New Game Announcement Q&A Event!



Dear Stormworkers,

On Saturday, we are announcing our new game, showing the trailer, answering your questions, and playing live.

Please join us! Click "Set a reminder" on the side bar and join the live stream here on the Stormworks store page.

This is the biggest announcement we will have ever made. We have been working on this new game for 5 years so there is a lot to discuss.

If you haven't seen our previous announcements about the new game then here is a summary:

This game isn't going to be Stormworks 2. While being inspired by Stormworks and the communities feedback, it is a very different game and does not replace Stormworks.

We are continuing to support and develop Stormworks. We have managed to develop the new game in parallel to Stormworks for the last 5 years, and that will continue. Expect more updates for Stormworks into the future, as normal.

The new game is a vehicle building survival game. The vehicle building is very different. It is more detailed, more involved, better for small vehicles, and worse for huge ones.



Please do join us! We will be releasing a huge amount of info and can't wait to share and get your feedback.

v1.15.11 - The Buoyancy Blocks Update!



Dear Stormworkers,

In this minor update, we have added some new buoyancy blocks. The existing buoyancy block was just a capsule - these new blocks are some corner and edge pieces, intended for use on medium sized vehicles.



A common application for these blocks are sea planes, and they have been designed based on player requests. This will hopefully solve common issues when designing sea planes. We expect there will be other block designs that players need for different types of vehicles and different contexts. While we don't want to start adding every possible shape of block, we are happy to consider other contexts. If you have suggestions, please make a feature request on the issue tracker!



As well as these blocks, we have added several fixes for issues reported on the support tracker. Thanks to all players who have given detailed reports and helped us identify these problems.

v1.15.11

Feature - new buoyancy blocks for medium sized vehicles
Feature - added epilepsy warning on startup to be similar to other games
Fix - all clothing items correctly removed from characters when respawning
Fix - corrected documentation for component modding / renderLaser function
Fix - fixed incorrect character transforms in modded seats with custom angles
Fix - fixed component mod compiler to correctly track component names for multibody components

v1.15.10 - The Microcontroller Layers Update!



Dear Stormworkers,

In this update, we have added layered microcontroller nodes! This allows nodes of different types to be placed in the same voxel, meaning microcontrollers can be more compact.

When designing the node layout on your microcontroller, the interface remains similar. The key difference is that now nodes on different layers can now be placed in the same voxel. For example, a composite node can be placed on the same voxel as an on/off node.

Feature - microcontroller nodes belonging to different layers can now overlap
Rework - rebalanced rolling resistance of small wide tank wheels
Rework - jumping now resets the player character controller, fixing issue where sometimes could get stuck to floor
Fix - fixed collision issue on barrier in fishing village
Fix - fixed turn-key initial state when spawned as default on

v1.15.8 - The Vehicle Folders Update!



Dear Stormworkers,

In this update, we have added folders for organizing your vehicles!

We have added new pivots allowing to pass fluid and torque. These are a useful change for many vehicle building situations and complete the set of pivot parts.

This is a long-requested feature and is very useful for players which huge number of creations or large numbers of subscriptions.

Players can create folders, then assign vehicles to those folders, as well as filtering the screen to creations only in that folder.
