Hello Again!

Heya Folks!

It's been a while again since I've had the time and focus for working on this game or doing digital work in general. BUT I'M BACK! And I want to roll out this game!

I don't want to overpromise and I guess it's best to keep expectations realistic and low since I'm the only person working on this. That means I do all the planning/task organising, graphics, coding, sound, music and public relations ( like this announcement ) and more. Setting up all the Steam related images/texts/acchievements and so on is also pretty time consuming btw. and it's super hard to explain to anybody just how much work it is to make and distribute a niche game -alone-.

That aside, here's what I've been up to:

-I've doubled the resolution of the game to HD (720p) and re-rendered all game sprites so you can now enjoy better details of the characters an environment. (TONS OF WORK!)
-Stepping away from the procedural levels to a more mixed solution. I just didn't like the results and having more handmade parts just makes the game feel and look better. I'll still be using some procedural elements and choices but not quite sure how much and where.
-Beefed up the melee combat to squeeze more juice out of it and make it even more fun to smack things up with the bat. Also added some different melee upgrades to the bat.
-Still working out the leveling system for the Items. For now, some will drop or be found and others might be handed to the player or upgraded somehow.

What I'm doing now:

-Trying to make a solid outline for the complete game A-Z. So I'm making a starting point and an endgame type scenario and then going to connect the two.
-Contnue to re-render the old content into the higher resolution.
-Making a few new enemy types and reworking the AI.
-Adding interesting skills and weapon types.
-Working out some music (play guitar with the game vibe in mind).
-Working on how to communicate the games story and how to tighten the atmosphere.
-Sort out my relationship with Steam. (Yeah, I wouldn't mind to compensate my efforts with a bit of cash)
-Prepare new screenshots, assets and a trailer/teaser for the Steam Store.
-lot's more...

What you can do:

-Just say "HI!" in the comments to let me know that you are there. Or let me know what you like about the game.
-Write to your favorite publishers/online magazine/youtubers that you would like them to take a closer look at this project.
-Start discussions with me in the Community Hub
-Whatever else you want.
-Be yourself.

Thanks for the read!

Best regards,
James
