Between December 17 and December 24, 2020, the following items will be available:
Type 99A2-140
The Type 99A2-140 is an experimental version of the most advanced Chinese Main Battle Tank in existence – the Type 99A. Unlike its production counterpart, however, it is not armed with a 125mm smoothbore, but massive 140mm smoothbore cannon. This is a theoretical upgrade to the vehicle – while the People’s Republic of China was considering upgrading the firepower of its Main Battle Tanks to face latest western and Russian MBT models, a 140mm gun was never installed on this chassis and was only mentioned in passing by certain Chinese sources. Now, however, your enemies will have the opportunity to experience what such a vehicle with you in command would be like to face in battle!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 99A2-140 is a rather unique Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is essentially a version of the progression Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT with one difference – the 140mm gun, trading its rate of fire for penetration and single shell damage. It is very fast and mobile (with its maximum speed being well over 90 km/h), protected by ERA and APS both and capable of using an acceleration-boosting active ability that pushes its engine far beyond the limits of common Main Battle Tanks. If used right, the vehicle is extremely deadly and one of the best Tier 10 MBTs on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.

The Type 99A2-140 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

It is also available in a bundle with the following items (and a major discount):
 • Type 99A2-140 Tier 10 Premium MBT
 • Golden Dragon skin for the Type 99A2-140 MBT
 • 30 days of Premium Time
 • 9.000 Gold
AFT-10
The AFT-10 is a tracked ATGM carrier based on a ZBD-04 IFV hull that carries eight massive Red Arrow-10 guided missiles. In their latest version, these modern ATGMs are capable of devastating even the most modern MBTs at extreme distances and the AFT-10 was designed to do just that – to stop enemy assaults dead in their tracks. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the AFT-10 is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. Its massive ATGM launcher immediately draws comparison with another Tier 10 vehicle, the Kornet-EM. But where Kornet-EM is all about speed, stealth and missile ambushes, the AFT-10 is about one thing and one thing only – uncompromising firepower. It is capable of unleashing devastating missile salvos that can knock out even Tier 10 MBTs in seconds. Additionally, its missiles have a very high penetration value, which means that no matter the angle, no target is truly safe from its reach.

The AFT-10 Tier 10 Premium TD is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

It is also available in a bundle with the following items (and a major discount):
 • AFT-10 Tier 10 Premium TD
 • Commander Alisa Korhonen
 • 30 days of Premium Time
 • 9.000 Gold
VT-5
The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.
QN-506
The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.
Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.
Type 90
The Type 90 is the current service main battle tank of the Japanese Self-Defense Force. On the outside, it vaguely resembled the German Leopard 2, but inside, the vehicle’s completely different. It was adequately armed and armored for the time it was developed in, but what made it really stand out were its cutting-edge Japanese electronics and its hydraulic suspension, allowing the tank to tilt itself forward or backward, enhancing its gun elevation and depression beyond what the turret would normally allow. This trait was considered to be an important for Japan, as much of its landmass is covered by mountainous areas. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 90 is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it resembles the Leopard 2 and Abrams version of the same Tier. The difference between the Leopard and the Type 90 MBT lie in the presence of an automatic loading mechanism – otherwise, the firepower and protection levels is roughly the same with the Japanese tank having a little less armor, compensated by more module hitpoints. Overall, it is not the best-protected MBT on the battlefield, requiring careful long-range gameplay. However, the advanced electronics installed in this tank as well as its hydraulic suspension allow it to aim faster than all its class and Tier counterparts.

The Type 90 is also available in the Japanese bundle, which contains:
 • Type 90 Tier 7 Premium MBT
 • Japanese camouflage
 • Two Japanese decals
 • Japanese red flag

You can learn more about the Japanese camouflage in our dedicated article.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

Armored Warfare in 2020

Commanders!

Another year has passed in Armored Warfare with plenty of new vehicles, features, missions and other changes implemented over the course of the last twelve months. In this video, we’ll be taking a look at many of them.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

But what of the future? Not to worry, 2021 will be as exciting as 2020 – in a good way! But for now, have a merry little Christmas, commanders, and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

In Development: Commander Skill Updates

Commanders!

As you know, Update 0.33 brought a large number of changes to the game’s mechanics and these have worked, for the most part, well enough. However, Armored Warfare is a complex game and these changes came with some specific consequences that were left unaddressed – until now.

One of these consequences was that multiple commanders were left with less-than-useful skills. These included, for example:
 • Skills that increased the durability of fuel tanks (in Update 0.33, we removed the fuel tank modules altogether)
 • Skills that decreased the swap time between different shell types (in Update 0.33, we decreased this time across the board, in some cases to nearly zero)

And several others. In other instances, some commanders had pretty useless skills even before Update 0.33, which we are also addressing.

Initially, we solved this problem with a free skill reset for the affected commanders, but that has always been more like a stopgap measure. In the next Update 0.34 iteration, we are therefore replacing the affected useless skills by different, more useful ones. Today, we’d like to tell you more about these replacements. Without further ado – here they are.

Sabrina Washington – this commander featured two Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills. One of them is getting replaced by a reload time-improving one, the other by a reduction of the camouflage penalty for firing a weapon.

Rashid Al-Atassi – this commander featured two Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills, both of which are replaced by reload time-improving ones. The rather useless skills (located in the uppermost line of the skill tree), which reduce the dead loader reload time penalty and gives you a chance to revive a dead crewmember, have been both replaced by a reduction of the camouflage penalty for firing a weapon. Finally, the Tier 1 skill increasing the turret traverse rate by a tiny amount as well as the Tier 1 skill below it, reducing the module repair time by a tiny amount, have both been replaced by a skill increasing the chance to cause engine or ammunition fire by 28 percent. In total, 6 skills have been replaced.

Ioannis Sanna – this commander featured two Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills, both of which were replaced by reload time-improving ones.

Maximilian Koenig – this commander featured two Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills, both of which were replaced by reload time-improving ones.

Alexander Cortez – this commander featured two Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills, both of which are replaced by reload time-improving ones. Another ammo switch rate skill was replaced by one increasing the shell damage randomization boundaries by 5%. Additionally, the skill that increases fuel tank durability was replaced by one that increases the durability of your engine.

Anthony Diaz – this commander featured one Tier 1 ammo switch rate skill that was replaced by a reload time-improving ones.

Andrey Zaitsev – this commander featured three Tier 1 ammo switch rate skills, both of which were replaced by reload time-improving ones, but only active when using a Tank Destroyer. Two more skills of the same type are now replaced by ones by a reduction of the camouflage penalty for firing a weapon.

We hope that you will find these replacements to your liking and, as always:

Artillery in Global Operations: Now Available!

Commanders!

As promised earlier, starting today, the SPG class vehicles can now enter the Global Operations mode.

The following conditions do, however, apply:
 • Two SPGs per team at most
 • No SPG platoons

Please note that due to these limitations, this may result, at least initially, in longer SPG class queues in the Global Operations mode since we’re sure many of you will want to try this new feature out.

Despite this fact, we do hope that you’ll enjoy this change and, as always:
