UPDATE #5 HOTFIX [23.10]

Hey gang, despite our best efforts some pesky bugs managed to sneak into our last update, but no worries: we’ve got you covered.



HERE IS WHAT WE FIXED:


fixed a not responding crash that would appear at random
fixed a pure virtual call crash
the cru’cas would sometimes roar while sliding after chasing player for some time instead of stopping
sometimes the crucas would roar and bite without sound
tidier status effects UI
fixed item popup options not working when clicked sometimes
Jack should no longer be able to jump while swimming
can sell weapons to Eli and Stone Heads Trader for real now
various bitebug remote control issues
typos in dialogs
health regen would sometimes keep the resting buff even after Jack is done resting
Swift Strider shouldn’t address Jack while you control a bitebug anymore
some stats were reset to full after saving and reloading
Jack should no longer play running animations at various times when he is falling
fixed disappearing light sources
fixed Lost Arphant quest bug where if you talked to Juggo before the quest is started you couldn’t finish the quest

KNOWN ISSUES


the game can crash during loading if you click any mouse button
sometimes loading can be very slow

UPDATE #5

Dear space cowboys, we're glad to announce the latest update! Lots of changes await you, not the least of them is the actual Windscream Canyon which is now open for exploration, new enemy type and much awaited ability to remap keys.

Here are some of the biggest changes since the last update:

PERFORMANCE

Performance improved significantly due to new shadow system
Reduced post-load startup lag on game start
Eliminated random freezes during the gameplay



WORLD

A huge new area was added to the level, the actual Windscream Canyon is now open for exploration
Added a new strong enemy, Aborigine Hybrids populate remote areas and caves
Added catwalks and sniper nests for Scalphunter Snipers in preparation for future quests



VISUALS

Prettier shadows
Improved lighting for vegetation
New sliding animations for steep slopes
Falling and landing animations for bandits
Different skin tones for aborigines
New antigravium crystals
Various new decorative crystals
New type of trees
Overhauled all kinds of debris



GAMEPLAY

Immersive antigravium mining: without dialogue
Improved fist fighting: hits are being registered from both left and right punches
Smarter camera behavior for ranged weapons
Faster item pickup
Survival elements: a new relationship between basic needs (hunger, thirst, rest) and health regeneration
The way food, water, booze and medicine (consumables) affect you has been changed
Health and stamina regenerate much faster after you had a filling lunch, are hydrated, well-rested and relaxing near a campfire
You can see how different types of food affect you in the character window (see UI changes) as well as in item's descriptions



AI

The AI of cru'cas and bitebug was written from scratch using behavior trees.



ITEMS

Warehouse keeper Eli in the Fort and Stone Heads trader in the Stone Heads camp will now buy all kinds of weapons and ammo



UI

Key remap
Detailed status effect list in character screen (‘C’ key by default)
Incomplete quests and notes are shown first in the journal
You can now hide completed quests in the journal
Character screen opens up together with inventory
(OPTIONAL) Immersive UI hides parts of the interface when they aren’t needed
(OPTIONAL) Auto reloading
Tutorial can be turned off via a checkbox in the options menu
Various tweaks and adjustments
Dragging and dropping items should be smoother now



FIXES

Fixed Old Outcast aborigine refusing to talk if the bullies were lured away rather than killed
Fixed loading breaking the NPC's patrols
Fixed dialog not stopping on NPC's death
Fixed player being able to damage himself with an RC (remote controlled) bug
Fixed main character sometimes playing wrong jump animations
Lots of other fixes and tweaks



IMPORTANT NOTES

This update should significantly improve optimization of the game. That is why we would be very grateful if you will notify us about Exoplanet performance on your PC (don't forget to mention your PC specs, please). You can do it on our Discord channel. Other feedback will be much appreciated, too.

Update #4 Hotfix

Hey gang, in the last update some pesky bugs managed to slip through, so we've decided to release a hotfix that addresses the most critical issues we could fix on such short notice.



CHANGELOG

a corrupted savegame should no longer prevent the game from starting
fixed unreadable books
TAB also opens inventory
equipped weapon now autoassigns into preferred quickslot
fixed picked up item's magazine overriding existing one
fixed naked bandits after loading a game
fixed dialog history scroll delay
fixed red artifacts with forced anisotropic filtering turned on in driver settings
flares should now stick closer to the enemy on hit
fixed double experience from some mobs
fixed some mobs not casting shadows
set proper turn animations for Juggo, Ampa and Chew
level fixes and tweaks
minor fixes in shaders

We also would like to remind you that you can enhance Exoplanet graphics via Nvidia Control Panel / Radeon Catalyst Center.

As this is a hotfix, loading a game started after UPDATE #4 should be fine.
