Early 2026 Dev Blog

[p][/p][p]Hello everyone! [/p][p][/p][p]We wanted to post a little update going over what we are working on currently, and what you all can expect in the future! Before we get into everything, we wanted to let everyone know that this blog post will be posted across 3 different locations; here, our website, and our Patreon. There may be slight differences in each post, and if you want to know when the BETA releases, you may wat to look closer at all 3 posts...[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
So What Have We Been Working On?
[p]Optimization:[/p]
[p]We have been honing in on asset management, lighting improvements, material alterations, and much more to make the gameplay experience not only fast, but also visually stunning.[/p]
[p]Bug Fixes:[/p]
[p]Throughout our development we have been keeping track of any bugs, and recently we have been going through and fixing them all, so that when we ship, the experience is clean. We have already tracked 26 different bug fixes![/p]
[p]Character Controller:[/p]
[p]We have been honing in on our character controller, to make sure movement feels fluid, and there are no weird interactions![/p]
[p]Level Polishing:[/p]
[p]We have been working tirelessly to make sure our prologue levels feel great, look great, and play great.[/p]
[p]Mechanical Progression:[/p]
[p]We have been implementing the core story mechanics, to not only help make the story feel non convoluted and linear, but also to promote investigation and curiosity, and for that to be rewarding to the player, you![/p]
[p][/p]
Playtesting Starts Soon!
[p]Yep, soon we will begin the playtesting for the prologue. If you are interested in taking part in this, find the application in our Discord server. When applying, be sure to state your system specs. The position has been up for a while now, and we have had many applications, but we do ask that if you have already applied, to please apply again! We currently have 4 positions open![/p]
[p][/p]
Journey of Discovery
[p][/p]
[p]This will be the Prologue of Interstitial, where we will meet our protagonist, Max, a young boy who wakes up one night to find his brother missing. This will contain an introduction and 2 levels, and will lay the groundwork for the rest of the game. Upon release, this will cost USD$5.99, but will be free to those who subscribe to our Liminal Pro Patreon tier. Some key art is included above, and our website will be updated to reflect additional art as well![/p]
[p][/p]
Demo
[p]While we have not publicly stated an official release date of our upcoming Closed Access DEMO, somewhere buried between the lines of this Dev Blog, and the ones we post on our other 2 platforms, you may find the exact date that it will be releasing, so happy hunting :)[/p]
[p][/p]
Looking Ahead
[p]We are planning to post a State of the Game sometime in May, where we will go more in depth on the Prologue, the lore, and the what you can expect from Interstitial. This will also come with some important announcements, and a roadmap, so be on the lookout for that![/p]
[p][/p]
A Thank You...
[p]We wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who has been supporting us through development. It is crazy to think that almost 2 years ago, I had a crazy idea to make a small little game in Unity, and now we are here, working on this beauty of a project in UE5, all while learning everything from the ground up, and you the community is making it well worth it. So thank you, and we cannot wait to finally show everyone our hard work.[/p]
