[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 31, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 31, 2022 (Wed).
Contents
We made some quality of life improvements to the music album content so that our composing Adventurers will be able to compose with greater ease and in record time. We will continue to look for even more ways to improve on the music album even after this latest update. We'd like to thank all of our brilliant Adventurers who busily compose their hearts away in the world of Black Desert.
Music Album Improvements
● Added hotkeys for quicker use of the following functions during composition.
- Edit Mode: E
- Select Mode: S
- Play/Stop music: SPACE (Requires notes on the score.)
- Delete note: Delete (Requires having dragged over and selected notes with your mouse via Select Mode.)
● Improved the background of the Compose/Score window so that it's easier see the notes.
- We changed the background colors so it's easier to distinguish between black and white keys.
- Added a white line to mark the first note in every octave.

● Improved the function for copying and pasting notes in the Compose/Score window.
1. Select the desired notes via Select Mode, then copy them by pressing Ctrl + C.
2. After copying the notes, select the top portion of the desired measure, then press Ctrl + V to paste the copied notes.
3. You can always set Note Attribute to different values (1/4 to 1/64) to pick the right point in your score to paste your notes.
4. After copying the notes, you can also use the same method to paste notes with other instruments as well.
* If both instruments share the same technique, you can also copy and paste techniques along with notes as well.
5. After pasting the notes, the score will automatically re-focus on the measure where you pasted your notes.
6. If you pasted the wrong notes, you can always use the Delete key with the notes selected to remove them.

● Improved the function for moving notes in the Compose/Score window.
- Improved the area where you can select and move notes via Select Mode.
* You can now move notes to areas within your score that aren't visible on your Compose/Score window.
- Improved notes to now remain selected even after being moved. You can move the notes again as long as they remain selected.
- You can copy notes up to where they're visible on your current Compose/Score window.
* Ex) If you copied some notes where they're not fully visible on your current Compose/Score window, you will only be copying those notes to the point that's cut-off on your window.
- If you go out of the instrument's range or exit Select Mode, all notes will be removed.

● Added the "Replicate" function to copy all the notes of one instrument to another instrument with ease.
- Select "Replicate" by clicking the top right corner of the instrument box located on the left-hand side of the Compose/Score window. You can copy all the notes of one instrument to another instrument that has the same octave range.
- You will then be able to select a new instrument you wish to replicate all the notes of the previous instrument.
- The selected instrument requires the replicated instrument to share the similar musical range.
UI
We did want to introduce the feature that allows you to immediately check the Item Drop Rate Increase stats currently being applied with the last update. However, we thought that the level of completion was important as we wanted to make it more convenient to use, which resulted in implementing the feature later than intended. Improvements were made so that you can now check the Item Drop Rate being applied more conveniently from the My Information (P) window or Item Collection Increase Gauge UI.

● Added a UI that allows you to check the Item Collection Increase stats currently being applied.
- You can check this out from the Item Collection Increase Gauge UI and Battle Stats from the My Information (P) window.
* Node investment buffs applied according to a set probability are not included in the displayed total, nor will they be applied over the max limit

My Information (P)

Item Collection Increase Gauge UI

● Improved to display the stats for each level on the tooltip information of Ability stats on the My Information window.

● Separated each of the View My Character's Name, Show Monster Name, Show My Character's HP Gauge, and Show Monster HP Gauge features.
- You can adjust each of the settings for the "Show Name" and "Show HP Gauge" features by going to General Settings -> Show/Hide tab from Menu (ESC) -> Settings (F10) -> Settings.
Pearl Shop
● Added a feature that you can use to check your purchase history to find all purchases made in the past 30 days from the Pearl Shop (F3).
- You can cancel purchases that have not passed 7 days (168 hours) since purchase from [Purchase History].
- To cancel a purchase, you must have all items obtained from the purchase in your character's inventory or Pearl inventory.
- You can cancel purchases once every month, and upon canceling a purchase, the item obtained will be retrieved and you'll get your Pearls back. (Reset 1st day of each month).

[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 25, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 25, 2022 (Wed).
Marni's Realm - Private Monster Zones
We're adding Marni's Realm (private monster zones) as we revealed during CalpheON Episode 2. The concept of private monster zones came to fruition after we thought about how to improve the gameplay experience for our Adventurers who had limited time to play each day.
We first brought this concept to life in the form of a "mini" server, but we felt that version was difficult to balance and didn't offer an equal opportunity access for all Adventurers. Hence we've come to develop and reveal Marni's Realm - Private Monster Zones. Of course, up until we settled on this current iteration, we went over countless feedback and opinions from our Adventurers, which helped us immensely. We're just happy to be able to finally reveal the fruits of our labor.

Marni's Realm does not apply to all monster zones, and we also focused on most popular zones sought after by our Adventurers, such as those in the Elvia Realm, Sycraia Underwater Ruins, and Gyfin Rhasia Temple.
It's quite simple to use. You will need to first move to the designated spot in a monster zone, open up the special menu and click a button to enter. Please note that we limited Marni's Realm to certain parts of a monster zone in order to lessen the burden on each server.
For example, upon entering Marni's Realm at the Orc Camp, you'll find yourself only able to move around and fight monsters in the "best spot" of the monster zone. Since you will be the only Adventurer in said realm, we didn't feel the need to open up the entire monster zone for Marni's Realm.

Also, your usage of Marni's Realm is limited to 1 hour per day.
While we heard your initial feedback on 1 hour being somewhat short, we didn't want Marni's Realm to end up overshadowing the main content of Black Desert, that is, fighting monsters in the open world alongside other Adventurers. Therefore, we have no plans to increase the daily limit at this time.

● Added private monster zones, Marni's Realm.
- The presence of all other Adventurers are removed the instant you enter Marni's Realm.
- Marni’s Realm spawns all the same monsters with the same loot rates as the "normal" zone.
- You cannot beyond the pocket of the monster zone within Marni's Realm unless you press the button to leave.
● You can find the available monster zones for Marni's Realm under Menu (ESC) - Adventure (F5) - Private Monster Zone.
● The entry button to Marni's Realm will appear once you reach the designated spot of specific monster zones, which you must press to gain access.
- You can auto-navigate to these designated spots also by referring to Menu (ESC) - Adventure (F5) - Private Monster Zone.
* Auto-navigation is not provided to monster zones in the desert.
- Entry to Marni's Realm is limited to 1 hour per day, which resets at 06:00 daily (an additional 5 minutes is provided as a buffer).
- As long as you have time remaining, you can enter and leave Marni's Realm as you please.
- Leaving Marni's Realm will pause the daily time limit, but there will be a 5-minute cooldown before you can attempt to enter again.
- You can only access Marni's Realm for Elvia monster zones on an Elvia Realm server.
- You can toggle the Marni's Realm entry button from the respective private monster zone window.

● Marni's Realm is available for the following monster zones.
- Tshira Ruins
- Polly's Forest
- Blood Wolf Settlement
- Sherekhan Necropolis (Day) * Monsters do not spawn if entered at night.
- Roud Sulfur Mine
- Pila Ku Jail
- Manshaum Forest
- Forest Ronaros Area
- Star's End
- Sycraia Underwater Ruins (Abyssal)
- Jade Starlight Forest
- Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Underground)
- [Elvia] Biraghi Den
- [Elvia] Swamp Fogan Habitat
- [Elvia] Swamp Naga Habitat
- [Elvia] Bloody Monastery
- [Elvia] Orc Camp
* Aakman Temple and Hystria Ruins are expected to become available in the near future.
● The following conditions apply to Marni's Realm.
- You cannot use Traveler's Map-type items within Marni's Realm.
- You cannot summon others or be summoned to Marni's Realm via the guild skill - Call To Gather or Lafi Bedmountain's Upgraded Compass.
- You can call for mounts that are within the designated area of a Marni's Realm monster zone.
- All summons will be de-summoned upon entering Marni's Realm.
- Death will force your character to leave Marni's Realm.
- You must be above 0 Karma to enter Marni's Realm.
- You cannot enter Marni's Realm on an Arena of Arsha or Node/Conquest War server.
- Each server has a maximum occupancy limit for Marni's Realm, which you can see via the Marni's Realm status UI.
- A window where you can change servers and check Marni's Realm status will appear if you attempt to enter on a server with too many Adventurers having entered Marni's Realm.

● Added the message and UI that displays on servers where Marni's Realm - Private Monster Zones is not available.
- Attempting to enter Marni's Realm on an Arsha/Node/Conquest War server will display a message, along with opening up the Server Change UI.
* The Server Change UI will also mark servers where Marni's Realm is unavailable.
Improvements to All Monster Zone Rewards and Item Drop Rates
We have several large updates going live for official Black Desert servers to announce today.

First off, we are adding traits unique to each monster zone for all regions (excluding Balenos, Serendia, and Mediah territories).
Based on recommended AP levels, these unique traits will include efficient Agris Fever point usage, higher drop rates for Specter's Energy, and higher Combat and Skill EXP rates within these zones. With this update, we hope to provide a broader variety of choices that will meet the diverse goals of our Adventurers as they head off to a monster zone.

We're also adjusting the loot tables of each monster zone.
Rather than adding new items to existing loot tables, we've taken the approach of looking at the overall balance of item drops and making adjustments where needed. Since we focused mostly on bolstering loot tables of zones that were slightly underwhelming, this update is expected to maintain or slightly increase profits from defeating monsters. For example, in the case of Cadry Ruins, which dropped Black Stones and Rosar Weapon Boxes, we slightly decreased the drop rate of Rosar Weapon Boxes and increased the drop rate for Caphras Stones and Scroll Written in Ancient Language, which we expect will slightly increase your gains from this zone. For Hystria Ruins, we made one of the zone's signature loot drops, the Ancient Power - Black Shard, now drop from Elten and Tukar Balten as well. These are the kinds of profit-increasing changes we implemented to balance out the differing loot tables between monsters and thereby increasing the potential for profit in most monster zones.

We're also expanding the means to obtain even greater item drop rate buffs than before.
Family Fame will now also add an additional item drop rate buff, and we've increased and expanded the influence of the item drop rate buff gained from Ecology Knowledge. This change was made so that Adventurers would gain a sense of naturally benefiting from all the hard work they’ve put into playing the game.

In addition, we are raising the maximum item drop rate threshold to 400%.
You can reach up to Item Drop Rate +300% through various means such as scrolls, campsite buffs, ecology Knowledge benefits, in-game events, and Blessing of Kamasylve. Owning a territory will bump that Item Drop Rate up to +350%, and if playing on an Arena of Arsha server, you will reach the maximum possible item drop rate of +400%. On a side note, item drop rate buffs such as the Hot Time event will now also apply on Arena of Arsha servers.

Some of you may have different opinions regarding the means of reaching the maximum item drop rate threshold. However, we settled on this updated system while considering how difficult it was to previously reach Item Drop Rate +300% without special event buffs or scrolls. We will continue to work on providing greater means of obtaining these buffs, so we ask for your patience and understanding.

This update to monster zones is part of our ongoing efforts, including the Elvia Realm monster zone improvements and the introduction of Marni's Realm, to offer more PvE choices to our Adventurers, just as we had announced during the previous Calpheon Ball.
We worked long and hard to provide these updates in a timely manner and will continue to work hard in order to give all of our Adventurers the best possible gaming experience.
Thank you.

● Improved the loot and drop rates of each monster zone.
* Excludes Balenos, parts of Mediah, Kuit Islands, and the Great Ocean.

● Added the following traits to monster zones.
- Traits compared between zones of similar recommended AP levels.
Item Collection Increase Gauge Unavailable Zones
- Due to the above change, the drop rate for the "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece" from Sycraia Underwater Ruins (Upper) has been increased to similar levels as the combined effects of "Item Collection Increase Scrolls, [Camp] Adventurer's Luck V, Ecology Knowledge buffs, Blessing of Kamasylve, Luck +5, and the Old Moon Treaty Token."
* You can expect slightly higher profits from these zones compared to those of zones with similar recommended AP levels without using the Item Collection Increase Gauge.

- You can complete the following weekly quests in each monster zone.

- Sealed Black Magic Crystals stack and take up one slot in your inventory.

[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 18, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 18, 2022 (Wed).
Mythical Diné
The dream horse, Mythical Diné, comes galloping across the waters! You can obtain a Mythical Diné via Mythical Awakening, and this legendary steed comes with its own unique skills such as Quicksilver, Triple Jump, and Protection of Okiara.
When we last revealed this mythical steed, many of our Adventurers displayed concern that it seemed to lack its signature horn. We are happy to report that Mythical Diné will be released with horn and all intact.
* Mythical Diné can utilize skills such as Drift, Instant Accel, and S: Instant Accel while maintaining high speeds to gallop across water for up to 15 seconds, which is around the time it would take to travel between two closely placed islands.
You require the Breath of Okiara to mount up on and move with a Mythical Diné standing on water, so use this resource wisely.

● Added a new dream horse available through Mythical Awakening, the Mythical Diné.
- Stable your Dinés with Gula, stable keeper of Stonetail Horse Ranch, to attempt Mythical Awakening.
- You will need one male and one female Diné, both at Lv. 30.
- Use the Mythical Censer to attempt Mythical Awakening which has a fixed success rate of 3%.
- A successful Mythical Awakening will see both Dinés reborn into one Diné of "Mythical" grade.
- If you fail, the 2 Dinés can be recovered at any time, and you can use the Mythical Censer to try again.
- A newborn Mythical Diné will have the inherent skills of both Diné and a Mythical Horse.
- Inherent skills will be at 100% mastery, and will not disappear even if you reset the horse's growth.
- Mythical Diné's base stats (HP, stamina, speed, accel, turn, brake, etc.) will be similar to a normal Diné. Including exclusive skills, Mythical Diné can learn up to 27 skills in total.
- Mythical Diné's base price is higher than the combined prices of two Lv. 30 Dinés (male and female). However, due to its rare breed, this mythical creature is currently not being sold in the Horse Market.
- Mythical Diné is a legendary dream horse born from Mythical Awakening and does not specify a gender.
* Mythical Diné consumes Breath of Okiara to gallop across waters for a certain period of time, but cannot traverse the deep seas.

● Details on Mythical Diné's inherent skills are as follows.

* You can use all horse skills excluding land-based attacks during Quicksilver.
* Earth of Life now cures desert illnesses when used by a Mythical Diné.
● Mythical Diné consumes the "Breath of Okiara" with the Quicksilver skill to gallop across water.
- You can check your Mythical Diné's "Breath of Okiara" upon mounting the steed.

- The Breath of Okiara will be recovered naturally under the following circumstances:
* Idle, moving, and using skills while mounted on land
* While idle on land
- When it's filled up to a certain level, you can consume Breath of Okiara with the Quicksilver skill to gallop across water.
- Using Quicksilver at shallow waters or swamps such as Catfishman Camp, Swamp Naga and Swamp Fogan Habitats, and Tshira Ruins, will not consume the Breath of Okiara.
- Consuming all Breath of Okiara will dismount you from your Mythical Diné. (Mythical Diné assumes an aquatic form to commune with the waters.)
● Mythical Diné will take on an aquatic form when dismounted while standing in the swamps or atop water.
- You can dismount from Mythical Diné while standing on water. You can also mount Mythical Diné while swimming (as long as there's Breath of Okiara to spare.)
* You can mount Mythical Diné with a matchlock equipped, but cannot gallop across water while it's still equipped.
Atoraxxion Improvements
In order to make Atoraxxion more enjoyable, we removed the "10,000 Agris Fever point" cost for the weekly reward quests and increased the drop chance for items needed to access each zone in the dungeon and the "Circuit of Special Information" that grant special knowledge. We hope these changes will encourage more Adventurers to challenge Atoraxxion.

● Improved the following items, which are required to craft items that grant access to each zone in Atoraxxion, to now have a 100% chance to drop.

● Improved the weekly Atoraxxion quests to no longer cost Agris Fever points.
- Before: 10,000 Agris Fever points consumed upon accepting the quest
- After: 0 Agris Fever points consumed
- Affected quests: [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Desert Chest, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Hystriah Chest, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Aakmah Chest I, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Aakmah Chest II, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Abyssal Chest, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Astran Chest, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Prottia Chest I, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Prottia Chest II

● Increased the drop rate for "Circuit of Special Information" that grant knowledge for certain monsters of Atoraxxion.
Item
● Changed Venomous Night Fangs to now be stackable in one inventory slot.
- The recipe for "Ibedor's Scroll" was changed to "Simple Alchemy (L) with Venomous Night Fang x5," accordingly.
* All relevant items in your inventory or storage has been moved to the storage in O'draxxia.

● Shakatu has carried out some restoration work regarding "Rich Merchant's Ring Pieces."
- Bring "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece" to Shakatu, who will inspect and identify them as an "Al Yurad's Ring Piece."
- The "Al Yurad's Ring Piece" is visibly distinct compared to the original "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece."
- While still serving as part of a whole just like the original "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece," you will now be able to visibly confirm its proper orientation for the ring's construction.
* You can use both original rich merchants and new Al Yurad's ring pieces and combine them to form the Rich Merchant's Ring.
- Getting a ring piece inspected by Shakatu will grant you knowledge on each of Al Yurad's Ring Pieces (5 in total).
- If you crafted the Rich Merchant's Ring without obtaining all 5 Al Yurad's Ring Piece knowledge entries, you can talk to Shakatu to obtain them without spending any Energy.

We're adding a processing recipe and quests to revert Combatant's Stone back into Narchillan gear.
Use Heating on Combatant's Stones and Narchillan gear to reobtain Spirit's First Breath, and bring 7 of these to Fughar to reobtain the 7 different Narchillan gear types.
If you are ever in need of the Combatant Stones once more, use Heating on the Combatant's Stone Fragment obtained earlier along with a Spirit's First Breath to reobtain the Combatant's Stone.

We're also adding a recurring quest to obtain the Canon weapon required for obtaining Narchillan gear.

● Added the means to revert Combatant's Stones once converted from Narchillan gear back into gear.
1. Use Heating (L) on Combatant's Stone (Weapon/Armor) to obtain "Spirit's First Breath" and "Combatant's Stone Fragment (Weapon/Armor)."
2. Use Heating (L) on each piece of Narchillan gear to obtain "Spirit's First Breath" as well.
3. Bring 7 "Spirit's First Breath" to Fughar and accept the "[Special Aid] By the Power of Narchillan Once More" quest.
4. Complete this quest to obtain all 7 Narchillan gear types.
* The Combatant's Stone Fragment can be combined with "Spirit's First Breath" to reobtain the Combatant's Stone.
* "Spirit's First Breath" in your inventory and storage will automatically be moved to your storage in Heidel.

● Changed [Berserker] Mountain Guardian Spirit Outfit Set (Helmet and Armor) to be exchangeable for the following outfit pieces through Tranan Underfoe in Velia after the May 18, 2022 (Wed) maintenance.
- You must have unequipped your [Berserker] Mountain Guardian Spirit Outfit Set/Helmet/Armor into your inventory to make the exchange.
