List of Update 0.31.6098 Changes
Developer Diary: Upcoming Infantry Changes

Commanders!

As you already know, Update 0.32 will be a part of the Spirithaven season with its main feature being the Engima’s Legacy Battle Path campaign. That’s, however, not all that it’s bringing. In this update, we’ll be introducing a number of updates and improvements to the Mechanized Infantry feature and today we’d like to tell you more about some of them.
Updated Model Animations
The first feature and probably the one most noticeable at first glance feature we’ll be introducing will be the updated model animations of all the vehicles that carry Mechanized Infantry. Simply put, these vehicles will now have animated doors that will open with the troops disembarking realistically, the way they do in real life. Take a look at this small demonstration:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

All the vehicles with Mechanized Infantry – more than thirty 30 of them – are getting this upgrade. Not only will this change make the battlefield look more realistic, but it’s also tied to a lot of other model tweaks, checks and improvements.
Other Infantry Updates
Another thing that we wanted to do that’s related to the Mechanized Infantry feature is the update of some Commander skills in order to provide bonuses to Mechanized Infantry. However, instead of introducing a new Commander and making some other less popular commanders even more obsolete, we’ve decided to update one of the existing Commanders – Viktor Kirsanov – with a series of skills that will affect Mechanized Infantry. The upper left corner of his skill field will be overhauled to accommodate those and the commander will also become available for unlocking from the BMP-1 and BMD-1 AFVs.

And last but not least, we’ll be introducing a number of Infantry-related changes and fixes in the future, throughout the rest of the Spirithaven season:
 • We’ll be introducing the option to command your Mechanized Infantry to either move to the location of your choosing (by aiming your reticle at terrain) or to fire at the enemy designated by you (by aiming at the enemy) using a single key
 • All non-MBT vehicles (including TDs and LTs) that do not use ATGMs as the main weapon system will receive the option to fire machineguns as long as they don’t use autocannons, ATGMs or rockets as their main armament and have a machinegun modeled on them
 • HE shells from MBT caliber cannons will be more effective at killing infantry with splash, addressing the issue where some HE explosions wouldn’t harm infantry even if landing almost next to them
 • We will, of course, fix a number of Mechanized Infantry issues, including mechanics and animation

Please note that since the Infantry Command mechanics are planned to arrive at a later date after the launch of Update 0.32, we’ll tell you more about them in a separate article when the time is right. But until that time:

See you on the battlefield!

Maintenance - May 15

On the 15th of May 2020, starting from 8:00 CEST (14th of May, 11 PM PDT), the server will not be available for 5 hours due to the application of Update 0.31.6094

Please note that during this maintenance, we'll be removing the Gold that was incorrectly issued along with the WW2-themed skins.
List of Update 0.31.6094 Changes
Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 4
 • Changed the position of the drones in the final phase of the battle, increasing the space players have to maneuver
 • Increased the delay between the drones using their lasers to indicate they are about the fire and the firing itself
 • Fixed the drone movement animation to make it smoother
 • Increased the time it takes for enemy vehicles to capture objectives during the “Cover Magnus” phase from 15 to 21 seconds
 • The amount of damage Magnus’ tank takes every 5 seconds during the “Help Magnus” phase reduced on the Extreme difficulty from 1000 to 850
General Changes
 • Added a number of assets for the upcoming Enigma’s Legacy Battle Path
 • Added a large number of English localization fixes
 • Earlier on, certain SPG players lost some progress on these vehicles after their recent re-balance – in this update, we are compensating the lost progress
 • Fixed an issue where the K2 Black Panther MBT could penetrate pretty much any target with its stock gun installed, caused by the fact that an experimental roof-penetrating APFSDS round (previously removed for balance reasons) was unintentionally enabled for this gun’s APFSDS shell
 • Challenger 1: Fixed several visual model issues
 • T-14 Armata Hades: Fixed an issue where this tank’s hard-kill APS intercepted kinetic rounds in its passive mode
 • Fixed an issue where SPG players would sometimes not get the proper rewards for battle they were due
 • Fixed an issue where the SPG aim reticle would sometimes behave incorrectly after a respawn or when using support shells
 • Fixed an issue where the SPG aim reticle would sometimes behave incorrectly
 • Fixed an issue where the ATGM penetration indicator would sometimes appear white instead of red or yellow
 • Fixed an issue where the Desert Rat skin unlocked the APS module for the Challenger 2 ATDU

Offer: Type 99A2-140, VT-5, Vickers Mk.7/2

Commanders!

This week, we’ve prepared another set of attractive items for you:
 • Type 99A2-140 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • VT-5 Tier 9 Premium Light Tank
 • Vickers Mk.7/2 Vanquisher Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
Between May 14 and May 21, 2020, the following items will be available:
Type 99A2-140
The Type 99A2-140 is an experimental version of the most advanced Chinese Main Battle Tank in existence – the Type 99A. Unlike its production counterpart, however, it is not armed with a 125mm smoothbore, but massive 140mm smoothbore cannon. This is a theoretical upgrade to the vehicle – while the People’s Republic of China was considering upgrading the firepower of its Main Battle Tanks to face latest western and Russian MBT models, a 140mm gun was never installed on this chassis and was only mentioned in passing by certain Chinese sources. Now, however, your enemies will have the opportunity to experience what such a vehicle with you in command would be like to face in battle!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 99A2-140 is a rather unique Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is essentially a version of the progression Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT with one difference – the 140mm gun, trading its rate of fire for penetration and single shell damage. It is very fast and mobile (with its maximum speed being well over 90 km/h), protected by ERA and APS both and capable of using an acceleration-boosting active ability that pushes its engine far beyond the limits of common Main Battle Tanks. If used right, the vehicle is extremely deadly and one of the best Tier 10 MBTs on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.

The Type 99A2-140 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
VT-5
The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.
Vickers Mk.7/2 Vanquisher
The Vickers Mk.7/2 was one of the last members of the famous Vickers MBT British tank export series. It was built around the advanced Vickers turret (with a wide range of guns offered as options), combined with a modified Leopard 2 hull. A single prototype was built in 1985, but failed to attract any customers. The tank was never mass-produced but the lessons learned by Vickers from its development were used when designing the Challenger 2 MBT. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Vickers Mk.7/2 is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank with a special “Vanquisher” British-themed camouflage, well-armored in the best Albion tradition.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
