The "Five Epochs of the Navy" Campaign
The new permanent Campaign comprises 50 tasks grouped into five missions, each of which is dedicated to a specific shipbuilding epoch. To finish the Campaign, you need to complete tasks playing ships of various tiers: starting from Tier II–IV ships for the first mission, and progressing to Tiers VIII–X for the final mission. Most of the tasks must be completed playing certain ships related to the history of the navy. For example, some of the tasks of the first mission are inspired by the development of battleship building technologies and should be completed playing battleships of this era, such as III South Carolina, III Kawachi, IV Gangut, or III Dreadnought—which contributed to the adoption of the name given to this period of naval history.

However, you can complete the Campaign, collect all the containers of the new collection, and obtain the final reward by completing the first three tasks of each mission playing any ships of the relevant tiers.

The reward for completing the Campaign is the Epoch permanent camouflage, which can be mounted on all Tier IX ships, except for IX AL Sov. Rossiya.

The first Directive has become available with the release of Update 0.9.8, while those that follow will be unlocked each week.
Please note: you can complete the tasks of each mission multiple times. This will allow you to continue earning Stars upon each completion, but you'll receive the reward for completing the task for the first time only.
The "Five Epochs of the Navy" Collection
The "Five Epochs of the Navy" collection is made up of five sections, with six elements in each. Each section is dedicated to a specific period in the history of the navy in the first half of the 20th century—from ships of the dreadnought era to those of World War II and the post-war years. Having completed the entire collection, you'll have learned about the construction history, design features, and fates of prominent representatives of the shipbuilding epochs.
The reward for completing each section is 1 day of Warships Premium Account. The reward for completing the entire collection is the Epoch permanent camouflage.

Elements of the collection can only be obtained from the same-name containers. The exchange rate for duplicate elements is 1:1. To exchange duplicates, you need to select a vacant slot in a collection section and confirm that you want to exchange your duplicates for the missing item in the window that appears.

You can obtain 30 "Five Epochs of the Navy" containers by completing tasks of the same-name Campaign.
A "Five Epochs of the Navy" container includes:
• One element of the "Five Epochs of the Navy" collection.
  • 1x World of Warships Anniversary camouflage.
  • One of the following items: 2x signals of the same type (Zulu, Papa Papa, Equal Speed Charlie London, or India Bravo Terrathree); or 500 Free XP; or 50,000 credits.

Ranked Battles: the Eighteenth Season

Key Rules of the Season ● Rewards
Key Rules of the Season
Starts: Wed. 16 Sep. 11:00 CEST (UTC+2) Ends: Tue. 13 Oct. 10:30 CEST (UTC+2)

Format: 8 vs. 8 playing Tier X ships.
Maps and modes: North, Sea of Fortune, and Greece in Domination mode; Sleeping Giant and Warrior's Path in Arms Race mode; and Tears of the Desert in Epicenter mode.

You can earn the Stars needed to climb the ranking ladder by winning battles. At the majority of ranks, a defeat means a lost Star. If you finish first on your team in terms of XP earned, you get to keep your hard-earned Star—even if your team lost the battle.

Those who are new to Ranked Battles will start the Season from Rank 18. Those who participated in the previous Season will receive bonus Stars after the first battle of the current Season: one for each rank attained in the previous Season.
Rewards
For the current Season, victories can bring you up to 5,500 Steel; 2,750 doubloons; one Ranked Token; and many other rewards.

Once the Season ends, all players at Rank 15 or higher will receive a commemorative flag.

League Flags reduce the cost of servicing your ships by 10% and 20% until the end of the Season. Flags awarded for joining Leagues will be removed from player accounts at the end of the Season.

Dry Dock: Anchorage

One of the new features of Update 0.9.8 is the Dockyard, where you'll be able to construct Anchorage.

By progressing through missions of the Directives, you can complete 18 out of 20 shipbuilding phases and obtain the corresponding rewards at the Dockyard. In order to complete the 19th and 20th phases, in addition to finishing all the event's Directives, you'll need to purchase any two shipbuilding phases by spending doubloons.
History
In mid-1940, the U.S. Navy issued an order for the construction of a series of Baltimore-class heavy cruisers, which became the standard ships of this type in the U.S. Navy during World War II. At the same time, the General Board of the U.S. Navy assigned the Bureau of Ships the task of developing a design for a completely new heavy cruiser with improved armor, a greater number of main battery guns, and enhanced speed.

Prepared in September 1940, the design, codenamed CA-A—which featured reinforced armor and could theoretically achieve speeds of up to 34 knots—was not much bigger than Baltimore in terms of displacement. Both ships carried nine main battery guns. The CA-C design, presented in March 1941, which fulfilled all the requirements of the General Board, was close in dimensions to the already ordered Alaska-class large cruisers. A balance was found in the preliminary design, codenamed CA-B—with a displacement of 17,000 tons and speed of 33 knots, she had twelve 203 mm guns placed in four turrets.

The CA-B project has been resurrected in the form of World of Warships cruiser Anchorage.
Modeling the Ship
Main battery: twelve 203 mm/55 Mark 15 guns in four triple turrets

Dual-purpose battery: eight 127 mm/38 Mark 12 guns in two twin and four single mounts

Torpedoes: two 533 mm quadruple-tube torpedo launchers

  • The Hydroacoustic Search consumable and torpedo armament she carries enable Anchorage to perform effectively in close quarters combat, while her Smoke Generator—a feature not typically found on American heavy cruisers—will help her escape situations where she finds herself under concentrated enemy fire.
  • She earns more credits per battle, and her permanent camouflage adds a 50% XP bonus per battle and reduces the cost of the ship's post-battle service by 10%.

Developer Bulletin 0.9.9
IMPORTANT! Because the Update is still being tested, the information in this Bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the Update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the Update is released.
U.S. Battleships: Part 1 ● Mercenaries ● Other Changes
U.S. Battleships: Part 1
Update 0.9.9 kicks off an event with the new U.S. battleships VIII Kansas and IX Minnesota right in spotlight! These ships will become available in Early Access on the Live Server only when the Update is released. Meanwhile, we invite you to take part in the testing of the event.

Please note: the rewards for activities on the Public Test server may differ from those on the live server. The new U.S. battleships will not be available on the Public Test server.
Features of the Ship Branch
• Numerous main battery guns with a solid salvo weight and decent firing range, which comes at the expense of longer gun reload times.
  • The ships enjoy great maneuverability for their type, as well as good anti-torpedo protection, but are rather slow.
  • Their decent AA defenses are reinforced by the availability of the Defensive AA Fire consumable.
Early Access: VIII Kansas can be obtained by completing Directives. IX Minnesota can be obtained from random bundles that are available in the Armory in exchange for doubloons.

Rewards for completing Directives: a new temporary resource called American Tokens.

Rewards in exchange for American Tokens: sequentially available bundles with Gold Eagle permanent camouflage patterns for the new U.S. battleships, as well as other rewards.

The Naval Base Port has been updated.
Mercenaries
Division Commanders will now have the option to invite "mercenaries," i.e. players from outside their Clan, to join their Divisions for Clan Battles.

The new feature will allow Clan leaders to test candidates who want to join their Clan in a real combat scenario, or fill any roster gaps without having to actually accept new players into the Clan.

The following rules apply to mercenaries:
  • To add a mercenary to the team, simply invite them to join your Division. You can search for players via the "Divisions" tab in the game client.
  • After a battle, the mercenary receives rewards based on the league of the Clan they went into battle with.
  • However, the mercenary will not receive the associated economic bonuses of the Clan they fought for.
Other Changes
The barbettes and main battery guns have been updated for all ships. Previously, when a shell hit the main battery turret, damage was dealt only to the module itself, and the player received a "Penetration" ribbon without any actual damage having been dealt to the enemy ship. Now, any damage dealt to the main battery turret also entails a reduction in the ship's hit points in the amount of 1/10 of the maximum damage of the shell. This way, hitting a turret will no longer result in a penetration without inflicting actual damage.

We've changed the visual appearance of aiming reticles for carrier squadrons and reworked the aircraft camera performance. This change will affect only the visual component of a squadron's interface, making it easier to aim with all types of armament without affecting gameplay.

Any aircraft operating within a squadron will now change position in a smoother way; the trajectory of bombers moving in on a target will change slightly, and any damage taken by the aircraft in the process will cause it to shake.

We've improved the visual display of water for all graphic settings. In particular, the visual noise applied to the sea has been removed entirely on the horizon. This change will improve game client performance.

The Spaceport has been updated to accommodate the new lighting model and enhanced HDR technology.
