Coming Up Next In The Bus – Hamburg City DLC

[p][/p][p]With the release of the free add-on Line 277, another major milestone has been reached for the The Bus – Hamburg City DLC. But this is only the beginning — construction is already moving full speed ahead in northern Hamburg.[/p][p]The expansion continues with both extended and brand-new bus routes![/p][p][/p]
Line 17 Extension Taking Shape
[p]Work is currently focused on two major expansion sections that will extend Line 17 further north.[/p][p]North of Barmbek station, we are closing the previous route gap behind the elevated subway bridge on Fuhlsbüttler Straße, near Genslerstraße and Heidhörn. From there, the line continues to the prominent intersection beneath the Barmbeker Ringbrücke. It then turns onto Langenfort and reconnects northwest of Steilshooper Straße with the familiar routes of Lines 7 and 277.[/p][p]At the same time, construction is progressing on the northeastern extension from Fabriciusstraße to Bramfelder Dorfplatz. Altogether, the stretch from Barmbek station to Bramfeld will grow by around five additional kilometers — all of which will be fully playable with Line 17.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Expansion Toward Alsterdorf Depot
[p]Development is also underway west of Line 277. The route is being extended to the Alsterdorf depot on Tessenowweg. From the current western end of Line 277 to the depot, approximately 1.2 kilometers of additional roadway are being added.[/p][p]This new section will not only enhance the visual variety of the map but also open up new operational possibilities.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
New Line 218 – A Short-Run Service
[p]The new branch also introduces another playable route: Line 218.[/p][p]In the DLC, it will be implemented as a short-run service, offering its own distinct driving experience within the existing network. The line starts at Rübenkamp S-Bahn station and runs eastbound. From Eichenlohweg, it follows the route of Line 277; from Gustav-Seitz-Weg, it continues along Line 7 before heading toward Bramfeld via Leeschenblick and Fabriciusstraße.[/p][p]Unlike Line 7, Line 218 will terminate at Bramfelder Dorfplatz in the DLC.
A potential future extension to Ellernreihe / Heukoppel is currently under review and considered very likely.[/p][p]The total length of this short-run route will be approximately six kilometers.[/p][p][/p]
More Routes, More Connections, More Hamburg
[p]With the addition of Line 218, the playable network expands to six routes in total: 6, 7, 17, 277, the night line 617, and the new 218.[/p][p]This brings nearly 40 kilometers of drivable routes within Hamburg’s city area to the DLC, featuring numerous interconnections, shared segments, and diverse urban scenery.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
A Look at Current Development
[p]At the end of this update, we are sharing new work-in-progress screenshots from the areas around Fabriciusstraße, Steilshooper Allee / Bramfelder Chaussee, and the intersection beneath the Barmbeker Ringbrücke.[/p][p]Please note that these images represent work in progress. Details, vegetation, and individual objects may still change before release. Even at this stage, however, the high level of authenticity and attention to detail in these new areas is clearly visible.[/p][p]Screenshots from the Line 218 section will follow at a later date.[/p][p][/p]
Stay Up to Date
[p]We regularly share updates about The Bus and the Hamburg City DLC through our official channels.
