SCUM - Development update
Hello everyone, happy Monday! Get the week off with another development update! Check it out!
In a bit of a different format, and we will get into that.
As you already know, this year we are putting our main efforts into resolving old issues and finishing reworks that have been waiting for a while now. With that, the development updates, as you have also already noticed and pointed out, have been becoming more or less a copy-paste week in week out as those reworks take time. So we are changing how Dev update works.
First change is that there will no longer be weekly updates. Rather, we are posting them as we have info to share with you, and at least once a month to at least keep you posted that we are here. Fort today, we are gonna start a conversation on some popular topics that have been coming up.
First one being the roadmap and where it is: The answer is not available to be seen in public yet. As we still have finishing details to go over on how, when, and what can be done on the calendar, we do not want to put information out there that might be different in a week. As for why it is taking a bit longer to have the details done and ready, well, that is something we hope we can share with you soon.
Next up, we have the PTE. No, we have not forgotten about it. We were collecting the feedback and data we got from it and are making adjustments before we put out another round of testing.
Here is what we have gathered so far:
Loot changes are a step in the right direction; that much is clear. From the feedback gathered, the biggest issue right now is that there is too much military loot on PTE, and still not enough general loot. So we are balancing it out a bit more, raising overall loot a bit while also slightly reducing military loot to have it balanced. Locked lockers having a 100% drop is something we see everyone likes, so that will remain unchanged.
As for trader changes, we see an overwhelmingly positive reception to it, but also some skepticism. Solo players and low population are concerned that traders will then become useless in their environment, and we can see that point. We are looking into a solution for those cases, so be assured that nothing will be enforced until we have something on that front.
The least amount of feedback was given on the vehicle front, so we are keeping it as is for now. In the future, though, even vehicle spawners will be adjusted accordingly as soon as we can free up people who can set it up, who are now working on those long-awaited features, as those will not be delayed anymore.
So we will keep you posted when the new changes hit the PTE, and cannot wait to hear from you guys again to make sure looting on SCUM is at its best possible state.
Until next time,
Beda.
