Tvori Update—Export animated meshes in Alembic & FBX

Finally, with the new update, you will be able to export your meshes with animations in Alembic & FBX from Tvori! Here's an example of a video that was made by Sterling Osment from Framework VFX using Gravity Sketch for modeling, Tvori for the layout and animation, and Marmoset for rendering.

Tvori Update—360 Video Export and More

With this update, we introduce 360 video export and the support of exporting videos with sounds as well lots of improvements and fixes!

You can export 360 videos from regular cameras as well as from play areas. To export a 360 video, select a target camera or a play area from which you want to export the video, press Share button at the top-right on Timeline, and then press "360 Video" on the appeared context menu.

Here are two examples of 360 videos made in Tvori—a sneak peek of a short called Lightning by Jeremy Casper and a scene from Captain Blue Screen by Sterling Osment‎—the winner at our recent contest:

#TvoriMediumTime contest and more

We would really like to support our creators who are now participating in #TvoriMediumTime contest and thus in this update we’ve mainly concentrated on fixing bugs and polishing some features to assure smooth experience during the contest.

#TvoriMediumTime contest is organized by Tvori with Oculus Medium. Check this link for more details http://www.tvori.co/tvori-medium-time

With this update we fixed the way animations are saving to the sun—so it’s possible now to edit animations of the sun and load them correctly. We improved the way gizmos work in general and with a selection of objects in particular—it’s possible now to animate a group of objects using gizmos, and gizmos should be less annoying for the first time users. Using puppets and cameras became more convenient as well.

Improvements & Fixes:
— It’s possible to move and rotate cameras, lights, projectors, and play areas with gizmos
— Switching materials for containers.
— Objects that you lock with Lock tool are now saving their state of being locked to a scene, so you don’t have to lock them again after opening a scene you were working on before where the objects had been locked
— It’s possible now to bend a chain of objects linked together using Gizmo
— Animate multiple objects at the same time with gizmos when in recording mode
— Made gizmo handles more precise on a group of selected objects.
— Improved the way Mixed Reality controllers vibrate
— Gizmos are turned off by default now so if you’re using Tvori for the first time you will not grab them by accident
— Gizmo handles are hiding if you are holding an object
— Gizmo handles on multiple selected objects are aligned by world axis
— Puppet pieces are locked by default on Shelf now
— You can use as many cameras as you would like on a scene now. Before the limit was 10 cameras

— Sun. It’s possible now to animate and edit animations of the sun, save them and load correctly.
— Made selecting and copying of puppet parts work correctly.
— Made getting objects out of Shelf work correctly in cases when objects' pivots are set far away from the actual model. It often happened with imported sculpted from Oculus Medium.
— Fixed incorrect undo/redo of manipulation with Gizmo controls on a selection of objects made with the selection sphere
It’s possible to undo/redo locking of objects

Tvori Update—More Reliable Saving, Improved Animation Recording, and More

With this update, we focused on making the saving system more stable. We still do have this annoying window that appears when something is wrong internally in Tvori, but we plan to replace it with a much more subtle UI in the future updates.

We fixed a critical problem in real-time animation recording where it wasn’t really possible to re-write animations correctly.

We fixed and improved several other parts of Tvori. See below:

Fixes:
— Made it possible to re-record real-time animations
— Fixed potential errors when loading models on the scene
— An error that happened after undoing several events that involve using grabbing objects from Object Shelf
— Sometimes loading a scene would cause an error
— Made it possible to select and delete brush strokes without any errors
— Fixed opening a tutorial video when hovering over any part of the camera
— Scale objects gradually when they get off the shelf

Improvements:
— Made the saving system safer. A save shouldn’t rewrite itself if something has happened in the process of saving
— (Steam) Improved the way loading screen shows up
— (Oculus Store) Added loading screen on Oculus
— The way indication of scale appears when scaling with one hand
— Onboarding videos for Oculus
— Switching between different object gizmos (move, scale, rotate)
— The way how logs (a list of messages stating how Tvori is doing, including errors) get saved internally
