Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on March 30, 2022 (Wed).

[h3]Background Music Revamp[/h3]

The world of Black Desert is filled with diverse regions which also play unique background tracks that were composed to best fit the culture and atmosphere of each region. In an attempt to introduce more of our Adventurers to these delightful sounds, we revamped the entire background music system, and the specifics involving how each track is repeated and played in-game. We also plan on adding exclusive tracks to play when your character riding on horseback, so please look forward to more of such ear candy to be updated in the near future.

● Reworked the background music playback system to play music according to the individual styles of the five major regions in the continent.
- The playback system will now play several tracks in succession, instead of repeating the same track over and over again for the same region.
- Combat music will now fade while fighting normal monsters; in areas with constant combat, music that best suits the specific region will play.
* We plan to add horse riding music in a future update.

● Improved movements during auto-navigation to appear more natural.
● Improved HP bar/Family name and other UI features to no longer overlap with her character if her height was customized to max height.
● Markthanan's Flourish - Improved the camera effect to display more naturally.
● Dragon's Advance - Improved to combo more smoothly from moving forward or sprinting.
● Azure Onslaught - Changed to combo from jumping forward.

● Embers - Changed to now spin and deal the down slash animation more quickly.
● Omnislash, Skewer - Changed to now stab with the Slayer more quickly during the skill.
● Flow: Asphyxiate - Changed the preceding skill to Skewer I.
● Abyssal Fang - Improved to now activate the skill by spinning your character based on the direction the camera is facing.
● Markthanan's Dominion - Changed Azure Onslaught or Markthanan's Breath to have a higher priority to activate when pressing directional keys over this skill
● Dragon's Maw - Increased the activation speed of attack 2.
● Markthanan's Heart - Improved to now apply its effects to Black Spirit: Markthanan's Flourish and Black Spirit: Blazing Strike during the skill. The skill description has been changed accordingly.
● Improved the slowdown effect on hits for the following skills.
- Markthanan's Flourish, Brimbolt Strike, Flow: Brimbolt Wave, Markthanan's Scale, Dragonwalk, Azure Onslaught, Flow: Markthanan's Wings, Flow: Markthanan's Claws
● Markthanan's Dominion - Improved to now combo more smoothly into Dragonwalk and Brimbolt Raze.
● Brimbolt Raze - Improved to now recover ions not only for pulled target hits.
● Omnislash - Improved to now combo from Dragonwalk and Refraction with its attack 2.
● Azure Onslaught - Improved to combo more smoothly into Markthanan's Dominion.
● Blazing Strike - Improved to activate instantly when comboed from the following skills.
- Skewer, Flow: Markthanan's Claws, Flow: Markthanan's Wings, Omnislash attack 1, Markthanan's Flourish
● Flow: Asphyxiate - Improved to activate faster when used after Blazing Strike.
● Dragonwalk - Improved to combo more smoothly into Skewer.
● Markthanan's Flourish (I to Absolute) - Fixed the issue where the skill would activate once more when comboed into Flow: Markthanan's Wings or Refraction.
● Markthanan's Scale - Changed the part of the skill description about charging ions since the skill does not actually charge ions.
● Fixed the issue where abnormal movements would be displayed when holding Directional Keys + SPACE after jumping to the left or right in a non-combat stance.
● Embers - Fixed the issue where it wouldn't be activated while moving.
● Fixed the issue where your slayer would appear abnormal when sprinting after dismounting your horse.
● Markthanan's Flourish - Fixed the issue where Sprint attacks of Slayer Training would continue when the skill is locked or not learned.
● Fixed the issue where your character's movements would appear abnormal when mounting a fast horse in combat stance.
● Dragonwalk - Fixed the issue where the motion would appear abnormal when comboing into Skewer.
● Fixed the issue where your character's shard would appear abnormal when jumping over walls while sprinting.
● Prime: Dragonborn Constitution - Fixed the issue where the effect that removes the "Movement, Attack, Casting Speed decrease for nearby allies" effect wouldn't be applied.
● Markthanan's Heart - Fixed the issue where the effects wouldn't be applied under certain circumstances.
● Brimbolt Raze - Fixed the issue where all 10 targets would be pulled in after other skills, regardless of the skill level.
● Dragon's Maw IV - Fixed the issue where the attack 1 damage and effects wouldn't be applied when comboing with other skills.
● Abyssal Fang - Fixed the issue where comboing into Dragon's Maw wouldn't display visual effects.
● Fixed the issue where you couldn't use Processing with Shattered Dragon's Malice even when Heating 15 Dragon Scale Fossils with the effect of Ceaseless Vengeance.

● Adjusted the amount of Parley consumed per Barter to be reduced by 0.1% per Barter Level from Master 11 to Guru 50.


[h3]Items[/h3]

As we mentioned during the CalpheON - Episode 2 Q&A session, we have adjusted the cooldown for all elixirs. You will now be able to drink a variety of elixirs in content such as party monster zones with shorter cooldown times. Please drink responsibly.

● Reduced the cooldown of Elixirs, Enhancers, and Damage Reducers from 10 sec to 1 sec.

[h3]UI[/h3]

● Added a function where upon successfully enhancing to [PEN (V) Naru gear], you'll be able to immediately convert it into [PRI (I) Tuvala gear] from the Enhancement window.


● Added a new colored icon for a Fence with crops that can be harvested (R) or undergo plant breeding (F5) when viewed on the World Map (M).

● Released Drakania, the Destroyers of the Ynix.


[h3]The Mountain of Eternal Winter[/h3]

● The "Mountain of Eternal Winter (Everfrost)" is now available in the world of Black Desert.


[h3]Main Quests and Recurring Quests[/h3]

● Newly created characters can now choose to start in either the Mountain of Eternal Winter or the Ancient Stone Chamber.
- The "Select Starting Zone" UI will display upon pressing the "Create Character" button in the Character Creation window.


[h3]Weather and Effects[/h3]
● The weather of the Mountain of Eternal Winter is always snowing.
- Snowstorms will randomly occur throughout the region.
* Be exposed to a snowstorm for too long, and you may catch the "Frostbite" debuff.
- Snowstorms will occur with greater intensity at higher altitudes.

● You can obtain "Forgotten Witch's Token" in all monster zones at the Mountain of Eternal Winter.
- Right-clicking on the item will take you to Erethea's Limbo and, with the item in your possession, you can proceed with the trial there.
- The trial at Erethea's Limbo will end 60 minutes after it begins.
- When you enter Erethea's Limbo with the "Forgotten Witch's Token" in your possession, symbols will appear on four gems.
* The goal of Erethea's Limbo is to find all the chambers with the relevant symbols engraved on them and to overcome all the trials.

[h3]Erebjork, the Dreadwinter Guardian[/h3]



Fight in the Jade Starlight Forest and Dreadwinter Tree Fossils, and you may find the [Wanewinter Guardian] Erebjork crossing your path. A stronger version of the [Wanewinter Guardian] Erebjork can also be found within snowstorms throughout Everfrost. Erebjork will appear with her own spirit, ready to face all Adventurers who dare set foot in the Mountain of Eternal Winter.

● Added the Labreska's Helmet item.


[h3]Crystals, Cooking, Alchemy, Processing, and Items[/h3]

● Added the following items which can be obtained from the Mountain of Eternal Winter.


● Added Cooking and Elixir (Draught) items you can craft with items obtained from the Mountain of Eternal Winter region.


● Added items that can be crafted with materials obtained in the Mountain of Eternal Winter via Wood/Mineral Workbenches.


● Added the following Shai costume to be craftable via a Lv. 1 Costume Mill.


[h3]The Mountain of Eternal Winter Hunting[/h3]

● Rumors of new hunting monsters being spotted in the Mountain of Eternal Winter region have spread among adventurers.

● Added new Blackstar sub-weapon items.


● Added a questline for crafting Blackstar sub-weapons.
- The questline for crafting Blackstar sub-weapons can only be completed once per character.

● Reduced the amount of "Marni's Unstable Fuel" required to copy an item by 50%.
- Therefore, the formula for copying items was changed to the following:
