2020 Festive Event - Coming Soon

Event is now live! - News Post

Festive Event

On Friday 11th December we'll be releasing our annual Festive Event! We've pulled out the toy box this year to bring a collection of new cosmetics for you to get your mittens on, including: Toy Soldier Alex, Doll Rachel, Lockdown Lisa, and so much more. All rewards will be obtainable with Christmas Tokens & GM Credits, and as such we will be boosting the GM Credit reward amounts from daily challenges whilst the event is active.

New Deceit Game Mode (Beta)

Behind the scenes we've been super busy on a major update to Deceit. We’ve previously run two exploratory beta tests with the community, and this week we have a third one coming up. The sessions will take place on Friday December 4th 8-11pm GMT and Saturday December 5th 12-3pm GMT.

This third instalment of changes takes on feedback from the previous tests, and is more refined. We think we’re very close to something that’s ready to go live, subject to your feedback! You can get involved and find out what has changed by joining our Discord and following the instructions for access.

We view this update as a level-up to the core of the game experience, which we will be building upon throughout 2021 and beyond. Once this new game mode hits live be sure to expect a plethora of content released in the following months. Including, but not limited to: new Items, Terrors, Abilities, Maps, Characters, and Objectives.

In other news, the December 2020 Ranked Season started today!

See you in-game,

In other news…

Thanks a lot to all of the community members who joined the Gameplay Beta last weekend. We had a lot of fun playing, and the feedback is helping to guide us in the right direction. For those of you still unsure, don’t worry, we’re still taking all of your feedback on board and there’s a lot more refinement to come. We’ll be back with Gameplay Beta 3 in November.

In addition to hopefully releasing the new gameplay changes into live, we have *a lot* of exciting things planned coming over the next few months. We are working on a lighting and optimisation rework for all of our maps: improving the visual experience, gameplay balancing and performance all at once! This winter we’ll be diving into the toybox and bringing back our beloved Christmas event, and as some of you beady-eyed deceivers have already theorised there will be some new friendly and not-so-friendly faces making their debut soon.

See you in-game,
The Baseline Team
Gameplay Update Beta - Coming Soon!
Throughout the year we've been working on designing, and testing, some fundamental adjustments to the way that Deceit is played. There are plenty of reasons behind why we're wanting to make these changes, but some of the standout ones are:
 • Making Deceit a more intuitive game. Whilst many of the mechanics in Deceit are quite simple to understand once explained, they're not always easy to grasp straight off the bat. A new player should be able to pick Deceit up and have fun without having to study the game first.
 • Setting Deceit up such that we can easily add more content. With how Deceit is structured right now it is quite hard for us to add new, exciting, content without it causing a balancing nightmare. We want to be able to quickly iterate on adding new and interesting content to the game, keeping it fresh and replayable for all players.
 • Increasing the opportunities for deception in-game. With how it currently stands, Deceit can quite quickly be 'solved' early on in the game. We want Deceit to hold up to its name and truly have deception tactics that can be used throughout the game.

So, where are we at right now? We're currently testing, and iterating, our first set of changes, loosely named the 'Flow' update. These changes are primarily targeting improving a player's first time experience, encouraging more discussion & deception and making voting more intuitive. So far our testing has primarily been purely within the development team, but we have recently started playing with some select members from the community to get their input. In the near future we'll be opening up testing these changes to a wider audience in order to get more feedback on the direction we're taking the game.

Interested in helping test & provide feedback on these changes? Join our Discord server to be kept in the loop about participating. We anticipate that these tests will start over the next week or two, pending on our internal tests.

See you in-game!
