Helldivers 2 just got new ship modules and one will, er, let you pay a lot to teach your crew to pack boxes

Hola Helldivers 2 people. Arrowhead's just dropped some nice new ship module upgrades for you to contemplate purchasing and ultimately chicken out because you're too stingy. Seriously, these are aimed at hardened vets looking to take their craft to the next level, so you'll have to fork over a lot in order to...erm...make your crew expert box packers.

If you're out of the loop, today's the day that the Democratic Detonation Warbond actually arrives in-game to help you continue to battle the automaton invasion force, provided you can avoid accidentally blowing yourself up with the new crossbow. Alongside that, these ship upgrades have arrived, and they're just like taking a trip to space IKEA (other furniture shops are available).

As announced by community manager Baskinator on game's official Discord server, these modules are a part of the Super Destroyer Fleet Upgrade that's just been deployed, which lets you grab some level four revamps for the different sections of your ship. As you might expect given they're level four, they do slightly more than just add some of those throws and blankets that your mum likes to the sofas and cost a fair amount.

The fight against the Helldivers 2 Automatons rages on, and a mysterious message that appeared briefly on the co-op shooter's social media has players asking questions about the ongoing major order as we continue to battle the bots across a wide front. One of the best PC games of the year, Helldivers 2 has absolutely captivated my time, and continued balance updates and improvements have honed it into an even more fun experience as the primary conflict shifts from the Terminids to the Automatons.

Helldivers 2's reward system will be overhauled soon, but some players’ automaton battle plans really aren’t that medal worthy

As we all know, the main reason you go to war - in real life or in Helldivers 2 - isn't because you actually believe in the cause, it's because you're hoping to bag a nice medal and a pat on the head from some commander after watching your mates die. Thankfully, due to some recent issues with medals in Arrowhead's online shooter, it looks like the entire system that brings such rewards to you will be getting an overhaul soon.

If you're out of the loop, when it's come to folks actually getting the medals they've earned by fighting valiantly in major orders and not just goofing around having snowball fights, there's sometimes been a bit of a delay in that actually happening. The game's developers, though, look to have a plan to sort it permanently.

Taking to the game's official Discord server, community manager Twinbeard provided an update for those still yet to recieve some of their spoils from recent campaigns. "Medals for two of the latest three major orders have now been shipped," the write, adding that the last batches should drop some time today, April 10.

Helldivers 2's Major Orders reward system is getting a full overhaul, following player complaints about their hard-earned medals being slow to arrive and as such, damaging their faith in managed democracy, with potentially dire consequences for their ability to massacre spiky robots and large insects.
