Chapter 1 – Person of Interest
  • Date: July 16, 2044
  • Location: Takahashi, Japan

Almost a year has passed since Hana Buric and Austin Harper helped Magnus Holter to escape Enigma's Moscow prison. The Resistance grew stronger, but it's still not powerful enough to wage a large scale war. That is why Magnus offered to capture a key asset of the enemy — James Todd Litteral, the leader on the National Patriot Activist Army. Litteral was one of the few people on the planet, who can provide the Resistance with Enigma's command center coordinates, allowing them to take out Enigma and its leader, Victor Blaze, in one fell swoop, and end its reign of terror.

The mission went surprisingly smoothly, even better than Hana had hoped for even though southern Japan turned out to be all but welcoming with local gangs and militia roaming everywhere. Despite the globalization trends of the early 21st century, the Okayama prefecture kept, for the most part, its traditional, rural way of life intact. However, even the most relentless and traditionalist of Japanese samurai had the need to arm themselves with cutting edge weaponry that Litteral was more than happy to provide in exchange for loyalty and, more importantly, protection.

Despite fighting their way through several groups of enemy troops, Hana’s forces managed to push the local gangs out of the local villages and the castle where Litteral turned out to be hiding. Led by Austin Harper, the Resistance Special Forces stormed the stronghold, capturing Litteral along with his retinue. As he was escorting the prisoner out, Harper promised Hana that he would make him talk.

Chapter 2 – Wandering the Mists
  • Date: July 16, 2044
  • Location: Shikotan, Japan

The info Harper managed to extract from Litteral placed Victor Blaze, Enigma’s leader, on Shikotan, a small island off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost region. Hana immediately dispatched Magnus Holter, who was already eager to pay Enigma back for his capture in Moscow. However, despite his best efforts, Harper was not able to make Litteral tell him any specifics of the place – a base was supposed to be located there, that much was sure, but when it came to its size or importance, that was something Litteral kept to himself.

The mists of the island dominated by a large mountain turned out to be most unwelcoming as Magnus’ forces came under attack from the NPAA almost immediately. Fighting through several groups of security confirmed to him what he suspected all along – this unassuming place was more than it seemed. At first glance, there was nothing on the island that would point to anything sinister going on, the area looked practically deserted save for several fishing installations, including a large port.

Following the trail of enemies indeed led Magnus to the foot of the mountain and a large set of doors hiding an elevator to Enigma’s innermost sanctum. Victor Blaze was here, of that Magnus was certain. There was only one thing left to do. With that thought, Magnus severed the radio connection with Hana.

Chapter 3 – Disaster
  • Date: July 16, 2044
  • Location: Tsushima, Japan

Later that day, back in Tsushima, the Resistance base Hana was planning the sorties from, was re-captured by Enigma forces that deployed several of the dreaded aerial warships. Hana’s ships, returning from the trip to Takahashi, immediately came under attack by Enigma with one of them being blown up en route to the base’s approach. The connection to Harper, who had stayed behind, was also severed.

With their whereabouts unknown and barely making the landing herself, Hana and her troops had no choice but to fight through the Enigma defenders to re-capture the base since the only viable way off the area was the flight of V-22 Osprey VTOL aircraft, operated by the Resistance.

They almost made it, the Ospreys were in their grasp, but Enigma managed to destroy them before the Resistance could take these valuable aircraft back. On the upside, Hana managed to get in touch with Harper, who confirmed that Litteral had escaped during the attack. Harper himself was beset by Enigma forces and could provide no assistance for that moment.

Desperate, Hana decided to play her last hand – she first captured the EMP guns that knocked out Harper’s ship and then used their cover to take over a landed Enigma warship in an attempt to stage a rescue for Magnus, who, she was convinced, was in trouble. During the fighting, Harper expressed his doubts about Magnus since he was aware of the Enigma files that he and Ryan Miller had captured in the United States. However, he wasn’t able to deter Hana’s desire for Magnus’ rescue and eventually grudgingly accepted that a rescue effort would have to be made. The two then set off to Shikotan using Hana’s stolen warship.

Chapter 4 – At Hell's Gate
  • Date: July 17, 2044
  • Location: Shikotan, Japan

Using the hijacked warship, Hana Buric and Austin Harper make their way to Shikotan only to discover what Magnus had seen the day before – a massive Enigma base in the middle of an old volcano, housing a previously unseen marvel of technology – Victor Blaze’s massive flagship.

They find Magnus Holter alive and in the middle of a battle with Blaze’s forces. Magnus is shocked at first to see them, but quickly realizes they have to work together to defeat Victor Blaze’s defenses and take down his flagship.

One by one, Blaze’s defenses are stripped away until the ship lies broken on the bottom of the volcano’s caldera. Magnus’s and Hana’s forces board the wreck with Magnus disembarking his vehicle and launching a hunt for Blaze himself. Cornered, Blaze fights like a man possessed but eventually succumbs to Magnus’ fury and is shot in the guts. As he bleeds out on the cold metal floor of his ship’s bridge, he wonders whether Magnus and Hana even know what they’ve done. Magnus, equally wounded, triggers the ship’s self-destruct mechanism and with his dying breath pleads with Hana to escape the base while she can.

She does so reluctantly, watching the carnage unfold underneath her as she escapes with Harper aboard their commandeered Enigma vessel. The entire area surrounding the island is covered in smoke and ash with a massive volcano erupting nearby. As the ship flies away from the place of Magnus’ final rest, Hana can’t help but feel melancholic about the fate of one of the greatest men she’d ever know – but deep inside, she feels something else as well, a primal dread of Blaze’s dire warnings. They should be celebrating, but the mood aboard the warship reaches new lows as the crew starts wondering why their base isn’t responding to their hails. In fact, nobody is...

Commanders, Enigma has fallen but your journey continues on. Now’s your turn to scavenge what you can from the remnants of Enigma’s Shikotan base during the Raid event. Don’t miss out on any valuables Enigma might have left behind in the rubble.

See you on the battlefield!
