Eximius Update - March 7th, 2020

Hello Officers,

Here's the first update in March. In this update, we expanded a bit more with the Skirmish AI, slightly reworked the GSF Assault Vanguard abilities and updated the Setup Lobby.

In this update, we made one big gameplay change that we thought was necessary. Making the starting GSF Armoury and AXR Mule indestructible. From our playtest sessions and games with the community, we noticed that it is very challenging for a team to stage a defense once their base armoury is destroyed. We plan to address this issue with this change.

Additionally, the starting AXR Mule is now converted to a static one and mounted on the AXR Command Center.

Mounted AXR Mule

New GSF Assault Vanguard Ability UI

In this update, we revisit the very first Battlesuit in the game, the GSF Assault Vanguard. We reworked both abilities slightly to improve the experience of using the abilities. The new targeting UI should be very helpful to players as well.

Resource and Victory Points widget are now always visible

Finally, a small treat for the RTS players. We made the Resource and Victory Points to be always visible as well as adding the capture indicator. Expect more RTS improvements over the next few updates.

That's it for now. Our next update will be one of the biggest one yet so check our Discord and Social Media pages for more updates.

Till next time!

Eximius Update - February 20th, 2020

Hello Officers,

This latest update focusing on Skirmish AI may seem like a hotfix on the surface, but there's a lot more going on under the hood.

Functionally, some of the bugs such as units not moving are fixed. Additionally, in the bigger picture, there's a major revamp going on with the Skirmish AI. There are many subtle improvements which improves on how the AI decides where to attack and which points to hold.

If you're an experienced player, you should find Brutal skirmish significantly more challenging.

As part of the new improvement, Skirmish AI is now able to upgrade tech and use it on units. With this, we'll be seeing upgraded AXR Rook Ironguard and GSF M33's advanced turrets in the field.

At the moment, we are in the midst of tweaking the AI further to allow them to use artillery and support abilities. You will likely see them added in the game over the next few updates.

Here's a preview on what's coming up over the next few updates:
1)Private Game. A feature which allows you to host a closed match to play with your friends. A highly requested feature by the community.
2)Battlesuit Ability Revamp. Starting with the GSF Assault Vanguard, we'll have an usability improvement like the previously updated Exploit Vanguard.

As we march to our 1.0 update this year, we have a few more units that are currently being developed to further boost the variation of strategies you can employ. We will share more details over the next few months.

See you in the next update!

Exploit Vanguard Battlesuit To Get UI Improvements In Upcoming Update

Here's a brief overview of some very nice UI improvements for the Exploit Vanguard Battlesuit that is expected to be included in our next update. Watch the full video further below or catch up on the new improvements in this article.

The Exploit Vanguard is capable of hacking/disrupting all manner of things. Players can disable a vehicle, hack a resource point and even deplete an enemy officer's shields. While it is certainly useful there are a few drawbacks which we have addressed in this coming update.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

1.) White Range Box & Green Reticle

Previously the Exploit's hacking skill worked with an invisible UI range which made it hard to tell when a hacking connection would break when moving the mouse. Target selection was also based on the highlighted unit instead of the closest target to the player, Now with the White Range Box, players can better see their effective range and the green reticle will highlight hackable targets and will ignore non-hackable targets allowing for more accurate targeting.

2.) Signal Strength Indicator

The signal strength indicator is found just at the top of the white range box. The icons and bar will change colour from red to green indicating how strong the connection is to allow a hacking sequence. This allows players to know their effective hacking range, so they can tell if they are about to move or look too far away from their target.

3.) Green Incognito Icon Timer

This new icon appears after a successful hack has been accomplished. It the target that is being hacked can be disabled, the icon will appear and will gradually drain in color, acting as a timer. This will tell the player how much time they have before the target reverts back to normal. This particular icon will be visible to any other player who is also equipped with an Exploit Vanguard Battlesuit for better coordination.

This was just one of many more updates to come for our game. Stay tuned for more news as we get closer to the release date.

See you all on the frontline!
