v5.0.0 - Lumberyard Map & Game Engine Upgrade
Lumberyard Map
After a long time coming, Deceit's most anticipated update ever is here today! And no - you don't need to check your calendar, it isn't April 1st. The Lumberyard is finally here! Our 5th map offers a refreshing space for your group to venture through - a timber filled ravine, with each area you pass feeling and looking different to the last. To celebrate this release, for the next week we've doubled the likelihood of the Lumberyard being selected in both ranked and casual queues. We'd also to give a massive thanks to the Community Mods for their hard work in testing and providing feedback on the map!
Engine Upgrade - CRYENGINE 5.6
Over the past few months we've been working hard on updating the game engine that Deceit runs on. Upgrading from Deceit's previous engine version, CRYENGINE 5.3, brings over 3 years of bug fixes, features and performance improvements worked on by the team at Crytek. Not only does this improve the speed of us being able to integrate future CRYENGINE updates, this also brings a lot of additional upgrades and improvements to our tooling behind the scenes, which allows us to develop content in a much more efficient way, improving our iteration speeds in creating releases like the Lumberyard Map. You can expect significant visual and gameplay improvements to come off of the back of this upgrade in our future updates. Finally we'd like to re-iterate our thanks to those in the community that helped us beta test this release, your help was truly invaluable.
General
- Parties of 6 are now be able to optionally select a map when queuing up for a game.
- The 'Profile' section of the Main Menu has received an uplift. As part of a larger collection of improvements, players will now be able to rotate their characters when viewing them. As well as this, the cosmetic slots for knives, guns and wristbands will now display a rotatable model of the item.
- Added a new service for receiving game crashes. This will help us identify what crashes occur, their frequency and enables us to more easily resolve them.
- Estonian & Romanian translations have been added to the game. As well as this, several of our other languages have had their translations updated. Many thanks to our community translators for their help.
