ENGAGE v3.7

NEW
- Added an option to prevent non-hosts from inviting their connections to a session.
- Added a list of sent but pending connection requests on the Invitations tab of Connections.
- Added the ability to search for users to add as a connection while in a session.
- Added the ability to create experiences for mixed reality.

IMPROVED
- Remapped some of the shortcut keys on desktop devices. Muting and unmuting microphones are now mapped to the m key instead of F1.
- Increased session IDs to six characters and removed characters that could be easily confused. Specifically, O, 0, I, and l. Old session IDs will continue to work.
- Updated the public listing of live sessions so that newly created sessions are listed first.
- Replaced the red dot that indicated pending connection requests with a numerical indication of how many requests are pending.
- Added the ability for a user to filter their list of connections to show only other users who are online.
- Renamed the Online status for a user to a more accurate status of In the menu.
- Improved the interface used to select people in the application so that it is easier to use and provides more information. For example, when a user chooses who to record or who to deliver forms to.
- Applied new colors to loading bars in the ENGAGE application so that they are WCAG compliant.

FIXED
- Fixed an issue that could cause grabbed network objects captured in a recording to be offset when played back.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent users from joining a session because they were incorrectly determined to be using different versions of the application.
- Fixed an issue where a user could avoid being affected by a seat all command by using controller inputs during the countdown.
- Fixed an issue that enabled a user to grant others a higher permission over cloud files in the ENGAGE application than their own permissions should allow.
- Fixed an issue that caused the option to copy a file to cloud files to incorrectly appear for files that were already uploaded to Cloud File Manager.
- Fixed an issue that caused the application to timeout when loading a large location.
- Fixed an issue where if a user set up 2FA with SMS messages as the chosen method to receive passcodes, and were a member of an Enterprise group that subsequently disabled use of SMS, then the user could not log in.
- Fixed an issue that prevented use of the Enter key to submit a 2FA authentication code in the web manager.
- Fixed an issue with Quest 2 Link, where if a user took off their headset, tracking would not resume when the user put their headset back on until they moved their mouse.
- Fixed an issue that could cause events to remain listed as live after their designated end time.
- Fixed an issue where if a user that failed to log in through SSO because it was not set up correctly in EAP, they did not receive a meaningful error message.
- Fixed an issue where a user that had selected Remember Me, but needed to reauthenticate because of a change to SSO or 2FA settings, didn't receive an appropriate error message.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a page from the web manager to appear briefly in the ENGAGE application.
- Fixed the tracking mode icon shown in the in-session menu to accurately reflect the current tracking mode.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the application to become unresponsive if the network connection was lost.
- Fixed an issue where a user was presented with a 404 error page after they removed a cloud connection.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a user to lose access to the in-session menu, as well as the ability to travel through portals, after they cancelled travel through a portal.
- Fixed an issue that caused the destination name to not be displayed when travelling through a portal.
- Fixed the Try PLUS links in the application to directly open the PLUS account creation page.

Security and performance
- Added an ENGAGE prefix to the file name of downloaded 2FA recovery codes so that they are easier to identify.
- Implemented multiple error messages to communicate the different reasons why someone who used the Remember Me option must log in again.

Sessions
- Implemented a maximum password length of 16 characters.

Mixed reality
- Added an icon to a user's name tag to indicate when they are in mixed reality mode.

Voice communication
- Upgraded the voice communication service.

Avatars
- Fixed an issue where if a user entered away mode, the Away tag obscured icons in the name tag.
- Fixed an issue that could cause an avatar's name tag to be incorrectly placed.
- Fixed an issue that could cause multiple avatars to occupy the same seat.

Account creation
- Fixed an issue where if a user didn't enter a username at account creation, the resulting error message incorrectly referenced the last name field.

Localization
- Added translations to some unlocalized areas of the application.

Meta headsets
- Fixed the ability to perform a search from the address bar of the in-session web browser.

Cloud File Manager
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from being able to load video files that were uploaded before the v3.6 release.
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from being able to copy a sequence file to Cloud File Manager immediately after they saved it to their device in the Content Editor.

Content Editor
- Fixed an issue where if keyframes were added to an IFX and then deleted, a user could not reposition the IFX until after they added another keyframe.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the deletion of keyframes.
- Fixed an issue that could cause keys at the location of the playhead to be deleted instead of only the keys that were selected.

VR headsets
- Fixed the title of the virtual keyboard when a user enters their password to view their 2FA recovery codes.

IFX
- Fixed an issue that reverted object bubbles to appear on hover instead of on selection.
- Fixed issues with filter settings in the IFX library so that applied tags are always visible, and the removal of tags immediately updates search results.

Connections
- Fixed an issue that could cause a user who is not logged in to show with an online status.

Menu
- Fixed an issue that could cause some menu screens to appear blank.

Security and performance
- Added a specific error message to communicate when a user is logged out of the ENGAGE application due to inactivity.

Deep links
- Fixed deep links to correctly open the intended Session or Event.

Sticky notes
- Fixed an issue where locked sticky notes could still be moved.

ENGAGE v3.6

NEW

Connections
- Added the Connections system, which enables users to connect with each other so they can more easily interact on the platform.
- Added the ability to invite a connection to the Session that you’re in, and to request to join a Session that a connection is in.
- Added a new page to show information about users who are in the same Session as you, which includes their profile pictures.
- Added status indicators to user profile images to indicate whether a user is online or offline, but also enabled each user to set their status to appear offline.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Added support for two-factor authentication, which any user can choose to enable. 2FA is a type of multi-factor authentication (MFA) that uses two distinct authentication factors.

Meta
- Added support for the Meta Quest 3

Mixed reality
- Created a new experimental system for users of Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 3 headsets to experience ENGAGE in mixed reality.
* Users in the same physical location can share a mixed reality experience, where they see virtual 3D objects added to the view from their passthrough cameras and anchored in place as though they are part of the real world.
* Users of Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 3 headsets can use the room scan data from their headsets to automatically create a 3D model of their environment – called a digital twin.
* A user in a mixed reality experience can be joined by a remote user, where the remote user sees the digital twin model instead of the passthrough camera view.
* The system supports multiple co-located users in mixed reality and multiple remote users in the same shared experience.
- Added a step-by-step walkthrough in the application to guide users in setting up their mixed reality environment.
- Added the option for users of Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 3 headsets to replace their menu screen background environment with a view through their passthrough camera.

Localization
- Added support for Italian.

IMPROVED

Avatars
- Improved avatar display names to be less intrusive within a session.
- Changed the full-body avatar warning window to appear only when a host assigns more than five full-body avatars.
- Moved the My Avatar link, which leads to the Avatar Editor, to the user menu in the upper-right corner of the menu screen.

Host controls
- Renamed the Users page of the in-Session menu to Host Controls and restricted access to hosts only. Non-hosts can now use the People page to view information about other users in the session.

Localization
- Implemented a new interface for language selection in the ENGAGE application.

Notifications
- Users can now see notifications outside of Sessions. For example, an invitation to join a Session while on the menu screen.
- Added the ability for a user to select a link in a notification, and then be taken directly to the corresponding area of the user interface.
- Add the ability for users on desktop devices to follow notification links through a keyboard shortcut.

Single sign-on
- Added an error message to the ENGAGE application to indicate when SSO has been turned on, but the configuration settings are incorrect.

Sessions
- Streamlined the sequence to start a new session through removal of the screen that showed the Session ID.
- Implemented a new invite user panel, which in addition to the session ID displays the password for protected sessions, and includes the ability to copy the information in a formatted text snippet that can be shared with others. Note: No password is sent to the client over the network. The user must have entered the password to access the session, and this is then cached locally.

Shared screen
- Added the option for users on Windows 11 devices to share audio when they share their desktop or a chosen application.

User accounts
- Removed the use of imperial units for height entry for languages in regions that exclusively use metric units.

Security
- Changed the remember me setting to expire after 30 days.

IFX
- Added the ability to hold the left trigger button to rotate an object while puppeteering without needing to release the right trigger button.


FIXED

Avatars
- Fixed an issue that caused the wrists of recorded avatars to appear twisted when played back.

Movement
- Fixed an issue that could block avatar movement if a user closed their in-session menu while entering text in a field.

Content Editor
- Fixed an issue where the inclusion of illegal file name characters caused an upload to Cloud File Manager to fail.
- Fixed an issue where if a user replaced an object loaded from Cloud File Manager with another cloud file object, the new object did not display correctly.
- Fixed the ability to click a point on the timeline to move the playhead.

Host controls
- Fixed an issue that could cause multiple avatars to occupy the same seat if a host chose to seat all users twice in succession.

LINK
- Fixed an issue that caused some characters to be missing in the titles and descriptions of LINK locations for Simplified Chinese.

Localization
- Fixed the presentation of help information about how to load a video for non-English languages.
- Added translations to some unlocalized areas of the application.
- Adjusted the user interface in multiple areas to prevent translated text from being cut off.
- Added a more accurate translation of the Recording feature for the German language.

Persistent sessions
- Raised the maximum capacity of a persistent Session to 70 to match the maximum capacity of other Session types created by Enterprise accounts.

Security
- Fixed an issue with Session encryption to ensure that if a user is a member of at least one group that has Session encryption enabled, all Sessions that they create are encrypted.
- Implemented a fix to invalidate a remembered log-in setting when a user changes their password.

Single sign-on
- Changed in-application messaging related to SSO to be more appropriate when the user has a LITE or PLUS account.

User accounts
- Fixed an issue that could cause country and time zone lists to be displayed in Korean when a user created an account.

User interface
- Fixed the tabbing order of fields on the Password page of the ENGAGE application.

- Expanded the range of angles through which a user can activate their wrist controls.

Content Editor
- Fixed an issue that caused a recording to not update on the timeline when a user changed its Start Time in effect options.
- Fixed an issue on VR devices that prevented a user from entering time values through the virtual keyboard.
- Fixed an issue on desktop devices where changes to effect options were saved only if the user pressed the enter key after they changed a value.

Log-in
- Corrected the error message that is displayed when a user is not connected to the internet and attempts to log in with a username and password.
