v1.1 MAJOR Update! Rebalancing, Gameplay Book, and So Much More

[p]Hi everyone!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has played the game and shared feedback, whether through reviews or directly to us. It has been an intense week and a half, but I believe we’ve taken the game to a new level.

I hope you all enjoy the changes! Please let us know if you run into any issues or have further input over on our official Discord!
[/p][p]Lets get started on everything NEW![/p][p][/p]
What's New?
[p][/p]
Rebalancing
[p]The core of the feedback we received was about the gameplay loop itself. While our initial goal was a minimalistic, incremental experience, it became clear that players wanted something with deeper RPG mechanics.[/p][p]To address this, we have increased the max level from 40 to 80. We’ve rebalanced the game so that reaching the level cap isn't strictly required to progress. [/p][p]Levels are now much more impactful, and while thoughtful upgrading will help you move forward, it does not guarantees a win.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Gameplay Book
[p]The next bit of feedback to address is gameplay itself. [/p][p][/p]
Rules
[p]We also wanted to address the "how-to" side of things. Unless you already have a solid understanding of tabletop games and D20 mechanics, the game could be a bit confusing. To help with this, I’ve added a Gameplay Book and a Rules section.[/p][p]It explains the base mechanics. I’ll be expanding this as we go, but it should provide much-needed direction for new players.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Bestiary
[p]We wanted to provide more detail on combat and your opponents. Once an enemy is defeated, you can now collect their card in the Bestiary. [/p][p][/p][p]Unlocking an enemy card also allows you to purchase a painted version of that monster's figurine using the new Monster Token currency earned in battle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Story
[p]In the Story chapter, you can now view and track your achieved endings at any time.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Quests
[p]The new Quest section allows you to track your in-game achievements.

Completing a quest now lets you collect a new Dice Skin reward![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Dice Skins
[p]Having a D20 and not being able to swap it out felt like a crime against tabletop RPGs, so we’ve added several skins you can earn through the Quest section.

To change your skin, simply click on the dice and use the arrows on either side of the name banner.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Event Feedbacks
[p]One area that felt a bit flat was the Event system. Previously, events lacked visual indicators unless you were watching the story panel closely.
[/p][p][/p][p]We’ve added significantly more visual "weight" to events so you know exactly when you’ve triggered one or when you're rolling for an outcome. [/p][p]We intend to add even more unique effects soon, but we wanted to get these improvements into your hands as quickly as possible.[/p][p][/p]
Ending Credits & Auto-Roll
[p]Previously, if Auto-Roll was active during the endgame, it would breeze right through the finale.

To ensure you get to experience the story properly, Auto-Roll will now automatically disable when it’s time to perform the final roll.

[/p]
Going Forward
[p]Now that this major update is complete, we'll be watching for your feedback to address any new issues that may have popped up.[/p][p]During this phase, we'll be gearing up for the final major update. This will add more polish to the events and a few other mechanics that we think will add a little more fun to the game.[/p][p]Thank you all for your time; we're looking forward to the next update![/p]

V1.01 Visuals+ Hotfix

[p]Hey everyone![/p][p]The past few days have been hectic, much like all new releases. I want to thank everyone who’s tossed the D20 around a bit, and I hope you’re finding something fun in its simplicity.[/p][p]We’ve gotten some feedback about a few visual bugs and this hotfix targets them. There are also a couple visual additions, but more on this later.[/p][p][/p][p]Let us know if you run into any new bugs, we do our best to test every build thoroughly, but with this stuff you just never know what can slip through.[/p][p] [/p]
Going Forward:
[p]We have an update coming, hopefully in the next couple days, that will add in a “Gameplay Book” which will contain some details:[/p]
  • [p]Rules: a few pages about gameplay that break down mechanics a bit.[/p]
  • [p]Bestiary: track enemies you’ve defeated.[/p]
  • [p]Story: Review the various endings you’ve unlocked.[/p]
  • [p]Quests (Achievements): View the achievements in the game.[/p]
[p] [/p][p]Thanks again![/p]
Fixes:
• [p]D20 would sometimes slide further and further to the side due to rolling in the middle of an animation. The “Roll” button is now a little more restricted when it’s shown so that this can’t happen.[/p]
  • [p]Opening the settings when the points were being animated would cause the number’s position to be offset.[/p]
  • [p]The buttons that had shaking animations had a sweet spot where you could cause them to vibrate violently, but now they’ve been reigned in.

    [/p]
Remaining Visual Bugs (Can be remedied by closing and reopening game. Fixes coming tomorrow):
• [p]If you have the upgrades menu open and then open settings and click the D20 it will cause the upgrade menu to get stuck closed.[/p]
  • [p]Opening settings menu when attacking an enemy can cause the health bar animations to get stuck.[/p]
