Europe’s Edge Battle Path: Prize Highlights

Commanders!

The Europe’s Edge Battle Path is right around the corner. As you can already see from the trailer shown below, it is stylized into a modern-day expo showing off some of the best vehicles recently unveiled or deployed in Europe.

These vehicles are:

You can read more about them in each respective article.

But that’s not all. As we announced previously, the prizes of this Battle Path are split into three groups by topics:
 • Cockerill company (Level 1-20) with various prizes from the countries using Cockerill equipment
 • Great Britain (Level 21-40) with various British-themed prizes
 • German/French collaboration (Levels 41-50) with various French and German prizes

Let’s take a look at some of them.

As befits the topic, you’ll start the Battle Path with the NATO flag.

The Cockerill part of the prizes follows and brings with it such prizes as the classic NATO camouflage (the Dutch variant):

Two camouflage used by the Philippines (a classic one and a digital one):

There will be a Malaysian camouflage as well:

And to top it off, two Turkish ones:

We’ll stay in Turkey for a while longer because the skin belonging to this part of the prizes turns your Harimau Light Tank into a different variant of the vehicle called Kaplan MT, featuring Turkish flag, camouflage and a rather pretty paintjob.

Continuing to the British prizes, we can’t help but start by showing off the Challenger 2 ATDU skin called Honey Badger. With a large camouflage net covering the whole vehicle, your vehicle will resemble the real-life ATDU test-bed Challenger like never before.

But the British section features two skins, the other being a Union Jack paintjob for your Boxer CRV, based on the Boxer demonstrator that appeared in real life during the promotion of the platform in Great Britain. British by birth and all that.

But Levels 21 to 40 are also bringing a number of British camouflages, from classic stripes to the cutting edge digital camouflage unveiled only recently on the Ajax.

And last but definitely not least, there’s the French and German section that features for example several digital German camouflages as seen on various prototypes, including the Lynx and the KF51:

There are two French camouflages as well:

There will naturally be more prizes to be acquired but the items above represent an overview of the main ones. The Battle Path will be launching in the near future but you can secure your Early Access right now for a discounted price via our Web Shop:

We hope that you’ll enjoy the upcoming Battle Path and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Historical Skins: Challenger 2 TES “Honey Badger”

Commanders!

Today we’d like to tell you more about one of the main prizes of the Europe’s Edge Battle Path – a skin for the Challenger 2 ATDU Tier 10 MBT called Challenger 2 TES “Honey Badger”.

The story of this skin begins with a very special Challenger 2 (license plate DT 22 AA) known as “Megatron” because, aside from the name, it bears also a symbol belonging to a well-known franchise called Transformers. This individual tank is nothing short of a legend of the British tank forces and received its name because it, simply put, transforms – after its long service, it went to a unit called Armoured Trials and Development Unit (ATDU) stationed in Bovington. This unit is tasked with developing and testing new equipment for the Challenger 2 MBT.

The tank was assigned to ATDU likely in 2008-2009 but has only been shown to the public in 2013. It has gradually been improved ever since. The tested components included:
 • New hydraulic suspension
 • 1500hp MTU MT 883 engine
 • Several different armor packages (including an improved TES version)
 • New APFSDS and advanced HESH (PISH ammunition)

In 2016, the tank was used to test a camouflage kit called Barracuda Mobile Camouflage System (MCS) by Saab. This kit, available for multiple tanks, not only helps hiding the silhouette of the vehicle visually, but also reduces its thermal, radar and ultraviolet footprint – an important advantage to have on today’s battlefield.

And this is what we have with this skin. But why change the name to Honey Badger?

Aside from the obvious (the name and symbol are copyrighted), we thought it would be neat to allude to the vehicle’s pre-ATDU history. You see, this particular Challenger 2 also participated in the battle of Basra in Iraq in 2003 (the battle would come infamous for the first Challenger 2 combat loss during a friendly fire incident).

Several years later, in 2007, rumors started to circulate in Basra amongst the local populace that the British started releasing giant man-eating honey badgers into the area to terrorize the Iraqi citizens as well as planting serpent eggs in the Shatt al Arab river. The outrageous story forced the British military to officially denounce it:

We've been accused of releasing reptile eggs into the Shatt al Arab waterway and then releasing badgers. This flies in the face of what we're trying to do here which is to establish a secure environment.
 • Major Mike Shearer, British military spokesman

The spokesman then proceeded to explain how the word “badger” was a call-sign of one of the soldiers from 2 Royal Tank Regiment, a tradition since the 1930s.

Long story short, we decided to name our own Challenger 2 skin “Honey Badger” in honor of the fictional ferocious, man-eating honey badgers out there, prowling the streets of Basra at night.

We hope you’ll enjoy the skin and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Offer: Main Battle Tanks

Commanders!

 • Armata 152 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • Type 96B Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • T-72B3 Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • M1A1 Storm Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • MBT-70 Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • Pile of Gold Loot Crate
Between March 21 and 28, 2024, the following items will be available:
ZTZ-20
The ZTZ-20 is a fictional Chinese Main Battle Tank for the 21st century. It combines western influences with some ideas taken from the T-14 Armata. You can read about its (real and fictional) history in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the ZTZ-20 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. On its own, it’s a beast of a machine and one of the most powerful vehicles in the game, featuring both a powerful gun and thick armor. It does have a special feature though – its missiles can cover a wide area with burning White Phosphorus that reduces enemy vehicle camouflage and deals damage to anyone entering the zone.

The ZTZ-20 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Armata 152
The Armata 152 is a version of the T-14 Armata, armed with larger cannon. One of the upgrades considered for the T-14 Armata was the increase of its caliber to 152mm in order to absolutely, positively destroy anything with the first shot. The 2A83 smoothbore is a behemoth of a gun, designed in the last days of the Soviet empire for the next generation of super-tanks. It’s massive, heavy and quite costly to produce, but, most importantly, it was never truly needed to deal with the western MBTs since the standard 125mm guns were (and still are) up to the task. That is why it never found its way on any Soviet MBT with even the standard T-14 Armata being armed with an improved 125mm cannon. You can, however, experience its awesome firepower in Armored Warfare! Learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the T-14 Armata 152 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. While not firing as fast as its 125mm counterpart, the 152mm rounds do enormous damage, often eliminating weaker opponents with a single shot. And then there’s the platform itself – the Armata, the most modern Main Battle Tank in the world. Earn it and use it to dominate!

The Armata 152 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
T-72B3
The T-72B3 is the most modern Russian T-72 variant currently in service. It is a heavily upgraded version of the T-72B, featuring Kontakt-5 ERA kit and an improved Fire Control System. Together, these modifications allow the aging T-72 to serve well into the 21st century. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the T-72B3 is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. It continues the tradition of other Russian tanks. Its low silhouette, good mobility, powerful 125mm gun and its advanced ERA kit make it a formidable opponent. This version of the T-72B3 is offered without any camouflage.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
M1A1 Storm
In 1985, the Abrams was upgraded with, amongst other things, the 120mm M256 smoothbore cannon. Over 5000 M1A1 tanks were produced until 1992. This tank participated in Operation Desert Storm, which forged its legendary reputation.

In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model. But, more importantly, this tank is equipped with a massive frontal dozer blade, adding extra armor and ramming damage to the long list of its advantages.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
MBT-70
Germany and the United States cooperated in the 1960s and 70s to create the ultimate Main Battle Tank to replace the aging Patton tank series in service. The MBT-70 prototype tank was the U.S. result of the development program. It was exceptionally well armed with a 152mm gun, capable of firing guided missiles and equipped with cutting edge technology, but high costs and endless delays in development led to the cancellation of this project and the subsequent adoption of a more reasonable design – the Abrams.

In Armored Warfare, the MBT-70 is a Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank. Several features make it quite unique – it has a large caliber gun that, while slow to reload, delivers tremendous damage with each shot. It can also fire devastating guided missiles and while its mobility levels aren’t the best, it can devastate its opponents with well-timed shots, relying on its armor to keep it alive while it reloads. And last but not least, this vehicle has a hydraulic suspension available, allowing it to tilt its hull to improve its gun depression and elevation.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Pile of Gold
We also have the Pile of Gold Loot Crate for you. This Loot Crate contains copious amounts of Gold for you to win.

This Loot Crate includes:
