Shadow Protocol Battle Path: Prize Highlights

Commanders!

The Shadow Protocol Battle Path is coming in early April and we’d like to take a moment to tell you more about its prizes.

The topic of the Shadow Protocol Battle Path is mercenaries – their history, recent and not-so-recent conflicts in which they participated and, of course, the future. But before we take a look at each of these segments, let’s take a look at the main prizes of this Battle Path.

The main prizes are, of course, the vehicles. There are three:

 • T-64BV Mod.2022 Tier 8 Premium MBT for reaching Level 20 (representing the “past” aspect)
 • Borsuk Tier 10 Premium AFV for reaching Level 35 (representing the “contemporary” aspect)
 • KNIFV NLOS LPS Tier 10 Premium TD for reaching Level 50 (representing the “future” aspect)

You can see them on the images below:

This Battle Path is also bringing a new special ability available on the Borsuk called Repair Zone that is slowly healing nearby teammates as well as you.

You’ll also have the opportunity to earn other amazing prizes, including exclusive skins that will not be available by any other means:

 • Golden Snake skin for VN20 for completing the first mission chain
 • Snake skin for Cheonma-2 for completing the second mission chain
 • Golden Lion skin for Puma for completing the third mission chain
 • Future Tech skin for EMBT for completing the fourth and final mission chain
 • Three Tank Biathlon skins for Type 96B for reaching Level 36

Take a look:

But that’s not all. You can earn more Premium vehicles during the Battle Path:

 • M1A1 AIM Tier 8 Premium MBT for reaching Level 45 (it’ll come in handy, we have a new skin for it)
 • Up to 30 Premium vehicles via the brand-new Mercenary Loot Crates (that also contain Premium commanders, but no trash prizes – just Gold)

And that’s STILL not all. There are many other prizes awaiting you as you progress through the Battle Path. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Levels 1 to 20 are dedicated to the past. After the Second World War, mercenaries have popped up across the world. Men who grew up during the largest conflict in human history were not ready to put down their arms just yet and sought freedom and adventure.

They saw the world change. The colonial wars in Africa gave way to various regional conflicts in the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. We’ll have a number of relevant camouflages, decals and flags for you, each coming with a description tying it to the topic of the Battle Path.

We have three new skins for you in this Battle Path and the one representing the past comes from the Libyan Crisis that saw a wide use of mercenaries. In 2014, the movie Fury came out, inspiring the fighters to name their old T-72 Ural that way. The “Fury” skin does represent this vehicle. And since the Ural isn’t performing so well right now, we’ll buff it a bit. Or maybe not just a bit.

Levels 21 to 35 are dedicated to the present – or the not so distant past. The Russo-Georgian war involved mercenaries, as did the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which culminated in 2023 by the collapse of Artsakh. We’ll touch upon the Syrian Civil War and, of course, the ongoing mercenary involvement in central Africa.

The skin representing the present is called “Winged Hussar” and is loosely based on a KTO Rosomak recently shown in Poland and featuring a painting of the famous winged hussars that saved Vienna from Turkish onslaught. Not to worry, we are aware the Rosomak is underperforming right now and we’ll buff it as well.

And, finally, levels 36 to 50 are dedicated to the future. The eyes of the world slowly turn to the east where the dragon is awakening from its centuries-old slumber – and it is hungry. This part of the Battle Path covers the Pacific with its camouflages and decals.

The final new skin is the “Australian M1A1 AIM” one, changing your M1A1 AIM’s appearance, as the name suggests, to the one used by the Australian army – specifically to a tank called Azrael.

These are just examples and there will be many more prizes in this Battle Path. We hope that you’ll enjoy this event that is coming soon and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
XM2001 Crusader
The XM2001 Crusader is an American attempt to replace the M109A6 Paladin in the 1990s with something more modern. The project was cancelled in 2002 due to its heavy weight. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In Armored Warfare, the XM2001 Crusader is a Tier 10 Premium Self-Propelled Gun. The Crusader is an ideal vehicle for players who like to play aggressively. Dominate the battlefield with unrivalled firepower of a three-round 155mm magazine paired with guided HE rounds, and retreat under the cover of smoke thanks to your speed and agility. The Crusader is the ultimate SPG you've been dreaming of!

The Crusader is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Namer
The Namer IFV is an Israeli heavy fighting vehicle version of the Namer platform developed in the early 2000s from the Merkava Main Battle Tank. Israel is a small country and cannot affect high infantry losses, which is why the Namer features extremely high levels of protection. The IFV variant is fitted with a Rafael turret, featuring 30mm autocannon and a Spike missile launcher. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Namer is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. As its history suggests, it is a superheavy TD with its protection levels being amongst the highest of its class. It is slow and ponderous but its thick front can deflect even advanced shells while maintaining adequate firepower thanks to its autocannon and ATGM combination. Its MBT-like characteristics make this vehicle quite forgiving for new players, but, as they say, a jack-of-all-trades is a master of none.

The Namer Tier 10 Premium TD is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
M1A2C War Pig Skin
This skin for the M1A2C Tier 9 Main Battle Tank fits your Abrams with a Barracuda camouflage kit that not only unlocks certain modules for you, but can also change color based on the paint you select on your vehicle. You can read more in our dedicated article.

The skin is available as a part of the War Pig Bundle, which contains the following items:

 • Skin: War Pig
 • 3 Platinum Loot Crates
 • 500 Gold

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
M8 Ridgway Skin
This skin for the M8-120 Thunderbolt II Tier 9 Light Tank is based on our idea of what would the M8 have looked like, had it been a part of Operation Just cause, the American invasion of Panama. Its look is based off an existing M551 Sheridan “Airborne Thunder”, which participated in the said operation. You can read more in our dedicated article.

The skin is available as a part of the Ridgway Bundle, which contains the following items:

 • Ridgway skin for M8-120 Thunderbolt II
 • Field Drab base paint (learn more)
 • 7 Platinum Loot Crates
 • 1.500 Gold

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Warhammer Skin for M1A2
This skin for the M1A2 Tier 8 progression Main Battle Tank is based on the real American Abrams tanks, which were seen and photographed during the Iraq War. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

This skin is available in a bundle along with the following items:

 • Iraq War ochre base paint (used by the U.S. Army)
 • U.S. Cavalry decal
 • U.S. Company decal
 • Thunderbolt decal (this historical decal appeared on a real early Abrams in honor of General Creighton Abrams’ personal Sherman tank during the Second World War)

Please note that the bundle includes the skin but not the M1A2 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Bradley AAWS-H
The Bradley AAWS-H Tank Destroyer was an attempt by Loral Vought to mount four kinetic guided missiles on an extendable arm while using the Bradley IFV chassis as a platform. Kinetic missiles were cutting edge tech back in the 1980s – unlike standard ATGMs, they destroyed the target by their kinetic energy instead of a HEAT warhead, accelerating to several times the speed of sound. There was little to no defense against them, although they did have some drawbacks, which was why they were never adopted in real life. You can read more about the vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Stryker ADATS
ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.

In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
M1A1 Storm with Desert Storm bundle
In 1985, the Abrams was upgraded with, amongst other things, the 120mm M256 smoothbore cannon. Over 5000 M1A1 tanks were produced until 1992. This tank participated in Operation Desert Storm, which forged its legendary reputation.

In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model. But, more importantly, this tank is equipped with a massive frontal dozer blade, adding extra armor and ramming damage to the long list of its advantages.

This vehicle is also available in the Desert Storm Bundle. As its name suggests, the bundle contains several Operation Desert Storm and War in Iraq-related items, including:

 • M1A1 Storm Tier 7 Premium MBT
 • Warhammer skin for the M1A2 Tier 8 MBT
 • Iraq War ochre base paint (used by the U.S. Army)
 • American Red Desert MERDC camouflage
 • American Grey Desert MERDC camouflage
 • U.S. Flag decal
 • U.S. Flag banner

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Sabre
The Sabre is an interesting British recon vehicle, assembled together from older Scorpion hulls and Fox turrets after both parts were brought to zero hour state (completely overhauled) by a company called Alvis. The resulting vehicle from the early 1990s was called Sabre and, considering it was made of decades old components, it worked fairly well as a scouting vehicle, participating in the Iraq War as well as in several peacekeeping missions. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Tier 6 Sabre Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle is one of the deadliest vehicles on the battlefield thanks to its rather unique upward-aimed Swingfire missile launcher that allows it to fire over obstacles or while hidden, for example behind uneven terrain. While being quite difficult to master, this ability makes it a potent ambusher, especially in skilled hands.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Challenger 1 Falcon
The Falcon is an experimental turret developed in the early 2000s in Jordan as an upgrade to the Jordanian Al-Hussein (Challenger 1) Main Battle Tanks. It's a low profile turret, armed with an automatically loaded Swiss 120mm L/50 RUAG smoothbore gun, capable of firing standard NATO ammunition. The operator controls the turret from inside the vehicle's hull, significantly improving crew protection. A prototype was built and tested, but the design was never mass-produced.

In Armored Warfare, the Challenger 1 Falcon is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. The best word to characterize this lumbering behemoth in the game is “tough” – its excellent hull armor shrugs off most shells while the damage its low profile turret takes when it is reduced by 90% thanks to the fact the crew is not located directly in it. Despite being generally very slow and sluggish, the Challenger 1 Falcon can take tremendous punishment and is ideal for the players who prefer the British Main Battle Tank play style.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
