard system displays the leaderboards to an image that can also be shared outside of the game as well![/p][p]Not only does the new leaderboard system help with performance (especially in the Arcade), but it also has built in mechanisms to prevent leaderboard cheaters from ever showing up.[/p][p][/p][h2]VR Scaling[/h2][p]As we make progress on VR support, the scale of various Plaza store entrances has been adjusted for a better experience for VR players! These scale changes were made as we play tested VR and found several of the entrance ways or rooms to be a bit too cramped, something you can only notice while in VR.[/p][p][/p][h2]Dark Voyage Fixes[/h2][p]With the spooky season in effect, we’ve been giving some love to Dark Voyage to improve the experience, fix bugs, and resolve some performance issues![/p][p]We’ve added more targets, specifically in the mansion and laboratory areas, fixed issues with sounds and post processing effects.[/p][p][/p][h2]General Bug & Crash Fixes[/h2][p]Some general bugs were fixed with weapons, NPCs, T-Posing, the Nightclub Brightness setting, game pad buttons for tutorials, Halloween Event fixes, and much more.[/p][p]Several crashes have been fixed, including a player model crash, a Condo sorting crash, several UI crashes, and an Arcade crash![/p][p][/p][h2]Payout Adjustments[/h2][p]We’ve been listening to player feedback on payouts in the game, and we are planning on doing a survey soon to get more direct feedback about payouts and pricing in Tower Unite.[/p][p]For now, there have been some payout increases to Laser Tag, pricing adjustments to Ghoul Coin items, and plans to adjust SDNL as well as other Game World payouts.[/p][p][/p][h2]Nimbus Art Pass[/h2][p]An art pass on Nimbus has been completed! Nuclearxpotato has been working on updating the look of this long-standing map to give it a fresh feel. Nimbus was the first level we created for Ball Race in Tower Unite and was long overdue on some love.[/p][p]Various moving objects no longer have “programmer art” and have their own unique models.[/p][p]Nimbus also now has its own bonus level, something that was missing from it compared to the other Ball Race maps.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]SDNL Fixes[/h2][p]Various fixes were also made to some issues in SDNL, such as fixes to the BERT gun, disabling player collision, ragdolling, and announcement issues. We’re continuing to address issues with SDNL and are focused on bug fixes going forward. We are also investigating the invisible player spawn issues and weapon loadout issues for hosts.[/p][p][/p][h2]Updated Rules[/h2][p]We’ve updated our Rules to be more clear and easier to read, and consolidated them on our Guides page so you can easily find it, along with clear guides on how to Report Players and Condos.[/p][p]Here is the link to the new permanent location: Rules.[/p][p]We’ll continue to keep the rules and report guidelines up-to-date so we can all keep Tower Unite a safe place for everyone to enjoy.[/p][p][/p][h2]Winter 2025 Items![/h2][p][/p][p]New Winter Holiday items are being made! [p]Hello everyone, and welcome to the Tower Unite Dev Log for August 27th, 2025! Current Development Goals!
[p]Right now we have several fun projects in motion for you all: the Arcade Phase: 3, Cooking, Halloween, Optimizations, and VR Support![/p][p][/p][h2]Cooking Development Progress[/h2][p]Cooking is the next major feature on our roadmap, and we’ve got some work to do to get it up to par! We’ll be finalizing the recipes for the initial cooking update, which will feature a broad assortment of basic recipes using the cooking items we have currently![/p][p]Future cooking updates will spice up the variety even more, as we hope to tackle some more basic cooking ingredients as well as more seasonal foods to create and enjoy![/p][p][/p][h2]Arcade: Phase 3: Development Progress Update![/h2][p]Arcade: Phase 3 is moving along steadily! Johanna has completed and continued 3D modeling artwork on several new machines, including the baseball game, the ball drop game, a car-push game, and more![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]wheezwer has completed the 2D artwork for “Raptor Rampage,” and will be starting work on the baseball cabinet next.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In recent updates, we’ve also fixed unreleased items having a purchase prompt in the arcade prize area![/p][p][/p][h2]Halloween 2025: Upcoming Items Sneak Peak![/h2][p]We’re gearing up for Halloween in Tower Unite, which is one of our favorite times of the year! This year we’ll have some new items, like placable cobwebs and updates to the Victorian furniture set, as well as some other exciting items we can’t wait to share.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Additionally, we’ll be doing some new Halloween Sprays and Profile Backgrounds![/p][p][/p][h2]VR Development[/h2][p]We’ve been getting back into some VR work recently, too. We’d like to get a couple fixes done for some existing VR issues, as well as tackle other desired features and necessary changes to the game like sizing issues and the like, along with IK arm movement and networking.[/p][p]VR support is a dizzying process both technically and physically with having to remove the headset for development, but we’re really excited for its potential! We’ll keep you all posted on progress with VR as it moves along.[/p][p][/p]
Recent Development Highlights
[p][/p][h2]New Items[/h2][p]Tons of new items and fixes for old items have been included in the most recent update![/p][p][/p][h3]Cafe & Pets Items[/h3][p]Tower now offers lots of very cute and sweet food options with the Cafe update, as well as various structural and furniture pieces to build your own Cafe settings in the Condos![/p][p]There are also quite a few new pet furniture items to play around with as of the most recent update, so be sure to check those out to make sure your pets are comfy cozy![/p][p][/p][h3]Game Worlds Port Panel[/h3][p]An addition you may have missed in the most recent update was the Game World Ports Panel: a placable panel for your Condo so you can queue up for Game World servers with friends![/p][p][/p][h3]Item Tweaks and Fixes[/h3][p]With the most recent updates, we’ve done an art pass on the chainlink fence item, as well as added some new features you should be sure to check out! Similar additions were added to the rope and cable items.[/p][p]We also have done various fixes to lighting, coloring issues, icon clarity, animations, sounds, and camera offsets![/p][p][/p][h2]Global Chat[/h2][p]With the release of Global Chat, we’ve been seeing a lot of use of the new feature, and we’re happy to say its been stable and running well since! We’ve recently updated it to fix quotation marks and are currently looking into adding unicode support.[/p][p][/p][h2]Optimizations[/h2][p]We’ve done plenty of optimization work with the most recent updates, including optimizing network load-in, collision meshes all throughout the Plaza, occlusion culling, and object counts![/p][p][/p][h2]UI Fixes[/h2][p]Various fixes were completed for UI and menu issues, mostly in the Workshop and Waiting for Players menus, but there were also some fixes to use prompts and loading screens as well! We're working on improving the UI for Steam Deck and fixing smaller elements on Steam Deck being hard to see.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
