The Bus DLC Hamburg City | News

[p]Work on the northern extension of Line 17 is continuing at full speed. After previously sharing initial screenshots of the section north of Barmbek station up to the major intersection at Fuhlsbüttler Straße / Altes Wöhr / Langenfort, we can now present a first work-in-progress video showcasing this area in motion — and beyond.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]While the scenes shown are still work in progress and do not represent the final version, the video provides an even clearer impression of how the route is gradually taking shape. In addition, we are also sharing new screenshots from the current state of development in this update.[/p][p]Shortly after the release of The Bus DLC – Hamburg City, we received numerous requests from the community to extend Line 17 beyond Barmbek station. In the current version of the DLC, the line ends there before heading back towards Feldstraße.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]We are excited to expand the route significantly: in one of the upcoming updates, Line 17 will be extended by approximately 4.5 km to the north, reaching Bramfelder Dorfplatz. There, buses will turn behind the shopping center before beginning the return journey towards Barmbek.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]Looking ahead, further expansion is already planned. At a later stage, Line 17 will be extended beyond Bramfelder Dorfplatz towards Karlshöhe and ultimately to the Berne subway station.[/p][p]Significant infrastructure work has already been completed. The gap between Hellbrookstraße and Richeystraße has been closed, fully developed, and carefully detailed. While previous previews mainly focused on the section up to the distinctive Ring Bridge, the new video now goes beyond this point.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]After passing beneath the Ring Bridge and the busy intersection at Langenfort, the video showcases for the first time the following section leading up to the Richeystraße stop. This part already integrates seamlessly into the existing road network and gives a strong impression of the final route layout.[/p][p]From Richeystraße, Line 17 follows the route of lines 7 and 277, continuing north along Steilshooper Straße. The northeastern section between the Bramfelder Chaussee / Steilshooper Allee intersection and Bramfelder Dorfplatz is currently still under construction, with this part of the route gradually coming to life.[/p][p]To give you a closer look, we have put together a new work-in-progress video: experience the busy Fuhlsbüttler Straße, the impressive intersection at the Ring Bridge and Langenfort, and for the first time, the section leading to Richeystraße — all in motion.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Please note that all content shown represents the current development state and is subject to change.[/p][p]In addition to the video, this news post also includes new screenshots from the current development progress between the Hellbrookstraße and Neue Wöhr stops. The following section will be presented in a separate update.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]If you don’t want to miss any updates on The Bus, make sure to follow us on Facebook, visit our website regularly, or subscribe to our Telegram channel to receive the latest news directly on your smartphone.[/p]
