Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the update is released.

Submarines
[expand] [/expand]
Update 0.10.7 is going to introduce a special season of Ranked Battles that you'll be able to participate in playing submarines! To prevent long waiting times in battle queues caused by many people trying to play submarines at the same time, submarines will only be available for limited rental periods in free random daily bundles.

The new ship type will also be available in Co-op Battles. This will allow you to check out the new mechanics in a more relaxed environment.

Commanders will receive a fifth skill tree specifically for submarines, and some of the skills of other ship types will receive additional effects that are designed to counter submarines.
Playing Submarines
They are fragile and stealthy hunters that are capable of traveling not only horizontally, but also into the depths. The diving depth of a submarine affects her detectability, viewing range, and interactions with other ship types and submarines. Submarines have four submergence levels: surface, periscope depth, operating depth, and maximum depth. Each submergence level needs to be used in a specific situation, and the penalties and bonuses of each level must be taken into consideration. The time that submarines can spend underwater is limited by their dive capacity. However, dive capacity can be gradually restored when a submarine is on the surface.

The main armament carried by submarines is acoustic homing torpedoes. The sonar ping mechanic will help you increase the potential effectiveness of your torpedo salvos. Hitting an enemy ship with a sonar ping temporarily activates acoustic homing on that ship. Torpedoes can ascend from the depths and home in on an enemy only with the help of an active sonar ping effect.

Emitting a sonar ping makes your submarine more visible, so be sure to consider this factor if the enemy is nearby.
Playing Against Submarines
Many destroyers and some light cruisers carry depth charges that can hit submarines that are lurking in the depth. Approach the approximate location of the submarine and release your depth charges using the G key.

Some battleships can call anti-submarine defense aircraft. You can choose that armament type by pressing 4. The camera rises and the reticle allows you to select an area within a 10 km radius from the ship. Aircraft will arrive and drop depth charges in this area shortly after selecting it.

A submarine on the surface or at the periscope depth can be hit with shells, ship-launched and airborne torpedoes, bombs, and rockets, as well as by ramming. If you detect a submerged submarine, its dive capacity will be depleted more rapidly.
Ranked Battles
Update 0.10.7 kicks off the Fourth Season of Ranked Battles.
Format
• 7 vs. 7
  • Tier VI in the Bronze League
  • Tier VIII in the Silver League
  • Tier X in the Gold League
Changes to Ranked Battles
• You can participate playing rental submarines, which are available from free random daily bundles.
  • Ranked Battles statistics are now available in the profile summary. Distribution by league starts from the Fourth Season. Statistics for previous seasons are not available.
  • After qualifying, you can continue to play in the next league without waiting for the start of the next Sprint. If you reach Rank 1 in the Bronze League and successfully qualify, you can continue playing in the Silver League within the same Sprint.
Details of the Fourth Season of Ranked Battles will be announced later.

Changes to Commander Skills
Since the latest Commander skills update, we've taken a close look at your feedback and compiled a huge amount of data that relates to the changes. We've made some balance tweaks and improved or replaced unpopular skills.

For example, for battleship Commanders, we've updated the mechanics of the Improved Secondary Battery Aiming skill and replaced Consumables Enhancements with Brisk, which now costs 2 skill points. Some skills have received additional effects that are intended to counter submarines.
When Update 0.10.7 goes live, all players will have a 100% discount on resetting Commander skills.

You can learn more details about the updated skills during the Public Test and on our development blog.
Dockyard
With the release of Update 0.10.7,  VIII De Zeven Provinciën will become available for construction at the Dockyard.
Key features of the new Dockyard
• Ship construction at the Dockyard comprises 24 shipbuilding phases. You can advance through these by completing Dockyard combat missions or spending 1,500 Doubloons on each phase.
  • In total, you can progress through 21 out of 24 shipbuilding phases by completing Dockyard combat missions. To finish building the ship, you'll need to purchase three shipbuilding phases.
  • If you complete the construction of VIII De Zeven Provinciën by spending Doubloons, make sure to keep progressing through the Dockyard combat missions—completing each phase will bring you 250 Steel.

[expand] [/expand]
The rest of the rules remain the same as those for the previous Dockyard.

The "Dutch Cruisers: Part 2" event
Update 0.10.7 continues to offer Early Access to Dutch cruisers. We've added a chain of combat missions that will bring you the following rewards when completed:
  • Unique Dutch Commander Klaas Janssen with the following enhanced skills:
    • For destroyers, cruisers, and battleships—Pyrotechnician: +1.5% to the chances of setting a target on fire when hitting it with HE shells (by default: +1%).
    • For cruisers and battleships—Expert AA Marksman: +35% to AA damage in the priority sector (by default: +25%).
  • The "Dutch Cruisers: Part 2" commemorative flag.
Early Access: Dutch Tier IV, VI, VIII, and IX cruisers that hit the seas in Early Access with the release of Update 0.10.6 continue to be available in random and sequentially available bundles in the Armory.

When Update 0.10.8 goes live, Dutch Tier I–X cruisers will become available for all players to research.
Please note: the new Dutch cruisers and Commander Klaas Janssen cannot be obtained on the Public Test server.
Return of Missouri
Update 0.10.7 features an event that's dedicated to the end of World War II. During the event, IX Missouri will become available for purchase in exchange for Doubloons.

IX Missouri was our first experience in creating a Tier IX Premium ship, and during her adjustment, the ship received excessively high Credit profitability compared to other Premium Tier IX ships. The existence of a large number of ships with such high profitability negatively affects the game economy.

Furthermore, it was often not the ship’s specifications and gameplay, but her excessive profitability that became the determining factor for players deciding which ship to take into battle. This resulted in some Captains playing IX Missouri more often than they planned.

At the same time, IX Missouri is one of the most famous historical ships, and we would like more players to have the opportunity to add the ship to their collections.

In the forthcoming update, IX Missouri's base economic capabilities will be brought into line with other Tier IX Premium ships. Players who already own the ship at the moment Update 0.10.7 goes live will, on average, earn the same number of Credits as before—a permanent combat mission that applies an economic bonus to all battles will maintain the ship’s economic value for everyone who owned Missouri prior to this change.

Dutch Cruisers: Early Access

Dutch Tier IV–IX cruisers have arrived in Early Access.
The "Dutch Cruisers: Part 1" Event
What are the features of the new branch?
  • Good concealment and maneuverability, but a short firing range.
  • Tier VIII–X cruisers are armed with main battery guns that have large calibers for cruisers:
    • VIII Haarlem—203 mm
    • IX Johan de Witt—240 mm
    • X Gouden Leeuw—283 mm
  • At higher tiers, the new cruisers have solid armor that provides decent protection against HE shells.
  • The Hydroacoustic Search, Fighter, and Spotting Aircraft consumables are available from Tier IV.
    • Fighter and Spotting Aircraft are not available for VIII Haarlem, IX Johan de Witt or X Gouden Leeuw.
  • An enhanced version of the Repair Party consumable and Defensive AA Fire are available from Tier VIII.
  • The new Airstrike armament is available from Tier VI.
Airstrike
Airstrike is a new type of armament that's set to make its first appearance on Dutch cruisers. It allows you to call in aircraft that bombard a specified area with HE bombs. Airstrike was created based on the low altitude bombing principle that was actually used in battle. Bombs dropped from aircraft in this manner had drogue parachutes which slowed their descent.

[expand] [/expand]
Operating principle:
• When you activate Airstrike by pressing 4, an aiming reticle appears. This represents the location the bombers will strike. The strike area is comparable in size to two battleships.
  • Clicking the left mouse button calls in a squadron that bombards the specified area after a certain period of time. The aircraft cannot spot enemies and cannot be directly controlled.
  • The bombs have drogue parachutes which slow their descent.
  • The indicator near the drop area shows how long it will take for the bombs to reach the target after the aircraft are called in.

Preparation of Airstrike begins at the start of each battle, similar to the loading of main battery guns and torpedo launchers. Tier VI–VII cruisers can call in only one attacking squadron, while Tier VIII–X cruisers can call in two squadrons. The armament is reloaded in successive order. Airstrike has a maximum operating distance of 10–13 km, depending on the ship tier.

When using Airstrike, you should take the long time it takes for the bombs to fall into account. It's best to deploy this armament against low-mobility targets such as battleships and large cruisers. You can also use it to strike any enemy ships that might think they are safely hiding behind the cover of islands.
