Gameplay Update Beta - Coming Soon!
Throughout the year we've been working on designing, and testing, some fundamental adjustments to the way that Deceit is played. There are plenty of reasons behind why we're wanting to make these changes, but some of the standout ones are:
 • Making Deceit a more intuitive game. Whilst many of the mechanics in Deceit are quite simple to understand once explained, they're not always easy to grasp straight off the bat. A new player should be able to pick Deceit up and have fun without having to study the game first.
 • Setting Deceit up such that we can easily add more content. With how Deceit is structured right now it is quite hard for us to add new, exciting, content without it causing a balancing nightmare. We want to be able to quickly iterate on adding new and interesting content to the game, keeping it fresh and replayable for all players.
 • Increasing the opportunities for deception in-game. With how it currently stands, Deceit can quite quickly be 'solved' early on in the game. We want Deceit to hold up to its name and truly have deception tactics that can be used throughout the game.

So, where are we at right now? We're currently testing, and iterating, our first set of changes, loosely named the 'Flow' update. These changes are primarily targeting improving a player's first time experience, encouraging more discussion & deception and making voting more intuitive. So far our testing has primarily been purely within the development team, but we have recently started playing with some select members from the community to get their input. In the near future we'll be opening up testing these changes to a wider audience in order to get more feedback on the direction we're taking the game.

Interested in helping test & provide feedback on these changes? Join our Discord server to be kept in the loop about participating. We anticipate that these tests will start over the next week or two, pending on our internal tests.

See you in-game!
