In Development: Bulsae-6

[p]Commanders![/p][p]The Rough Riders Battle Path is in its second half and it’s time to take a look at what’s coming after it’s over. The new Battle Path will feature a number of changes based on your feedback, but, before we talk about them in detail, we’d like to show you its first vehicle – the Bulsae-6 Tank Destroyer.[/p][p][/p][p]You might be familiar with the name already from the Cheonma-2 Main Battle Tank we introduced in the game earlier. Indeed, it refers to the Bulsae (“phoenix”) family of North Korean missiles that mostly seem to be various versions of existing Soviet (but also western) designs, covering pretty much their entire history. The versions are (as most things North Korean) not well documented but they very roughly go like this:[/p]
 • [p]Bulsae-1 missile for example is a version of the ancient Soviet Shmel missile from the very early 1960s (NATO codename AT-1 Snapper)[/p]
 • [p]Bulsae-2 refers to a copy of the Malyutka missile (NATO codename AT-2 Sagger)[/p]
 • [p]Bulsae-3 refers to a copy of the Fagot missile (NATO codename AT-4 Spigot)[/p]
 • [p]Bulsae-4 is an evolution of the same missile with some elements of the Russian Kornet[/p]
 • [p]Bulsae-5 is apparently a version of the Kornet as well[/p]
[p]The above is, of course, mostly a speculation (as are other such version lists). Information about North Korean vehicles and weapons is notoriously hard to come by and usually comes from North Korean parades, propaganda reels and “open source intelligence” (which usually means someone somewhere pulled something out of their behind).[/p][p]However, as speculative as this all is, some things can be agreed upon, such as that in 2018, North Korea unveiled a new long-range missile launcher on a six-wheeled chassis. The launcher doesn’t have an official designation (or at least none that is known) but is likely armed with a new version of the Bulsae missile with NLOS capabilities, which we decided to call Bulsae-6.[/p][p][/p][p]If rumors are to be believed, Bulsae-6 is basically a non-line of sight long range missile that works roughly the same way as Spike NLOS. It has a camera channel allowing the operator to hit targets well beyond the range of standard guided missiles (the estimated range is around 30 kilometers).[/p][p]Compared to standard guided missiles it’s larger and considerably more expensive, but it basically serves as a bridge between guided missiles and artillery. The Spike NLOS missile can work in fire and forget mode, but can also be manually guided by the operator via a fiber optic link.[/p][p]The wheeled chassis carries 8 missiles in a fully traversable launcher and is based on the M2010 APC.[/p][p]Unlike the missiles, the origins of the M2010 are not that mysterious. In 2001, North Korea acquired around 30 Russian BTR-80A IFVs and the M2010 (western designation based on the year of their public appearance) is a heavily modified version thereof. Most notably the turret is completely different – it’s manually operated and only armed with a heavy machinegun.[/p][p]The missile launcher uses a shortened chassis (only has six wheels) of the M2010. Western sources refer to it either by its year of appearance (M2018) or its missile designation (Bulsae). We decided to go with the latter.[/p][p][/p][p]The amount of produced vehicles is unknown (likely no more than a dozen), as is their use. One such vehicle was allegedly used during the war in Ukraine (and claimed destroyed) but the footage is of low quality so it’s unclear whether this even was the same type, let alone how effective it was in combat.[/p][p]In Armored Warfare, Bulsae-6 will be a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer.[/p][p]There isn’t much to say about its protection and mobility, which are both analogical to the BTR-82A, perhaps a bit slower. This isn’t a super-fast or agile vehicle, nor is it well-protected, featuring only smoke grenades and an unlockable soft-kill APS for its defense. But it doesn’t have to be because of its weapon system.[/p][p][/p][p]As you can probably guess already from our previous article, the main new feature of this vehicle will be first-person missile control.[/p][p]The vehicle will have two missiles. The classic Bulsae-6 missiles will be pretty monstrous tandem HEAT missiles with 1200mm of penetration and 1300 damage. These will use the usual ATGM mechanics. But the same missiles will also be available with first-person missile control. These will be considerably slower but more agile (so that they are easier to control mid-flight).[/p][p]Please note that you can only have one missile of this type in the air at any given moment so the fast rate of fire of the missile launcher (roughly 3 seconds between missile launches) can only be fully exploited when firing the classic missiles. Additionally, these missiles are still vulnerable to all sorts of APS mechanics.[/p][p][/p][p]This vehicle of the Battle Path will be well within the theme of sniping. You’ll be able to hunt your opponents at extreme distances or use your skill as an Armored Warfare veteran to guide your missiles over and through obstacles to make some of the coolest hits that can be made in the game.[/p][p]We’re all looking forward to your exploits and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

In Development: First-Person Missile Control

[p]Commanders![/p][p]With the Rough Riders Battle Path well in its second half already, it’s time to look at the main feature that’s coming as a part of the next Battle Path. And we promise that you’ll have some fun with this one – it’s called First-Person Missile Control.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]The core of the mechanic is fairly simple. As the demonstration video shows, upon firing a missile, your camera switches to the missile point of view and you are able to guide it directly by moving your mouse as usual.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]This mechanic is tied not to an active ability, but to the missiles themselves – the camera switches automatically upon firing the missile and switches back once the missile is destroyed. Please note:[/p]
 • [p]The vehicle is defenseless while the missile is in flight but you can switch back to the vehicle by pressing the camera switch key[/p]
 • [p]The missiles have limited flight duration (so you cannot fire from one end of the map to another) but their range is still substantial[/p]
 • [p]The missiles behave like regular missiles (that is, they cannot spot enemy vehicles), you have to rely on other players to do the spotting[/p]
 • [p]The mechanic is not tied to any particular warhead type[/p]
 • [p]Vehicles armed with these missiles will also have regular missiles or other weapon systems at their disposal, this won’t be the only tool in their arsenal[/p]
[p]What new vehicles are coming with this mechanic? Will some older vehicles receive the mechanic as well? Such questions will be answered in future articles. For now, let us know what you think about the concept and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

Scavenger Run is here!

[p]Commanders![/p][p][/p][p]tarting on October 10, you’ll be able to earn a major bonus to your next Gold purchase (even a truly massive one, like 80 percent) by participating in the Scavenger Run event.

In other words, in case you win such a bonus and buy 1.000 Gold, you’ll receive 1.800 Gold instead. And that can make one hell of a difference (please note, however, that the maximum amount of bonus Gold obtainable this way is 10.000 Gold).

Scavenger Run is, in its core, a very simple event. There are many ruined and abandoned objects across the world of Armored Warfare and your friendly neighborhood arms dealer ran across one of them.

You are now being hired to scout it out. On a small map, you choose one of three bases and then scout its three warehouses by clicking on them. Depending on your finds (determined randomly), you will receive a sizeable bonus to your next Gold purchase.

This event will be active for several days (the counter in Garage will always tell you how much time is left), so if you’re planning to stock on Gold for the next Battle Path or simply want to boost your progress right now, it’s the perfect opportunity to do so.

We hope that you’ll enjoy this new mechanic and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Offer: American Firepower

[p]Commanders![/p][p]Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:[/p]
 • [p]AbramsX Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank[/p]
 • [p]CATTB Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank[/p]
 • [p]Griffin 120mm Tier 8 Premium Light Tank[/p]
 • [p]Bradley AAWS-H Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer[/p]
 • [p]Stryker ADATS Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer[/p]
 • [p]Commander Loot Crate[/p]
[p]Between October 9 and October 16, 2025, the following items will be available:[/p][p][/p]
AbramsX
[p][/p][p]AbramsX is an advanced technology demonstrator. It was built as a private venture by General Dynamics Land Systems and unveiled in 2022 to show what the future of the Abrams MBT could look like. It is considerably lighter than a fully upgraded Abrams while retaining its protection levels and firepower thanks to its cutting edge systems. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the AbramsX is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. While still maintaining the basic Abrams line features such as a 120mm gun, it is considerably lighter and less armored. On the other hand it is also faster, more agile, stealthier, and features a 30mm autocannon that can reduce most light vehicles to a pile of scrap in seconds thanks to its new ammunition. As a result, this tank can dish out a lot of damage but requires careful and skilled gameplay.[/p][p]The AbramsX Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
CATTB
[p][/p][p]The CATTB Main Battle Tank was an experimental platform, developed as one of the early steps in the creation of a next generation Abrams Main Battle Tank, also referred to as the Block III Abrams, or M1A3. It was created in the 1980s as a response to the perceived threat of future Soviet super tanks and featured some truly advanced components, such as the XM291 dual caliber cannon that could switch between 120mm and 140mm calibers. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the development of this tank became unnecessary and the program was canceled in the 1990s. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the CATTB is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank and one of the most powerful and versatile MBTs around, devastating its opponents with its signature double-tap feature, allowing it to fire its cannon twice in short order. This allows it to drive around a corner, deal very high amounts of damage and then retreat back into cover, leaving the enemy reeling from the massive blow.[/p][p]This vehicle is available via Loot Crates, which drop CATTB parts. Collect 100 CATTB parts from these Loot Crates to assemble the whole vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Griffin 120mm
[p][/p][p]The Armored Warfare version of the Griffin Light Tank is based on an early 2016 tech demonstrator, intended to show the U.S. military during the AUSA 2016 conference that General Dynamics meant business. It was built as a private venture; effectively a scaled-up example of General Dynamics was capable of providing when it came to highly mobile vehicles with a lot of firepower for the U.S. airborne forces. The U.S. Army was impressed and the design has since evolved into what is generally referred to as the MPF Light Tank. You can read more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Griffin 120mm is a Tier 8 Premium Light Tank and a powerful, fast machine, armed not only with its 120mm cannon, but also with special ammunition types, making it deadly at any distance. Few Tier 9 vehicles can match its sheer ferocity on the battlefield.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Bradley AAWS-H
[p][/p][p]The Bradley AAWS-H Tank Destroyer was an attempt by Loral Vought to mount four kinetic guided missiles on an extendable arm while using the Bradley IFV chassis as a platform. Kinetic missiles were cutting edge tech back in the 1980s – unlike standard ATGMs, they destroyed the target by their kinetic energy instead of a HEAT warhead, accelerating to several times the speed of sound. There was little to no defense against them, although they did have some drawbacks, which was why they were never adopted in real life. You can read more about the vehicle in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Stryker ADATS
[p][/p][p]ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Commander Loot Crate
[p][/p][p]This week, we’ve prepared another special offer for you in the form of a brand new Commander Loot Crate, featuring, amongst other things, some of the rarest commanders in the game![/p][p][/p][p]This Loot Crate gives you the opportunity to obtain the following items:[/p]
